“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional care for Dublin! Elizabeth provided outstanding care for Dublin during our 8-day trip. From the moment we met, it was clear she genuinely loves dogs and has a natural way with them. Dublin took to her immediately. Throughout the week, Elizabeth sent regular updates with photos and messages that gave us complete peace of mind. She was reliable, responsible, and followed all of Dublin's routines perfectly. When we returned, Dublin was happy, well-exercised, and clearly had been loved and pampered in our absence. Elizabeth's communication was excellent - she was always responsive and kept us informed about Dublin's daily activities, meals, and mood. It's obvious she treats the dogs in her care like her own. We couldn't have asked for better care and would absolutely book with Elizabeth again. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring dog sitter who will treat your furry family member with love and attention. Thank you, Elizabeth, for taking such wonderful care of Dublin!”

“Hailey was fantastic!! She was very communicative about our cat and very patient in trying to get his fearful personality to come out of hiding. We will certainly reach out to her when in need of a cat sitter. Highly recommend her!!”

“What a pleasure to work with Beatrice. She was very responsive, attentive, and a relief to hear from. She knew exactly how to approach our cat and did all the right things to help gain trust. I would trust Beatrice with our pet any day and will consider her services again when we travel. I look forward to recommending her to others as well. Thank you so much!”

“This was the first time that Michelle dropped in on Cuddles. She gave her food, water and a clean litter box. Cuddles is not a friendly cat and seems very happy that Michelle was there to provide for her. I would definitely ask Michelle to care for Cuddles again.”

“Hannah was such a great pal to our cat Jeffrey while we were away! She is very communicative and responsible, and we’ll definitely be contacting her for pet sitting next time we go out of town.”

About: Every pet deserves to feel safe, loved, and genuinely cared for—even when you’re away. That’s exactly the kind of care I provide. As a lifelong animal lover, I understand that pets are family. I share my home with my sweet 6-year-old Cavapoo and my gentle 10-year-old Scottish Fold cat, so I know firsthand how important it is to trust the person caring for your furry family members. Before joining Rover, I worked at Dogtopia, where I cared for groups of up to 20 dogs at a time. That experience taught me how to understand different personalities, recognize body language, manage dogs of all sizes and energy levels, and ensure every pup feels safe, comfortable, and happy. When I was younger, I babysat and walked dogs for relatives and neighbors. I also know that leaving your pet can be stressful for you, too. That’s why I make communication a priority. You’ll receive regular photo updates, videos, and text messages so you can see your pet enjoying their day and have peace of mind knowing they’re in loving hands. When I care for your pet, my goal is simple: I want them to feel as comfortable, happy, and loved as they do when they’re with you. I can’t wait to meet you and your four-legged family member and become someone you can count on whenever you need an extra helping hand. I am currently on summer break from college. From September 2026, I will be available to work at any time on Monday, Wednesday, Friday afternoon/evenings and Saturday and Sunday. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, belly rubs, or simply quiet companionship, I’ll tailor every visit to their unique personality and routine. I believe every pet deserves individual attention, patience, and lots of affection. That is how I am with my dog Flash and my beautiful cat, Princess Leia. Honestly, no request is too much, my dog and cat both are very particular in their ways.
“Peggy was wonderful I will definitely be calling her again. She took great care of my dogs my dogs really loved her. Peggy really went above and beyond for my dogs. Great service and wonderful person.”

However i am available to walk your furbabies Monday through Friday from 11:30-3pm I can help feed, walk and play with your furbaby! I can give cuddles, company and give some relaxing brushes. “Esperanza is A M A Z I N G. I had a last minute trip I had to take and she was able to accomodate me last minute. Her communication was amazing, always sent me pictures and texts during each visit. I will 100000% be using her for anything involving my 2 animals going forward!”

“Samantha was so great with Ofelia. I have a moody cat and she was so patient and sweet to her. She would be on time every visit and send me pictures every single time. Quick to respond and super responsable. She even went above and beyond on many other things. Can’t recommend her enough 🫶🏼🐱”

“Railya was such a responsive sitter and really put our minds at ease while we were away. I really appreciate her time with our cat, and I was confident our cat was in good hands. I would gladly recommend her any time.”

About: I have owned both cats and big and small dogs and am experienced in training, raising, and taking care of all types of dogs in various states of health and ages. I love all animals! I work part time as I am applying to masters programs right now, so I will have plenty of time for dog walks and animal drop ins! I do not offer boarding or day care at my own house because of the multiple outdoor cats and other animals (like raccoons) in my neighborhood.
“WOW WOW WOW JASPER FUREVER!!! My apartment looked amazing when I came back, no messes anywhere! I can tell Jasper took really good care of my two cats and I will be using Jasper exclusively to cat sit from here on out! Thank you so much!!!”

About: Hi, I'm Bri! I am 28 years old and a registered nurse (for humans). I have loved animals for as long as I can remember. I’m considering a career in animal care too! I adopted my first dog and rabbit when I was 9. Then, about 10 years ago, I fostered 2 dogs from a shelter and wound up adopting one of them. I have taken a lot of my neighbours and friends dogs on walks to the park and around the neighbourhood. I have a lot of experience with feeding, playing, cleaning, and walking dogs. Since I’m a nurse, I’m open to medical accommodations as well! Overall, any furbaby deserves eternal love! I'm up for discussion about availability and hours. Please feel free to ask me any questions about references or my services! I’m currently unemployed so my availability is very flexible. Since I have 2 pets of my own, an example of my usual pet routine consists of morning breakfast, walking the dog 3 times a day, playing with my cat throughout the day, and dinner. First things first, safety! I will always assess the well being of your fur baby. I am receptive to body language and when an animal may be feeling uncomfortable. Everyone, including our fur babies, deserves to have their own boundaries respected. This will ensure we are both having a great time (:
About: I’ve taken care of almost every kind of dog since I was young! I’ve grown up with a golden retriever, an Australian Shepard, and a mini papillon! I have walked, babysat, and dropped in for neighbors, family and friends with all types of pets. I work remote so I can watch pets daily or weekly! At most I go into the office twice a week so I am very flexible. If I do go in, it is mostly Tuesdays or Wednesdays but not weekly. I live in apartment building that allows pets, has a lounge area and green space all around building. Around the building is the town in Mineola and Garden City so great for walking dogs and super dog friendly area! Super safe with young working people so walking the dog around the town and grass will be no problem. If the dog must stay at my apartment we have lots of space so the dog will have enough space to roam and feel comfortable.

I am a full time student (not during the summer) and a part time employee at Middle Country Animal Hospital, though I can be busy at times I will try my hardest to make time to take care of your fur baby :) I have a fenced in pen in my back yard with plenty of room for a small or medium sized dog to play but don’t plan on doing a lot of boarding in the near futre

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Searingtown. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
