“Kathy exceeded my expectations in taking care of my cat Romeo. She went above and beyond just feeding him. She was able to give him his medications and played and brushed him and sent pics which showed a very happy cat. So much better to be home rather than in a cage at the Vets. Romeo is looking forward to her next visits in August. Thank you so very much!”
“Absolutely wonderful dog sitter! Excellent communication, always on time, and the photos from each visit were so comforting and reassuring. Most importantly, my dog was incredibly happy and relaxed when I returned. I felt completely confident knowing he was in such good hands. Highly recommend!”

About: In regards to my experience with personal pet care. From a young age, I have raised and help nurture animals in all stages of their life. LGBTQIA friendly 💖🏳️🌈 I am currently a Freelance Character Designer and Illustrator, so my schedule is pretty flexible. Let me know what's up and I'll probably be down. I want to be 100% transparent with everything that goes on in your absence to keep you at a peace of mind.
“Carolina was excellent. She agreed to a last-minute request on our behalf due to a funeral. She was very prompt and thorough. Carolina took the time to try to coax out two very shy kitty cats. We will definitely use her in the future if her schedule allows.”

“Highly recommend Nevaeh! I felt more at ease using this app for the first time and leaving my pups overnight. She provided updates and included pics every drop in. Would 100% use her again 🤍”

“Tracy is top-notch. She has helped me out a number of times, is very reliable and Ginger loves her. As a cat Dad I am grateful and feel assured when I have to go out of town. Highly recommended and appreciated.”

“We are SO thankful we found Emma! She went above and beyond for us (our vacation coincided with Hurricane Ian) and took excellent care of our cat, Pepper. She is flexible and communicative. We could tell she really cares about the animals and is respectful of the home. We recommend her and will definitely use her again and again!”

About: I have taken care of animals my whole life, and have cared for 4 dogs in my home until. I love dogs, the outdoors, and being active, so dog walking is super fun for me! I have experience with high-energy dogs as well as slower senior pups. I work part-time and have a very flexible schedule, so I have plenty of free time for your pets! I’m currently available all day (including early mornings) until evening, Monday-Saturday for walks or check-in visits. I currently have Bo, a senior pitbull, who is super chill and has no problems with other dogs. I also recently got a Belgian Malinois puppy named Darth Vader! Mercury, my brother’s 6 year old Australian Cattle dog, loves to play and I take care of him on occasion. We have a large patio and pool that dogs can enjoy laying in the sun or swimming! I also have a super walk able neighborhood, with a walking trail that is off the pavement. Additionally, I do enjoy taking dogs in the car for walks in new locations or trips to the dog beach/park!

About: Growing up, I always had pets: dogs, cats, hamsters, mice, fish, guinea pigs, and birds. I loved animals, and I still do. My home is very clean, not just for myself but for them as well. Pets have always been a soft spot for me, and I make time for them every day. I can’t remember a time without furry friends in my home! I’m observant and attentive to every pet’s personality. I make sure they feel comfortable in their favorite spots, whether it’s their bed or a special corner in your home. I follow all instructions carefully from meals and treats to medications and routines to give your pet the care they deserve.
About: Taken care of many cats and dogs! I have worked in pet boarding resorts! As long as your friendly pooch and I get along well, I will gladly care for your dog as schedule allows! I am a swim teacher, but on my free days and in my other free time can walk dogs and do drop in visits for any non aggressive dog, cat or caged pets. Aggressive pets will be taken on case by case basis if I’ll be able to safely handle. I currently live in a condo with my own dog, but during drop in visits and walks I’ll be paying attention to dog or cat interests and health needs. I’m willing to cater to the individual needs of the pet and treat them like my own. Also willing to care for non cat/dog pets within home as well.

Sierra did a phenomenal job taking care of our cat. We booked Sierra last minute because my other sitter couldn’t do it and she replied almost immediately. Her darling daughter also helped with petting and caring for our cat. 2 for 1 service! Would definitely use her again.

Hailey was amazing taking care of my two kitties. One of them takes medication and she did everything asked. Chaz is very weary with other people. It took a couple times and Chaz was happy to see her. She was also quick of responding to me when I wanted her to add some medication to my other cat. I’m new to this and glad I decided to go with her. I will use her in the future. She was so very nice, thank you Hailey!

Meara was absolutely amazing! I have a lot of cats that are high maintenance and she took great care of them. She sent lots of photos and the cats always looked happy in them. We even have 1 cat that needs medicinal cream rubbed on her ear every night and Meara didn't miss a day. I would absolutely recommend her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Sarasota Springs. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
