About: Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up with a Cane Corso, which gave me firsthand experience living with and caring for a large, powerful breed from an early age. Over the years, I’ve also cared for cats, parrots, chinchillas, and fish—including a household of seven Maine Coons—so I’m comfortable around animals with very different personalities and needs. I eventually turned that lifelong experience into professional pet sitting, caring for dogs and cats for about a year. That experience taught me that good pet care goes beyond feeding and walks. Every animal has their own routine, temperament, boundaries, and way of communicating, and I make an effort to understand and respect those differences. I’m comfortable with dogs of different sizes, including large breeds, and I’m patient with animals that need time to become comfortable with someone new. I’ll carefully follow your instructions regarding feeding, walks, playtime, routines, and any other specific care your pet requires. As an active-duty Soldier at Fort Campbell, reliability and attention to detail are important to me. I also understand how unpredictable military schedules can be. Whether you’re dealing with a long duty day, field exercise, TDY, or simply need someone dependable while you’re away, my goal is to make sure your pets are safe, comfortable, and well cared for. You can expect clear communication, photos, and updates while your pets are in my care—because you shouldn’t have to wonder how they’re doing while you’re away. As an active-duty Soldier at Fort Campbell, I keep a structured routine and plan my pet-sitting availability around my military schedule. I’m generally available outside of duty hours, including evenings and weekends, and I keep my Rover calendar updated so I only accept bookings I know I can reliably fulfill. I also understand that military life doesn’t always follow the original plan. Long duty days, field exercises, TDY, and last-minute schedule changes happen, so I especially understand clients who need dependable pet care when their own schedules become unpredictable. When I accept a booking, I make that commitment part of my schedule and ensure I have enough time to give your pet proper care and attention rather than trying to squeeze in as many visits as possible. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I treat both the animal and the home with respect. I follow the owner’s instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, medications or special care instructions, household rules, and any areas that are off-limits. Safety always comes first. I make sure doors, gates, leashes, and harnesses are secure before moving a pet in or out of the home, and I pay attention to the animal’s behavior rather than forcing interaction. I’m comfortable giving shy or cautious pets the time and space they need to become familiar with me. I also believe trust comes from communication. I’ll provide photos and updates during visits and let you know if I notice anything unusual with your pet or their environment. As an active-duty Soldier, accountability and attention to detail are important parts of my everyday life. When you trust me with your pet and access to your home, I take that responsibility seriously.

About: I've taken care of my own dog for the past 8 years, but before that I was raised around dogs and other animals. My grandparents and uncle always had multiple dogs for hunting, so I am very comfortable around and them and developed a love for dogs at a young age. I have dog sat on various occasions over the past 10 years, and I would love to continue to do it while I’m on the job search. I have a relatively flexible schedule throughout the week since I am pregnant and out of work for the moment, so in most cases would be more than willing to try and work something out. I am currently living in a house with my own dog so I would rather not be doing home services on my end but it is possible for well behaved dogs since my dog is very friendly.

“Brittany did an absolutely amazing job! She showed up on time every day for a week and came by three times a day to care for our pets. She followed all of our instructions and went above and beyond by taking care of our two cats and our dog. She was also very communicative and kept us updated throughout the week. You can genuinely tell how much she LOVES animals! We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter, and she will definitely be our go-to every time. We highly recommend her! ❤️🐾 She is so sweet and has an outstanding personality as well!!!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs basicly all my life. I currently have an Australian Shepherd that is five years old. He is good with other dogs. He has separation anxiety, so I know how to take care of that as well. I work full-time at the University. I go on daily walks with my own dogs. I’m pretty free after work. You’re dog will feel at home:) I have a fenced in yard and I live in a house, so I have plenty of space for your pet. I also make sure that they get plenty of exercise.

About: I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember and have been caring for pets since I was young. As I have previously worked in veterinary medicine I have experience with dogs of different sizes, personalities, and energy levels, and I understand how important it is to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved. As a pet owner myself, I know how much peace of mind it brings to know your pets are in good hands. I will treat your pets like my own, follow their routines, and make sure they get plenty of attention, care, and affection while you’re away. I’m currently not working, so I have a flexible schedule and plenty of time to care for your pets! I’m available throughout the week and on weekends. I have pets of my own, so I understand how important it is to find someone trustworthy who will treat your pets like family. I’ll make sure your pups get lots of love, attention, playtime, and potty breaks while you’re away! I provide a clean, welcoming environment with plenty of attention, playtime, potty breaks, and cuddles. I always prioritize each pet’s individual needs and routine, and I’ll make sure they’re supervised and cared for like they’re part of my own family. I also follow the owner’s instructions to help keep their pets happy and safe!

“This girl is INCREDIBLE!!! My pup is terrified of loud noises. Jennifer took care of her New Year’s Day. The neighborhood was shooting fireworks. My pup gypsy was so scared she was hiding under the deck. Jennifer got down on her hands and knees in the mud and bribed gypsy with treats and a baby voice to come out from under there and back inside. I could tell Jennifer truly cared for my pups! I will be using her again for sure!!”

FAQs for Pet Sitting - Saint Elmo

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost of Pet Sitting in Saint Elmo is $20 per visit as of November 2026. Most bookings cost between $14 and $34 per visit. On Rover, sitters set their own rates based on factors such as their experience, the length of care, the number of pets, and your pet’s specific needs. As long as your booking dates and pet profiles are accurate, the price shown before you confirm is the total, including any booking fee.

As of November 2026, there are 474 sitters on Rover offering Pet Sitting across Saint Elmo. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Saint Elmo. On Rover:

  • 87% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
