About: Animals have been the center of my world for as long as I can remember. Growing up surrounded by dogs, cats, and bunnies, caretaking has always been second nature to me. As a former teacher, I am now leaning fully into my true passion, and bringing comfort and happiness to pets gives me so much genuine joy. Whether your family member is a high-energy pup, an independent cat, or a gentle senior who needs a patient touch and daily medication, I treat them with the exact same structure, love, and respect I would give my own. I can't wait to keep your furry best friends safe, happy, and thoroughly spoiled while you're away! Because my other part-time commitments total only 6 hours a week, my schedule is incredibly flexible, leaving me with plenty of open time to focus entirely on caring for your pets! Here is exactly when I am briefly away each week: Weekday Evenings (2 total): At a gym, I coach a few adult workout classes in the evenings. Sunday Mornings: I teach Sunday school to preschoolers for a brief session. Outside of these short windows, my days are completely open. This minimal schedule allows me to offer highly attentive, consistent care, adapt easily to your pet's normal routine, and provide plenty of companionship throughout the day! Whether welcoming a pet into my home or staying at yours, safety and clear structure are my top priorities. My home is a pet loving environment shared with my friendly dog and two cats. To ensure everyone feels secure and comfortable, I utilize sturdy pet gates to easily separate animals for quiet time or feeding, and I am more than happy to accommodate crating upon request. Because my part-time jobs take up only 6 hours a week, pets in my care receive constant supervision and a highly consistent routine. As a former educator, I am meticulous about following your exact instructions, maintaining strict safety boundaries, and keeping you updated with photos so you can relax knowing your furry family members are safe, respected, and thoroughly loved.

“Great sitter!! Pleasant. Communicative and personable. Very flexible with her schedule. Always checking in and checking out! — sent a lot of pictures. Highly recommended. Will use her again!”

About: I have taken care of animals my whole life, and have cared for 4 dogs in my home until. I love dogs, the outdoors, and being active, so dog walking is super fun for me! I have experience with high-energy dogs as well as slower senior pups. I work part-time and have a very flexible schedule, so I have plenty of free time for your pets! I’m currently available all day (including early mornings) until evening, Monday-Saturday for walks or check-in visits. I currently have Bo, a senior pitbull, who is super chill and has no problems with other dogs. I also recently got a Belgian Malinois puppy named Darth Vader! Mercury, my brother’s 6 year old Australian Cattle dog, loves to play and I take care of him on occasion. We have a large patio and pool that dogs can enjoy laying in the sun or swimming! I also have a super walk able neighborhood, with a walking trail that is off the pavement. Additionally, I do enjoy taking dogs in the car for walks in new locations or trips to the dog beach/park!
“Briana was excellent! We were on vacation for almost a month and she was dropped in everyday to spend time with our cat 💜 She was punctual, great with communication and I could tell comet absolutely adored her. Would definitely use Briana again and would recommend her. Thank you again Briana 😊”

About: I have various experience with all sorts of animals, including large farm animals. As a current owner of two dogs and one cat, I’m comfortable with them all and want to help your animal feel loved and cared for when you are not able to be there with them. I love getting down on the floor to rub puppy bellies and getting cats to play. I will do my absolute best to make sure your pet(s) are having a great time while you are away and provide them any comfort they may need. From cuddle bugs to loners, I’ve dealt with them all and know how to alter my approach to best suit your fur babies. I guarantee they’ll love me in no time and be beyond excited to see me on my next trip! I’m a server so I have plenty of time during the day to stop in and play with your pets to ensure they are feeling loved while you’re away! By staying in your home, I can make sure that your pets feel safe and at ease, rather than making them come into a new unknown environment.
About: I have taken care of both dogs and cats for the last few years. I have two cats at home but I also love dogs. I will give them the love they need while you are away. I am currently available all times for the next two weeks. My work schedule is flexible and I can go by your place in the morning and evening and for a quick check in during the afternoon if needed or can easily stay at your place if needed to stay overnight At my home we don’t let our cats outside to protect them from wild animals outside like alligators and in other homes I would not let someone’s dog outside loose unless in a fenced yard otherwise I would have them on a leash.
“Kailea took excellent care of our three doggos! We were visiting Sarasota, but will definitely contact her again if we need pet care on future visits. Thanks, Kailea!”
“Tracy is top-notch. She has helped me out a number of times, is very reliable and Ginger loves her. As a cat Dad I am grateful and feel assured when I have to go out of town. Highly recommended and appreciated.”

