Joseph took such good care of Pablo! Cold or snow! Got plenty of outdoor time. Pablo recovered so quickly from tummy issues in Joseph’s care. Extra pampering, extra outdoor time, extra cuddles. Pablo loves Joseph!

Raelyn was able to watch our dog with short notice. She was professional and polite. I was nervous because my dog is very energetic and anxious but Raelyn handled him very well. She said she was able to get him to interact with other dogs and he seemed to to well overall. I'd definitely use Raelyn again and I recommend her.

About: I own It takes a village animal rescue, though I am taking a 2 year break, I have had 451 dogs come through my rescue in the last 10 years. I can help with house training, and basic puppy skills. I have probably had about 100 plus puppies in the last 10 years. I have a facebook account for the rescue and you can see all that My Volunteers and I have done over the years. Dogs must be neutered or spayed. Pet care has been a way of life for me for the last 10 years, I own an animal rescue, but am taking a 2 year hiatus, but miss haveing dogs around all day. I am home 90% of the time so I am there to let dogs out who might not be potty trained or sometimes it is just for company, laying on the couch watching TV and getting rubbed. I have a fenced in yard with lots of room to roam. I also have Mr Donovan, 110 pound hound mix that lost his 2 playmates in the last 2 months, so he would love having anotherfriend to hang/ play with.

Liza had a great time with Jen!! Jen is really caring and was really attentive to put Liza at ease, not always a simple task as Liza has separation anxiety. Jen was very responsive, took a bunch of pictures, and sent me lots of updates. I really appreciated it and highly recommend her!

About: With years of hands-on animal experience, I’ve fostered kittens, raised service dog puppies, and worked at a reptile and fish store during college. Throughout school, I also rescued and rehomed animals in need. Today, I share my home with two German Shepherds, one actively training and one just beginning her journey. I’m passionate about positive reinforcement, structured care, and creating an environment where animals feel safe, confident, and loved. From high-energy working dogs to small pets, I understand that every animal has unique needs and deserves patient, knowledgeable care. Your pet will be treated like family and cared for with the same attention and dedication I give my own. I can be flexible and happy to work with your schedule, whether your pet has specific needs, preferred routines, or particular days that work best. Just let me know how I can help make their stay as comfortable as possible! I live in a quiet, pet-friendly, one-story home with minimal stairs and a spacious, secure yard perfect for dogs who enjoy fresh air and room to play. Inside, I use gates to thoughtfully separate areas of the home, allowing me to create a calm, structured environment tailored to each pet’s comfort and needs. Im happy to accommodate crate-trained dogs and have dedicated space available for rest and decompression when needed. Our cats have their own separate room and can remain fully separated to ensure a safe, low-stress environment for everyone. Whether your pet enjoys exploring the yard, structured playtime, or relaxing in a cozy spot indoors, I strive to make them feel safe, comfortable, and right at home.

About: We got our first pup in 2011. All 3 dogs we’ve owned have been since they were puppies. We’ve taken care of pups who require shots and pills. We treat pups in our house like family members. My husband and I have off weekends. My husband works from home so dogs get let out frequently. I’m a high school teacher so I also have summers off. We’re happy to follow your routines so they feel at home. I have 2 friendly dogs who love kids & pups. We just ask that your pup is friendly with kids and dogs, and is comfortable being crated for short periods of time, if needed.

About: Hi there! I am the ultimate animal lover. I have great experience with dogs and I am heavily involved in animal rescue. I am home full time with 3 little rescued dogs of my own. One of mine is a handicapped Chihuahua, another is a Shih-tzu (all the way from California) and lastly, my sweet Shih-tzu mix who is a senior. I also have 2 senior cats. All are lovable well mannered pets who get along with other cats and dogs. I often pet sit for my grown children, neighbors & friends. To me, dogs are not just "pets".. They are given full access to every room in my house and welcome aboard all furniture. I live steps away from Riverview Park. Here I can take dogs on many strolls like I do my own. If you wish your dog not to socialize with mine, don't worry! I have plenty of room and can easily separate the dogs upon request. I also can come to your house for dog walks, day care and sit with your pet if you want to keep them on the same routine. My husband is an excellent assistant when needed. And of course a loving dog and cat dad. I have a pet stroller for senior dogs, pet raincoats & sweaters, baby gates, and boxes of toys! I I have all areas covered. I feel if you love your dog, you want them as comfortable as can be, and I am a true animal lover with a big heart and a home where dogs (and cats) are always welcome. I am very flexible in accommodating your fur babies schedule. My dogs are on my husbsnds work schedule. Just for routine potty in the yard and morning feedings. I play with the pets toys with them . And of course give them some TLC and walks of course. Or just sit out where ever the owner prefers just to give them air. And of course approved meals and snacks , owner approved . And keeping their fur baby on their specific routine.

About: I’m a devout animal lover with three dogs of my own (including a senior) and one cat. Caring for animals is truly one of my favorite joys in life! My ultimate goal is to give your dog a home away from home when they’re in my care. My dogs range in age from 5-11 years and weights of 11lbs to 55lbs. My cat is 7 years old and a tabby. My senior dog has lung cancer so I’m also experienced in delivering oral medication, round the clock care and attention, and moving at their pace. Your baby will be well taken care of. I work remote so I am able to give your dog lots of love and attention throughout the day. Your dog will be able to take potty breaks every two hours in the fenced-in yard and spend time outside. We typically go for walks in the early morning and late evening. My Rover calendar is flexible updated daily so that I can support any urgent needs, where necessary. Boarding & Daycare: My ultimate goal is to give your dog a home away from home! I only board one dog at a time so that I can give them adequate individualized attention all throughout the day. You will not find a sitter in Wilmington that is as attentive as I am. My pets are kept separate during boarding. Your dog will have access to the entire first floor and the fenced in-backyard. I have a dedicated bedroom for boarding where I can sleep with dogs who may have separation anxiety to ensure they are comfortable. Drop-in visits & Walks: I‘ll take my time getting to know your dog and make sure they’re comfortable with me being there. I like to sit with them for a few minutes before and after each walk to feel out their energy levels. On walks, I recognize that this is their social time so I go at their pace and let them get plenty of sniff time. I am very respectful of your home and will follow your instructions closely.

FAQs for Doggy Day Care - Salem

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 1,301 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Salem. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Salem commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 1,301 sitters in Salem, 85% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
