“Alexis and I had a couple of communication misfires at first but we worked things out. I was a nervous dog mom since this was my first time on Rover. But Alexis was very responsive and took great care of my pup, who came home happy and healthy. I think my dog enjoyed her time in the country on Alexis’ property, and got lots of fresh air and exercise.”

“We truly lucked out in finding Brandi! She was extremely communicative, helpful and took great care of our dog Teddy. She even met up with me beforehand for a meet and greet to make sure everyone was comfortable. She provided regular updates and photos of Teddy having a great time with all his friends, Brandi dropped off and picked up for us which was so helpful during our wedding weekend. She even provided cute photos printed of Teddy‘s weekend adventures. We loved the experience with Brandi, and we will absolutely be rebooking her in the future. 12/10 recommend her.”

“Casey and Michael have been FABULOUS to work with. They took time to get to know our two girls over a period of a few weeks prior to leaving them for their first nights away from home. Our very sensitive and emotional girls gained a confidence and a good comfort level and when it came time to begin their first overnight stay, they did great. Daily updates and photos gave me great peace of mind and comfort while I was away. The girls really seemed to enjoy their stay. Casey and Michael really love your pets as their own. I wouldn't hesitate to board our girls again! Thank you Casey and Michael for your loving care for our two girls.”

“ My two Labradoodles stayrd the Memorial Day weekend with Marion Russo. They had a wonderful time playing with her and her dogs. When I brought them home they were relaxed and tired. I will use Marion's services whenever she is available. A great experience.”

About: I grew up in a house full of animals and pets and have grown to understand and love them fully and I hope to spread that love towards other animals! I can come take care of pets almost every day! I am a working Christian girl so Sundays I have church for an hour, and I just recently started a new job so far my hours are 10am-7pm Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays! I’m available afternoons on Thursdays and I’m available weekends! I believe that pets require an immense amount of attention and affection and I will always create a trusting bond with the pet owners and answer any questions the owners may have!
“Cristina did an amazing job! Our little doggie loved her time there. Cristina was great at communication, sending pictures and updates, and was also flexible with her time. We will happily use her again!”

“Siarra is the most kind and caring dog friendly person I have met! She keeps me informed with quick updates and photos. I never have to worry about how my pup is because I am in the loop. This is my second time booking with her and I will continue to do so! Highly recommend!!”

“Mackenzie and her family were AMAZING. They took such good care of our pups. Both Lylla and Rocket have separation anxiety issues, and we knew they had been well-loved because they were so calm when we picked them up. We also loved the "Welcome Puppies" chalk drawing that Mackenzie's daughter drew for us. We would absolutely ask them to watch our dogs again!!”

“Lindsey is excellent! She agreed to watch our 6-month old puppy with no hesitations! About a month before the Boarding, we met beforehand at a Park, and then walked to her house to check it out. Our dogs became instant friends and within a day of Boarding they were best friends. Lindsey took excellent care of Honey for all nine days, and even helped with training Honey. She sent us daily photos and videos, so we could tell that Honey was having a great time at "sleepaway camp!" Would highly recommend Lindsey to anyone, and would definitely book with her again. Thank you, Lindsey!”

“Earl was great to work with! He is easy going and great with animals. He was flexible with drop off and pick up times. I would definitely recommend this provider and we will surely be using him again in the future.”

“Michelle is wonderful! Even though our dog is nervous in new situations, she made Callie feel welcomed and safe right away. Michelle was a great communicator before and during the stay. I won’t hesitate to book with Michelle again!!”

“Ciana and family are wonderful, welcoming, & loving furry friends. I was sent photos of my baby while I was away, this helped me know she was happy and was in good hands. All of my suggestions for care were used to better facilitate a good experience. My baby is blind, deaf and 15 years old, she needs to be watched closely and at all times while active, not an easy animal to board. Ciana food wonderfully, I have already booked another boarding appointment with her. I highly recommend Ciana.”

“We were very happy with Loki’s care. They were kind and everything went smoothly. Loki really enjoyed spending time with their family and felt comfortable and happy. We also appreciated the effort they made to speak French with Loki. Thank you for taking care of him, and we would be happy to contact you again in the future. 🐾”

“Melissa was so thoughtful and kind to both Daisy and I. It was our first time leaving Daisy since we adopted her. Melissa took the time to let us visit her home for a meet-and -greet and sniffs of her property a few days before Daisy’s stay. Melissa was so thoughtful and attentive to Daisy’s needs. I have no doubt that Daisy is in good hands with Melissa .”

“Julie is the best! She not only took incredible care of our 10-year old dog Maxine, she helped make our dream of having her in our wedding possible. She brought her to the venue looking brushed and beautiful, and picked her up after a couple hours to go home and rest. Julie was wonderful with sharing adorable pictures and updates about Maxine, and her dog Charlie is as sweet as can be. She was able to administer Maxine’s medication with no problems, and we knew the whole time that Maxine was in great hands. Highly recommend Julie if you need someone to take gentle care of your senior doggie in the St. Helena area!”

“Katy is a super Rover sitter! Her big Lab was a funny and funny companion for my fun-loving Labradoodle. She followed feeding instructions to a T. Her home and back yard are safe and secure.”

Siarra took my pup in like one of her own! I was so nervous to leave her with someone new and Luna never looked back! Siarra loved Luna just as I do, took her on walks and adventures with her pups all together! I will absolutely use Siarra for all of our dog sitting needs!
Mandi was amazing! This was our dog's first boarding experience and it was definitely a great one. He's still a puppy and learning to stay away from us is something he's still getting used to from time to time. Mandi was very accommodating and super helpful before we dropped our pup off. The drop-off and pick-up process was easy and stress-free. There was another review that said the property was hard to find, but Mandi provided me the address and google maps had no issues finding it! Our pup definitely seemed to be having a good time. It was also a great experience for him to hang around dogs and kids in a more casual and calm setting. I would definitely recommend Mandi for your boarding needs!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Sanitarium home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Sanitarium.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Sanitarium sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
