“Sarah is great! She. welcomes Toby, an exuberant labradoodle, with open arms. He loved his stay with her. She follows directions carefully and asks questions when needed. I recommend!”

“We love having our pup stay with Heather! He’s an elderly pup so seeing him get excited on the ride to her place is wonderful because he knows he's going to have a great time. He loves being there so much and we always know our quirky old dog is absolutely in excellent hands. As always, Heather provided an exceptional level of care and compassion throughout the entire duration of my pup's stay. My dog's physical and emotional well-being were clearly prioritized as he was taken for lots of leisurely walks and spent so much time being pet and cuddled. I know he thoroughly enjoyed his stay, as he returned home visibly content, relaxed and generally very happy.”

“Michael and Casey took amazing care of our dog Penny while we were away for a holiday trip. They kept us posted on how she was doing, and even connected with our vet when there was an issue while we were away. I can't recommend them enough, we will definitely reach out to them again and hope they're available to take care of Penny in the future.”

“Our Golden Doodle & our Pug spent 3 nights with Brandie and her family. The Boys got to play with other dogs in the backyard and be loved by Brandies family! Thank you Brandie, I know they will want to come play for the day very soon!”

“Earl was great to work with! He is easy going and great with animals. He was flexible with drop off and pick up times. I would definitely recommend this provider and we will surely be using him again in the future.”

“Diego had an excellent stay with Crystal and Rosie (her dog). I received updates and pictures along the way and I really appreciated Crystal taking such great care of Diego. 100% recommend!”

“ My two Labradoodles stayrd the Memorial Day weekend with Marion Russo. They had a wonderful time playing with her and her dogs. When I brought them home they were relaxed and tired. I will use Marion's services whenever she is available. A great experience.”

“Deborah did an excellent job of watching my fur baby, Chico. Being that he is elderly and usually only watched by family members, I was a little nervous. Deborah put me at ease and provided video updates throughout Chico’s stay. I would absolutely recommend her.”

“Stacie and her family were amazing! They took such great care of Ginger and gave her so much love and attention. I felt completely comfortable knowing she was safe and happy with them. Stacie was always quick to respond and sent photos while we were away, which we really appreciated. We would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for someone to care for their dog.”

“This has been our dog's second stay with Amber and Michael, and they have been fantastic! Amber keeps us informed with updates and pictures so that we can feel relaxed and confident that our dog is being well cared for. I would highly recommend them!”

“Alexis was great. I had to make a last minute booking and she was very prompt to arrange a meeting with my dog and I. I left Nikki at Alexis overnight and she took great care of her. She even accommodated her sleeping needs. Alexis has a beautiful property with lots of space for the doggies to run around and feel free. I will definitely bring Nikki to Alexis again!”

“Sheila took amazing care of our dog, Gus. She provided daily updates and pictures/videos. We took comfort in knowing our large Cane Corso was in reliable hands. She gave us useful feedback when we returned and made sure we knew how our dog did while we were gone. She has a lot of good canine knowledge and she doesn’t just “watch” your pup, she provides them with a place that has structure, toys and enrichment available.”

“We were very happy with Loki’s care. They were kind and everything went smoothly. Loki really enjoyed spending time with their family and felt comfortable and happy. About: My husband and I have had animals in our lives for as long as we can remember. We share our home with cats and a dog, volunteer with local humane societies, and have experience fostering and caring for kittens. We’re also comfortable with senior pets and pets with medical needs after reviewing their routines with you. We serve the Hidden Valley Lake area only. We can care for pets in your home, or welcome them into ours if they’re comfortable around cats. We require a meet and greet before any booking so everyone, including our own pets, feels comfortable. While your pet is with us, we’ll follow their routine and treat them like family. My husband is retired, and I work from home, so we can give pets attention throughout the day. We plan care around each pet’s needs, whether that means visits in your home or a stay in ours. We start with a meet and greet to learn your pet’s routine and decide together whether they’d be most comfortable in your home or ours. Cats are our specialty, and we also enjoy caring for dogs who are comfortable with everyday walks and visits. We don’t offer dog training or behavior modification. A stay in our home depends on your pet being comfortable around our six cats and large dog. We have a fully fenced side yard and a fenced backyard, and visiting pets are always supervised outdoors.
“Michelle is wonderful! Even though our dog is nervous in new situations, she made Callie feel welcomed and safe right away. Michelle was a great communicator before and during the stay. I won’t hesitate to book with Michelle again!!”

“Heather is amazing! Daisy had a great time and came back with no anxiety from being away from us or from her home. We will use Heather from now on. When we first met with Heather she was very concerned about making sure that Daisy fit in well with all the other dogs. She has a specific routine of where you drop off and pick up (different door) to keep the feels of the dog consistent - this is where i go to visit Heather, this is where i go when mommy and daddy pick me up. Also, she sent us cute video's and pictures of Daisy while we were away - that made us feel very relaxed as well. Thank you Heather and Rover.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Kellogg home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Kellogg.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Kellogg sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