“Highly recommend Nevaeh! I felt more at ease using this app for the first time and leaving my pups overnight. She provided updates and included pics every drop in. Would 100% use her again 🤍”

“We are SO thankful we found Emma! She went above and beyond for us (our vacation coincided with Hurricane Ian) and took excellent care of our cat, Pepper. She is flexible and communicative. We could tell she really cares about the animals and is respectful of the home. We recommend her and will definitely use her again and again!”

“We always know our fur babies are in great hands when Kathy is checking on them. They seem to agree; they are perfectly comfortable with her and they are not comfortable with many people.”

About: Growing up, I always had pets: dogs, cats, hamsters, mice, fish, guinea pigs, and birds. I loved animals, and I still do. My home is very clean, not just for myself but for them as well. Pets have always been a soft spot for me, and I make time for them every day. I can’t remember a time without furry friends in my home! I’m observant and attentive to every pet’s personality. I make sure they feel comfortable in their favorite spots, whether it’s their bed or a special corner in your home. I follow all instructions carefully from meals and treats to medications and routines to give your pet the care they deserve.

“Nicole is a very caring person. She took care of my two cats like her own. She sent me the details of her daily visit to them. She also sent me the pictures of them. This is my first time using Rover so I was kind of nervous about it but she exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend her. Nicole is the best sitter! Thank you so much!!”

“I highly recommend Christina for her exceptional care and attention to detail. She was reliable, communicative, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. My cat was calm and well cared for when I returned. Everything was neat and orderly in my house. She brought all my mail and packages inside as well. I wouldn’t hesitate to book her again!”

“Kim was wonderful with our kitty Sofia! Sofia met her every time at the door and was so happy to see her. Sofia ate very well and was very well taken care of by Kim. I would highly recommend Kim to drop in and spend time with your kitty ❤️❤️”

About: I’ve been taking care of animals since I was about 11 and have always been the go-to pet helper in my neighborhood. I grew up loving nature thanks to my mom we were always visiting zoos and wildlife reserves, so being around animals has just always felt natural to me. My family has had both dogs and cats my whole life, and I truly adore them all. Your furry loved one will be treated like family with me and cared for with lots of love and attention 🐾💛 My schedule is fully open at the moment! Would love to take your dog for a walk early morning/late afternoon so it’s not too hot!!! I can also do drop in visits! I am very respectful of your space and treat your home just like it’s my own. I always clean up after myself and your pet, and I make sure everything is left exactly how I found it. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I’m also happy to host pets in my home, where they’ll receive lots of attention and care.

Hailey was amazing taking care of my two kitties. One of them takes medication and she did everything asked. Chaz is very weary with other people. It took a couple times and Chaz was happy to see her. She was also quick of responding to me when I wanted her to add some medication to my other cat. I’m new to this and glad I decided to go with her. I will use her in the future. She was so very nice, thank you Hailey!

Nicole was awesome. She handled every one of my care requirements. She connected very well with my cat, he's usually slow to warm up to new people, but he warmed up to her right away. She was reliable, and easy to communicate with the whole time I was away. Highly recommend.

Meara was absolutely amazing! I have a lot of cats that are high maintenance and she took great care of them. She sent lots of photos and the cats always looked happy in them. We even have 1 cat that needs medicinal cream rubbed on her ear every night and Meara didn't miss a day. I would absolutely recommend her!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
