“This was our first time ever using Rover as we just acquired a rescue puppy. Jodi was the perfect match for our fur baby. She understood his need for walks and his “zoomies” (periods of over excitement). I could not have picked a better sitter. During our absence she sent us pictures and updates which made us feel near him. I cannot say enough great things but rest assured she will always be our go to person for Maverick.”

“Margit and Bill are great with our dog Peaches. They send lot of picture and Peaches has a great time with her other dogs. Peaches feels right at home!! We have been very lucky to have such a great environment for our dog.”

“Julie is one of Milo’s favorite sitters! This app only allows 30% tip and she is worth so much more!! She takes pictures and updates me through out his stay and shows that she is very attentive to Milo!! Thanks Julie!!!”

“Beth and Ron did an amazing job with Apollo. They are caring animal lovers and put a lot of thought and effort into Apollo's care. They gave valuable updates and feedback. I'd use them again anytime.”

About: I cat and dog sit for my family members regularly. I have cared for dogs of all sizes and breeds. I’ve been riding horses since I was 10 and started working on the farm when I was 12. I am available wherever, whenever. Whenever you need me there, I’ll be there. I will figure out a way for your animal to have top tier care. I would care for my clients home just as I would care for mine. I would never want anyone to disrespect my home therefore I would never disrespect anyone else’s.
“Cory was friendly and knew a lot about puppies. We were very comfortable leaving our six month old Finnegan with him. He has a big yard and a fenced in deck. I would bring Finnegan the next time I’m in the area.”

“Paige was great. She was available on short notice and was accommodating to a weird drop-off time due to bad weather. She was attentive to my animals needs and it was obvious my pup had a great time with her. She sent tons of pictures and videos and gave comprehensive daily updates. I would absolutely recommend this sitter and will be using her again in the future.”

“Lamar and his family are absolutely amazing! We found out at the last minute that our Airbnb didn’t allow pets, and I was devastated trying to find someone I could trust to care for my little guy. From the moment we met Lamar, he made us feel so welcome and immediately put my mind at ease. Throughout Gus’s stay, he sent us photos and updates, which meant so much and reassured us that he was happy, safe, and well cared for. It’s clear that Lamar is incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, and genuinely loves animals. I am so grateful we found him, especially on such short notice. I highly recommend Lamar to anyone looking for exceptional pet-sitting services. We will absolutely choose him again whenever we’re back in Ocean City. I only wish he lived closer to us!”

“It was a pleasure working with Kathy. She is responsive and attentive with communication. I can tell she genuinely loves dogs and enjoys getting to know their personalities. Her home is clean and well cared for, the neighborhood is residential and safe for dog walking just as described. Sadie is a most gracious host too. Thank you for taking such good care of my Hawk. Talk to you in November!!”

“Jess and her entire family were amazing! We had a great experience boarding our cocker spaniel with them. They treated our puppy like one of their own. He had a great time with the kids. Jess was communicative and accommodating and we truly appreciated them taking care of Orion.”

“Our dog, who can be a wee bit nervous, had such a lovely time with Jeremiah and his family! They were so kind and communicative, and we’ll happily trust them to care for her again. She can’t wait to be back for snuggles with the kids!”

“This is the second time that we have used Irena for our dachshund, Koop, and both experiences have been great! Koop seems to enjoy being there, from what I hear, he gets along well with her dog, Louie. She sent us pictures throughout our trip as well. We will definitely be using Irena again the next time we need someone to watch Koop!”

“I am not sure if I should feel good or bad about the fact that when I picked up my dog he was more interested in following Jenna back inside her house instead of wanting to hop into the car with me. Obviously, he had a very enjoyable time with her.”

About: I currently have a cat and a golden retriever and would love to help you take care of your dog while you are in need. I work from home Monday through Friday so my schedule allows me to be very flexible for potty breaks and general playtime while I'm taking care of your best friend. We have over 3/4 of an acre of property and are also located in the heart of Berlin...So a walk or outside playtime is no problem.
“McCray was great, will definitely use him in the future to care for my girl. She’s very sensitive, she does not like being away from her home. Well, we arrive at McCrays home for the 1st time ever, Rita jumps out the car and runs to the door, like she knows where she’s going! And when we returned after our trip to collect her, so excited to see our girl, she stared out the back window of the car as we drove away and she’s been moping around the house ever since we got home! Thanks McCray!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Salisbury
Our pup stayed with Anmei for week and came home happy, healthy and relaxed. This was the first time we had ever left her that long but Anmei took such great care of her that we do not have any reservations about doing so again. Thank you, Anmei, for being such a great Bee keeper! ♥️

Khadijah and her family house sat my fur baby Shiva twice in the span of two weeks. They sent photos and updates regularly. The last time Shiva had an upset stomach and threw up. They took very good care of her during that time, which I am very grateful for! I would highly recommend Khadijah and definitely plan to use her services again. Again, thanks for taking care of Shiva while she had an upset stomach.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
