3 dogs, 2 cats, dozens of pond fish, plants demanding attention -- Brian took care of it all! Our dogs can be wary of newcomers and Brian was able to win them over in little time. We felt very confident leaving so much in Brian's hands and he didn't disappoint. We even came home after almost 2 weeks to a clean and tidy house. We will definitely be using Brian in the future!

Wendy was absolutely fabulous with both Leda & Zenzi - the care she gave my 2 girls was outstanding - she treated them like they were her own dogs. Wendy updated me daily a few times a day with photos & videos & text messages of Leda & Zenzi. I can't wait to have Wendy back - the dogs were relaxed and content when we came home from vacation. I was relaxed as well knowing that they were in good hands!

About: I have been dogsitting since I was about 14 years old for my neighbors, and in adulthood have become the go-to dogsitter for many of my friends. While I am not at a point in my life to have a dog of my own, I absolutely love them and have experience caring for my family dog, which is why people trust me with their babies. This started as an opportunity to get some much-needed dog time, but I have turned it into a side hustle as well! I am currently in between jobs so my schedule can be very flexible including morning, day, and night time hours. I am originally from Hatboro, PA and will be moving back there from Chicago in July. I am available beginning July 14th. I will take care of your dog or cat as if they are my own. The main reason I began pet sitting is because I love them so much, but I’m not in at a point in my life to take on having one on my own. I have extensive experience with walking and in-house sitting dating back 15 years.

If I could leave a rating on this site greater than a 5 I would - she's simply outstanding! Trustworthy, respectful, loves pets and what she does, immediately responds to texts, caring, followed instructions I left to follow, personable, and polite. I am extremely picky and clean with my house, Danielle stayed 4 days and my house was exactly as I left it to which I was very grateful. My dog absolutely loves her!

Leaving your beloved pet, family member, to be cared for by someone new is scary. Dawn was our miracle. We were very happy with Dawn and her care for Riley. She took care of Riley as we requested, exercising her, walking her, spending time with her. We really appreciated her numerous communications with us, text messages and pictures several times daily which made us feel even more comfortable and at ease. Dawn was professional, caring and supportive! Thank you very much Dawn.

I had a last minute cancellation for pet sitting and was able to find Peter whom did a wonderful job at taking care of my dog. He took my dog on nice walking trails and gave me suggestions on caretaking him. Peter is really down to earth and I believe my dog really trusted and enjoyed his company. I am very grateful to Peter and hope he has success in pet sitting in the future!

About: I have 3 older extra large dogs, 1 young medium dog, and 1 senior small dog. I’ve also had cats in my family. I’m used to caring for different sizes, ages, and energy levels, from slow walks with seniors to keeping up with younger, more active dogs. I’m comfortable with feeding routines, walks, and just making sure pets feel safe and cared for while their owners are away. I work part time from 12–3 on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, but my schedule is flexible and can change. Outside of those hours, I’m available mornings, evenings, and weekends, which gives me plenty of time to give pets consistent care, walks, feeding, and attention. I’m able to adjust my availability when needed. At my home, I have a large fenced yard where my dogs can safely play and spend time outside. I walk, feed, and play with them daily, and make sure they stay on a consistent routine. I’m very attentive to their needs and always make time for exercise, enrichment, and care throughout the day. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their usual routine as closely as possible. I make sure they are fed on time, have fresh water, get walks and playtime if needed, and feel comfortable and safe in their environment. I’m patient, reliable, and always treat every pet like my own.

Talia was the best pet sitter we've had in 12 years. She spent tons of time with the animals and they really liked her. Both our 15 month old German Shepherd Dog and Siamese cat usually warm up to strangers very slowly, but they sure seemed to love her right away! Lots of pics and communication from Talia kept the worry down too. Book Talia as first choice if you can!

About: I’ve taken care of my own dogs since I was 12, as well as my neighbors dogs for the last 7 years. From pit bulls to golden retrievers, I love spending time with dogs of all breeds. Whether it be going on walks, playing fetch, or giving them love and attention, I’ll make sure your dog is safe and well cared for. I am available Monday-Thursday after 4 pm and have a very flexible and open schedule Friday-Sunday. I am incredibly reliable and my only obligation is my internship that runs from 7-3 Monday-Thursday. I have experience with crate training and walking all kinds of dog breeds. I have a crazy lab and plothoud mix at home so I am comfortable handling energetic dogs.

We hired Alyssa over Thanksgiving while we went out of the country for the holiday. We chose to have her stay at the house with Yuki because he’s a recent rescue and still a little anxious about his life. Alyssa stopped by a few days before our trip to meet our dog and make sure they were a good fit. They made fast friends and we booked her for the week. Alyssa kept in touch with us by sending texts and pictures throughout our trip to ensure us that Yuki was happy and thriving! Upon arriving home, we found the house in perfect order and she even washed the sheets and folded them up for us! She also wrote us a letter detailing the week and how Yuki did while she was watching him. I couldn’t recommend Alyssa enough! She was excellent with my (sometimes nervous) dog. I would definitely use her again in the future. Worth every penny!

Rebecca and Kyle did an excellent job taking care of our dog at our house for 6 days. We arrived back to a perfectly clean house and, more importantly, a happy, relaxed dog. Good communication throughout and even watered my plants during the heat wave. We're always nervous about having people stay at our house, but would definitely have Rebecca and Kyle back, without concern.

FAQs for House Sitting - Rushland

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Rushland on Rover is $35.76 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 5,648 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Rushland. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Rushland walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Rushland maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rushland choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Rushland. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
