About: I’ve grown up around dogs and my family currently has four, so I’ve had lots of hands-on experience caring for them over the years. I’m a huge animal lover and I’m comfortable with feeding, walking, playtime, potty breaks, and giving dogs plenty of attention and affection. I understand that every dog has their own personality and routine, and I’ll always follow your instructions carefully and treat your pet with the same care I give my family’s dogs. I’m a college student with a flexible schedule, and I’m happy to make time for pet care around my classes and other commitments. I’m available for walks, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, and plenty of attention. I’ll always communicate clearly about my availability and make sure your pet gets the care and time they need. I will always treat your pet and home with care and respect. I’m comfortable following specific feeding, walking, crate, and daily routine instructions, and I’ll make sure doors, gates, and leashes are secure at all times. I’ll give your pet plenty of attention and can also send updates and photos so you know they’re safe and happy while you’re away.

“Carla is so gentle with Leo and sweet. She truly has a heart for animals and I feel so blessed to have found her. Leo and I look forward to Carla assisting us in the future.”

“Diana was a pleasure to have watch our fuzzy family. She was prompt, communicative, and kind. Diana even excelled at having to provide our one cat his daily syringes, despite being unfamiliar with orally medicating cats beforehand. I highly recommend Diana for your pet-sitting needs.”

“Jackie has been absolutely wonderful to work with. She replies instantly and keeps me updated. I am new to pet ownership and having someone look after them while I have to travel for work. She has been amazing every step of the way.”

“We are so grateful to have found Dawn. She is wonderful with our senior cat and it was so refreshing to be able to get away for a few days and not worry about her. Excellent communication and above and beyond care of our beloved pet and our home. Much appreciated. Will definitely book again.”

“This was our first time using someone on Rover and we are very satisfied with Lauren’s help caring for our two girls. She provided lots of pictures too! We would highly recommend her to others and will be using her again.”

About: I love taking care of dogs! There are so many different types of dogs I’ve gotten to meet and it so great seeing all the different personality’s. I have a 5-month-old Goldendoodle who I’ve been training since he was a puppy. We’re currently working on basic obedience, and he’s making great progress. Our next goal is to begin the training needed for him to become a therapy dog. Training him has given me hands-on experience with positive reinforcement, consistency, and understanding each dog’s unique personality and needs. I’m currently a student so I have a lot of open availability. I can always drop in before or after class, or whichever is necessary. I have a big fenced in yard that my dogs love to run around in. It is big enough for them to get there zoomies out!
“Coming to visit my 4 cats once a day worked out with multiple cat litters. However, they HID from Kate every day! All ended well and they came out glad to see me after 4 days. I appreciate that she tried and kept them well fed until I returned!”

“Josey was great!! Ziggy needed a friend to stop in while we were out of town and she visited as planned, but went above and beyond with communication and her friendliness with Ziggy. Looking forward to have Josey stay with Ziggy again!”

Dawn was an excellent sitter. It was our first time using her services. She took time with our pet so they could get used to her and warm up to her. I think by the end of the booking our pet was doing well with Dawn. I will be retaining her services again the next time we go out of town.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Salisbury. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
