“Emily & Eric were fantastic. They cared for our frenchie while on vacation and couldn’t ask for more. Updated us consistently and even handled a few accidents with ease. Great family and would highly recommend! Thank you!”

“Our Cavaliers loved staying with Amy. Her home was accommodating, and they seemed very comfortable with the family and her dogs. My dogs immediately made themselves at home and I'm sure would eagerly return!”
“Hailey and her family were so friendly, kind, and easy to work with. We met ahead of time to make sure it was a good fit, and Hailey was so thorough and asked great questions, which gave me a lot of confidence in leaving Willow with them. Willow had the best time while we were away. We will definitely book with Hailey again the next time we need a sitter.”

“I’m always amazed at how relaxed Elaine is with dogs and kids and family, each with their separate needs. She went above and beyond to get the right medication for my dogs itchies.”

“Debbie, Spoiled our Golden retriever -Chloe. Chloe immediately felt at home with Debbie and her dog Sammy. We got daily update’s and picture’s . Debbie’s house has a great fenced back yard so the dogs can run and play. She has dog beds throughout the house and cool house on hot summer days for the dogs. Highly recommend Debbie and will continue to rebook with her in the future.”

“Kimberley is a very caring and knowledgeable dog owner and dog caregiver. My dogs had a great visit beforehand to see how good of fit they were with her dog and home. She had my dogs for a week and asked a couple questions about one of my dogs who is a bit nervous at times and she was very concerned about providing what he needed to relax more and settle in. my dogs were happy there. I don’t have anything negative to say about Kimberley and her home or her care of my dogs. She was fantastic. She sent a few pictures asked important questions. My dogs were happy and well cared for and I didn’t worry about them while I was on vacation. I highly recommend Kimberley.”

“When we were searching for someone to take care of Bella and Cody, Kristi was the first person we came across in the results. We didn't hesitate to reach out to her, and we're incredibly glad we did. Kristi provided a wonderful home for Bella and Cody, taking excellent care of them and keeping us updated every day. We couldn't be happier with her services. Highly recommended!”

“Larissa was the perfect person to take care of my dog. She sent me updates and photos throughout the entire time. I felt assured that my dog Mac was in good hands and at no point was worried. I’d happily leave my pup with Larissa again!”

“Jared’s experience being a vet tech really shows. He’s communicated daily throughout the stay, and our puppy (who’s usually destructive) was calm and entertained the entire time. Looking forward to the next stay with him”

“Our dog Cowboy had the best time with Lajetta. She sent us pictures of him frequently and we could tell that he felt right at home. We will definitely ask her to watch him again!”

“Jennifer was great with our Hercules! We felt very at ease that our guy was being taken care of while we were away. Thanks again & will definitely rebook!”

“I've had Steve watch my 1 year old dog twice now and can't say enough good things about him! He is a multi-dog sitter who has been wonderful with large dog packs. Steve sends pictures and videos when ever I ask for a check in. He has been flexible with pick up and drop off. He asks all the right questions up front. Steve is my go-to sitter from now on. His home is lovely and he has a beautiful yard for the dogs to play in. Both if his own dogs are happy and so sweet to me and Jade whenever we visit. I am SO grateful to have a person so close that I fell so comfortable bringing my dog to.”

“Leah and Chris were amazing! It was so obvious our boys were having a blast with them and that they loved them as their own. We got daily updates with amazing photos of the dogs and saw they were being regularly walked and paid attention to. 100% will book with them again.”

“Danielle and her partner are super sweet, friendly, responsible and thorough when it came to my dog’s care. It was her first time away from me and they made me feel very comfortable and confident that she was well taken care of! I appreciate that they let her on the furniture because she’s a snuggle bug :) Will definitely book with them again in the future!”

“Kind and caring. Our dog bolts right inside like it’s her second home (we try to tell her it’s not). She loves Ron’s dog Emma, which seems to really help with having a companion dog there with ours to keep her company while boarding.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Sara
As a first-time dog owner who had never used Rover before, I was naturally nervous about boarding my dog, Geralt, especially given his health and behavioral needs. He has elbow dysplasia and significant anxiety. Finding Shell was an absolute blessing. She went above and beyond in every possible way, not only caring for Geralt with complete devotion, but also guiding me on how to give him the best training, nutrition, and life possible. Shell truly has a gift and can read a dog’s mind. She instantly understood Geralt’s body language and underlying motivations. When he experienced anxiety, she intuitively determined what he needed to feel better, adjusted his care seamlessly, and helped keep him calm and safe. She also noticed he wasn't thrilled with his standard food and introduced duck kibble as a healthy, delicious alternative to chicken, explaining the nutritional benefits and making mealtime something he looked forward to. Her weekly play group has done wonders for Geralt’s socialization. Through her structured "pack life" activities, he interacted beautifully with other dogs (like Daisy and Raven) and blossomed into a confident, happy "ladies' man"! Throughout the stay, Shell provided constant reassurance by calling me frequently and sending endless updates, photos, and videos of their daily adventures. Seeing Geralt thrive, play, and crash happily on her floor gave me total peace of mind. "Auntie Shell" is so much more than a dog sitter; she is a deeply knowledgeable mentor, caregiver, and advocate for every dog in her care. I cannot recommend her highly enough!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Sara home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Sara.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Sara sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
