“Shane was excellent! He communicated with us and shared an update with a photo or video with us daily! He worked with us to find a solution for drop off. We highly recommend Shane and will use his services again in the future. Thank you!!”

“Perfect sitter! Communication was consistent and the dogs were so tired on the drive home. I felt like they were welcome and had a good weekend while I was away! I will be using this sitter again.”

“Lynn was really great and very responsive. She even offered to pickup my pet and made it easy for us. Our pet seemed to be very comfortable with her. Highly recommend Lynn!”

“Het and Mukshutaben were wonderful with Sneakers. They communicated throughout his weekend stay and accepted to look after him on a short notice. Sneakers felt at ease and with comfort. I'll have to keep in them in mind for future stays. Thank you for treating Sneakers like your own.”

“We had a wonderful experience with Sherron! She took amazing care of Max—he came back happy, clean, and clearly well-loved. You can tell they are a kind and caring family who genuinely enjoy being around dogs. I felt completely at ease knowing Max was in such good hands.”

“We had a wonderful experience with Jeff and Jirapun taking care of our dog, Miley. They kept us updated throughout her stay with regular messages and plenty of pictures, which gave us great peace of mind. It was clear that Miley was well cared for and very comfortable with them. Thank you both for taking such great care of Miley. We truly appreciate your kindness and attention, and we’ll definitely look forward to leaving Miley with you again in the future. Highly recommended!”

“Courtney and her family were really awesome with Caramel while I was traveling for the weekend. They provided her lots of cuddles and hugs. Courtney shared some photos of Caramel over the weekend and that was nice to see my pup happy and well-adjusted. Caramel ran around the backyard with their golden retriever, and she even got to use the kiddie pool in the backyard. When I picked up Caramel, everything was gathered together and she got a treat bag to take home! I would definitely book with Courtney again in the future!”

“Our sweet boy would be an anxious mess when I’m away. Thanks to Rodnie and her family, my Jet Pack felt right at home and made friends with the other dogs. Thank you again for giving comfort and love for my pupper, easing what would normally be a stressful time.”

“Laura Beth took great care of my senior pup. He came home looking happy and relaxed. The daily pictures showed him ‘smiling’ and content in her care. She also provided great communication and concern for his safety & comfort; Laura Beth is a true pet parent.”

“We love Briona!! She’s amazing with our dog and he even gets excited to go to her home for boarding. She really treats him like her own. Each time we book through her she’s very communicative, sends lots of pictures and keeps us updated on his day.”

“Chad is a wonderful host to our 40lb catahoula, George. George and Pixel get along wonderfully. Nice space, good fenced in backyard. Chad goes above and beyond. His love for dogs truly shows.”

“Cynthia was awesome! From our first communication to pick up, she was very kind and responsive. She sent updates and pictures throughout the stay. We could tell Sophia was comfortable and well taken care of. Highly recommend!”

“From the very start we were very confident that our dogs were going to get as much of a vacation as we did! We got tons of pictures and videos of walks and playing in the yard that showed us how well cared for our babies were! Thank you so much for giving us peace of mind and a fun home to leave our dogs at while we’re away ❤️”

“Jerica checks All the boxes! She is knowledgeable, professional, organized, a great communicator, and kind. She knows dogs! I could tell my two pups had a great time because they came home happy not traumatized like one of mine did several months ago with a different caregiver. What I appreciated the most was how she alleviated my concern about one of my pups because she is a rescue pup with little socialization with other dogs. Jerica explained her process beforehand which made me feel very comfortable. I highly recommend her. She’s an absolute Pro!”

About: I’ve house/animal sat for numerous family and friends over the years. As well as I have a 4 year old Dalmatian. I love taking care of animals and would be delighted to anytime. Due to having a pup at home I can not stay overnight but more than happy to let fur babies out super early/ late. I am currently a full time nurse I have plenty of free time on my hands when requested in advance! Also have help when needed! I have a big fenced in back yard with lots of room to run around. As well as a spunky Dalmatian to play and keep your fur baby busy.
“Diana was great! She takes really good care of our pets. She treats them like they are her own, very attentive. They loved her big back yard. Plenty of room to roam around. Definitely will be revoking next month.”

“Farrah was absolutely wonderful with Connor! 🥰 She was so sweet and caring, took him on lots of walks, and gave him plenty of love and attention. I could tell he was happy and well taken care of while I was away. She was great with him, and I would definitely recommend Farrah to anyone looking for a sitter! 🐾❤️”

“Nathan and his wife were BEYOND amazing. They treated my Poptart like their own and even bought her a new harness when she chewed through hers. They took her on a bunch of walks and hung out with her all day. I am so grateful to have found them! I couldn’t recommend them enough!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Schwertner home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Schwertner.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Schwertner sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
