“Dawn is a good communicator, keeping us in touch with our Rocky’s well being and sending pictures to let us know he was enjoying His vacation too. We were very happy with Dawn’s care of our dog. Thank you.”

“Our experience with Colleen was truly outstanding! From the very beginning, she demonstrated a level of professionalism and care that immediately put us at ease. It was clear that her top priority was Storm's well-being and comfort. Colleen took the time to ask thoughtful, detailed questions to fully understand Storm’s needs and personality, which spoke volumes about her dedication. Her home is not only beautiful but also a calm and welcoming environment—Storm settled in with ease. We felt confident and reassured knowing our dog was in such attentive and loving hands. Colleen went above and beyond, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Highly recommend her to anyone seeking top-notch, compassionate care for their furry family member! Thank you so much!”

“This was my first experience with Margit and Bill and it could not have gone better! My dog felt comfortable right from the start – it was like he had known them forever. They have three adorable well-behaved dogs who got along wonderfully with mine. It was clear that Margit and Bill truly love animals and provide a safe, happy environment. I felt totally at ease, knowing my dog was in such good hands. I’ll definitely be booking with them again!”

“My pup was well cared for by Beth and Ron. The communication was great, and I got several pictures sent to me during my time away. It’s a nice feeling to know your animals are safe when you have to go out of town. Thanks ?”
About: I’ve had dogs for all of my life and currently I have two of my own. I’ve gotten asked a lot to watch peoples dogs, and I always make sure that I prioritize their needs to make everyone happy. I do walk as much as I can and I run as well, I enjoy playing with the dogs and giving some belly rubs! I currently work part time and I make my schedule a week ahead of time so I plan accordingly for the needs of the pets. My schedule ranges all different times so I would be able to come let the dogs out or play with the cats in 2 to 4 hour intervals depending on my shifts which usually start in the late afternoon. I make sure that the pets needs are prioritized, and I make sure that anything the owner has requested of me to do for the pet will be met. If there are any messes, I will clean them up and if there are any specific instructions, I will follow to T.
About: I have been house sitting animals for about a year now in my home town. I have house sat all different size dogs and cats and have even done week long house sitting for the animals. I just recently moved to college and stopped dog sitting but I am ready to continue doing what I love! I am currently a full time college student at Salisbury University. I am done my classes everyday after 12pm and am available anytime on the weekends. I can't wait to spend quality time with your fur babies. I plan to give them my full attention, make sure they are well fed, well exercised, and overall well taken care of when they're in my possession:)

“We had such a wonderful experience leaving our 11 year old Chihuahua with Kathy. This was the first time we left Tootsie with someone after having her 2 years. Tootsie has a bad back and seizure medication to take. Kathy was very careful to listen to all our concerns. She updated us twice daily with a lovely note about her day and a picture. We knew she was in great hands and we enjoyed our week with no worries. Tootsie had a wonderful time and had all her needs met. She had multiple walks a day and lots of attention. I highly recommend Kathy without any hesitation!”

“Kendra is amazing! She was so great with my dog Beans, loving, cuddling, playing. She included him in everything! She is very patient and empathetic and very responsive. I will be sending Beans back to her when I am back in Delaware!”

“Jill was absolutely fantastic and took care of Storm like her own dog. She kept me in the loop everyday with emails and wonderful pictures/videos. I highly recommend Jill and will be a repeat customer. Thank you!!”

“Pudding had a great time with Jodi! We were given regular updates with photos, and never worried for one minute that he wasn't in great care. He enjoyed all of his lovely walks! Thank you so much for looking after him.”

“We were very pleased with Cory, he kept me informed of how teddy was doing. Even though Cory has cats and teddy was not a fan of them he handle the situation great. !!!!!”

“McCray was great, will definitely use him in the future to care for my girl. She’s very sensitive, she does not like being away from her home. Well, we arrive at McCrays home for the 1st time ever, Rita jumps out the car and runs to the door, like she knows where she’s going! And when we returned after our trip to collect her, so excited to see our girl, she stared out the back window of the car as we drove away and she’s been moping around the house ever since we got home! Thanks McCray!”

“Jenna kept me updated with photos throughout Sunny’s stay. She was super responsive from our first contact. I could tell Sunny was relaxed in her home and happy to hang out with her new kitty friend, Boo.”

“ABSOLUTELY THE BEST PROVIDER I'VE FOUND/USED ON ROVER. TOOK CARE OF MY BERNESE MT DOG FOR A WEEK WHILE WE VACATIONED IN OC MD. WONDERFUL PEOPLE, WONDERFUL ENVIRONMENT. WOULD RECOMMEND WHOLEHEARTEDLY AND USE AGAIN NEXT TIME.”

“What a beautiful family! Jessica thank you for welcoming my girls into your home. You made an overnight stay stress-less! Thanks for all the pictures and updates! Take good care and we’ll see you again.”

“Rachel did a great job of caring for our Daisy. Daisy loved playing with Scooby and Damsel. It was so cute to see Scooby playing with Daisy considering their size difference. I will definitely use Rachel again!!”

About: I have had dogs since I was a baby. I have cared for dogs of every stage of life, and I’m super passionate about senior dogs and small animals. Both my dogs are friendly with ferrets and other small animals, always supervised of course. I have experience in dogs, cats, ferrets, and all rodents. No experience with reptiles but I have read a lot about the husbandry of geckos and bearded dragons. Always willing to learn to have your pet be most comfortable in our home. I currently am a stay at home mom so I have plenty of extra time for animals. We (my boyfriend and I) already dedicate a huge portion of our time to our dogs so we would love to add more to the mix lol. My daughter (5yo) also loves animals and is learning the ropes of helping take care of them. We have a very big yard, and while it’s not fenced in there is still plenty of space to run on a lead! I can also help with potty training, pad training and lead training as well as socializing with our two very friendly goofy dogs.
“Julie is one of Milo’s favorite sitters! This app only allows 30% tip and she is worth so much more!! She takes pictures and updates me through out his stay and shows that she is very attentive to Milo!! Thanks Julie!!!”

Our pup stayed with Anmei for week and came home happy, healthy and relaxed. This was the first time we had ever left her that long but Anmei took such great care of her that we do not have any reservations about doing so again. Thank you, Anmei, for being such a great Bee keeper! ♥️

Khadijah and her family house sat my fur baby Shiva twice in the span of two weeks. They sent photos and updates regularly. The last time Shiva had an upset stomach and threw up. They took very good care of her during that time, which I am very grateful for! I would highly recommend Khadijah and definitely plan to use her services again. Again, thanks for taking care of Shiva while she had an upset stomach.

Marcus was a lifesaver, he saved my vacation! Last minute booking when my original pet sitter was snowed in with zero power or water. My girl was so happy when I picked her up. Marcus was good about sending pics the entire 7 days. Thanks Marcus for taking care of Ms. Rita! Oh and an added bonus is Marcus’s location is only 15 minutes from the airport!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
