Camp CompawdreSanta Rosa, CA

Let us take your little (or big!) four-legged family member and give you peace of mind that they will be taken care of, and treated like our own, while you are away!

We work from home full time running a word working business - and dog boarding of course! - so you're pup will be under our watch 24/7.

We live on Petaluma Hill Rd just a short distance from Snyder Lane on 2 acres of property with a large 2600 sqft fenced area for the dogs to romp around in. It's our own, private dog park! We also take dogs out of the fenced area for games of fetch, frisbee, or just to take a break from playtime and let them sniff and smell their way around our property.

At night, we have a large 250+ sqft room for sleeping that sits right next to our bedroom with extra-large (48") individual crates for dogs and extra beds for those that are not crate trained. We also offer our bedroom for the pups that are more used to being close to their humans in the night and don't do well sleeping among the others. We don't require you to bring a crate, as we have our own, but please bring something that smells like home (blanket, favorite toy, etc.)! It's nice for them to have a little piece of home while they are here.

Please note: We require that all dogs staying with us be up to date on vaccinations - including bordetella! Though through the majority of your pup's stay he/she will be outside with plenty of fresh air, we want to make sure that we provide the safest environment for all of our clients.

We would love to be your dog's second family and your regular go-to for vacations, business trips, or weekend getaways.

Confident care for your dogCalistoga, CA

A retired couple with 40 years of dog guardian experience, who now lives in the California wine country, albeit without a dog.

We are a retired couple with 40 years of dog guardian experience. We took one Lab through the breed ring, field trials, and obedience. We won several legs but no Masters. We presently have no dogs. We live alone. Our house is in a community in which are located several dog parks. We have a large fenced in back yard.

Our dogs are recently deceased and we have yet to replace them. We have the facilities and the compassion to host dogs. It is an obvious way to gain exposure and experience with multiple breeds.

About this sitter:

I live in Calistoga and I pet sit dogs at my house but I am also available to care for your dog at your house. I do not prefer to spend the night, but I know special occasions arrive, so we can talk. I am physically able to deal with a vigorous dog, and enjoy walking for exercise. I am reluctant to care for more than 2 dogs daily. I can easily commute to accomodate your schedule.

Why I love dog sitting

Casey, my wife and I, have had dogs in our house since 1973. Mostly Labs, but there was also a Dalmatian. In 1996 we purchased a breed puppy and trained her for the ring. Her X-rays revealed elbow problems at 1 year so I switched to Field Trials and obedience. Lot's of leg awards but no Masters. In 2004, while living in France, we adopted another Yellow Lab, so then we had Macchu and Picchu. We brought the whole gang home to San Francisco in 2007, where both animals died of old age.

Meet my pets

We have no other pets in the house. Sometimes we will sit 2 dogs, however, it is only with the agreement of each pet parent.

About my yard

The back yard is aprox. 100X100 and is completely enclosed with a wooden 6 foot fence. The surface is rock gravel, cement, and redwood chip. There is ample protection and shade for the dog.

My experience administering medication

Yes we are. This eventuality will be discussed in our "meet and greet."

Mama Rhea, Pooch Pal: I speak PoochSanta Rosa, CA

I'm a retired RN and I love the dogs. They also seem to like me! Bring your pooch over to my dog haven; you will see we are meant to be together, if only on a short term basis. :-) My home is a nice big place with a modest yard for burying a bone or napping in the sun, and no resident pooches. I am mostly home but go out for exercise, meetings or local errands daily, and I volunteer a morning a week.

Like you, your sweet pup(s) (up to 20 pounds) deserve a 5-Star vacay. The first step is to click on the Meet & Greet tab so we can arrange time to get together and confirm that your Best Friend and I are a match.

Loving Care for your Precious PetsSanta Rosa, CA

Let me be the one to offer loving, nurturing daytime or night time care for your beloved pet. Over 30 years experience caring for pets - cats, dogs, birds, rabbits. I have a shady fully fenced yard.

About this sitter:

I have been a pet lover for over 50 years and would love to care for your pet in my home or yours. I have many years experience caring for pets and have volunteered at animal shelters. I am very flexible with hours and days - overnight or days whichever you prefer! Thanks for the opportunity to give your pet the love and care it deserves.

About my dog:

Monte is a rescue dog that I have had for 8 years. He is a male Border Collie mix that is very sweet and mellow (especially for a Border Collie). He is passive with other dogs and usually lets them be unless they want to run and then watch him go! He even shares his toys. Monte gets along with all dogs, especially the smaller breeds.

I love walking, and your dog does 2Santa Rosa, CA

I have owned numerous dogs. I don’t have one right now, but love dogs! I would love to come walk and play with your dog while you are away on vacation or business! Your dog will be well cared for until you return. I love all types of dogs, and enjoy interacting with them, walking them, and playing with them! I have previously owned a fox terrier, a golden retriever, and 2 totally awesome mutt mixed dogs. I work part-time, so I have lots of extra time during the week that I can use to help care for your dogs while you are away. I believe dogs should ha e special people that they can depend on - like doggie grandparents - that can care for them, and add special meaning to their life.

Your pet is my number one prioritySanta Rosa, CA

Up until a year ago, I spent 8 hours or more a day sitting at a desk working for a paycheck, then out of nowhere I was laid off after 10 years of employment. After getting over the shock of it all, (blessing in disguise) I easily realized that I don’t belong behind a desk. I come to realize what I already knew. I love working with Animals and most of all, working with dogs. Dogs are my passion and now my profession. I recently acquired my AKC Certification as a Positive Reinforcement Dog Trainer. In between the pets I care for, I donate my time volunteering at animal shelters doing all I can do to care for these furry friends. I’m a full time mom however my kids have all flown the coop, so now I have lots of time on my hands to dedicate to walks and playtime with your pup. I’m comfortable with all size’s and breads. I am also a member of “Association of Professional Dog Trainers, APDT) and am always educating myself on training techniques side by side with dog behavior.

Animal lover with playful bassetWindsor, CA

I have grown up my whole life with a dog or pet in the house. I currently own a very easy going basset hound who loves the company of others. My kindness and easy going nature is what I believe will make me a great pet sitter. I accept all dog breeds, sizes and ages. I am trained and certified to take anxious and/or aggressive dogs. Every dog deserves to be loved and taken care of. When your pet stays with me I will make their experience as enjoyable and stress free as possible. I believe long walks and someone at the house at all times is very important. I do my best to accommodate the need of the animal parent as well as your fur baby.

Boston Terrier Seeks FriendsCalistoga, CA

Hello pawrents! Thank you for considering our family. My husband Cesar, our Boston Terrier Harley and I would love to care for your pet while you are away. We live on a private vineyard in Calistoga, CA with plenty of room to play and run around. We take daily walks morning and night around the property in addition to frequent potty breaks throughout the day.

Harley is a four year old Boston Terrier who loves to play as much as he loves to nap. So whether your dog is a high energy breed or a relaxed senior, Harley will match your dog’s energy level. He can be your doggo’s bff or give them space as needed. He loves a fellow squishy face and often falls in love with the pugs that stay and play with us. He loves to make friends and will be as excited to see you as your dog during pickup.

Harley works as much as we do to take care of your dog by frequently requesting potty or stretch breaks outside, enforcing meal times, warming up doggy beds for guests and digging plenty of toys out of the basket. He has been a dog sitter himself for the majority of his life.

Harley has two sisters who have joined our pack. We've adopted a 2 yrs old mini Australian shepherd named Ginger. She's super playful, but she is still very fearful of other humans. You will probably not meet her, but you might hear her upon your arrival. We are working to build her confidence and helping her to feel safe. Thank you for your understanding during this training!

Harley also has a new baby human sister! She just joined our pack in April. We have procedures in place to keep the baby and dogs safely separated while ensuring all of our dogs still get to be integrated into our family with our home style of sitting.

Mandi has been caring for dogs while their pawrents are away for 17 years. She has emergency/animal CPR training and experience with medications and senior dog care. Cesar has been a dog walker for 6 years in addition to caring for dogs in our home. With our schedules, typically someone is always home, but if that is a requirement for your dog’s care please let us know ahead of time. In addition to Rover's insurance, we have a 3rd party insurance policy because your dog's care is our priority.

OUR POLICIES

2) When possible we like have a Meet & Greet in a neutral public meeting place before your dog’s first stay, but exceptions can be made. Please note that only Harley will be attending the M&G. If on short notice or you are here for vacation, definitely reach out to us and we can make accommodations.
