“Cindy was absolutely wonderful with my senior cat. Great communication. And I loved seeing pics of my cat getting some love while I’m away cause I ALWAYS feel guilty leaving her home. 😸”

“Nina was amazing!!! She took great care of my two pups while I was out of town for several days. She kept me updated the entire time and sent the cutest pictures of my babies. I will be recommending her to all of my friends and family.”

“Chenelle was great and a life saver. We needed a sitter at the last minute and she made it so easy. We met the same day Inboxed her and she took amazing care of our pets. We did drop in visits and when we return home, she left everything clean and in order this was my first time using Rover and I could not have asked for a better experience.”

“This was our first time working with Kourtney for some midday drop-in visits with our dog Shadow. Everything was perfect, timeliness, attention to detail and communication. It's clear she's an animal lover which makes all the difference in the world.”

“If you are looking for a sitter to care for your pet that communicates clearly, always responds in a timely manner, gives you feedback and asks questions about how to best care for your beloved, please make Jennifer your 1st choice! She has been helping to take care of my 10 week old rescue pup via drop in visits while I am at work and I couldn't be happier to have found her! I always have confidence that he is in good hands when she is with him and will continue to book her in the future. You should, too!”

“Rhonie did a great job with our dog! She made sure she was well taken care of while we were out of town during a holiday weekend and our dog seemed to have a great time with her!”

About: Hi! My name is Carine, and I'm an NCSU alumna with over 9 years of professional experience working with dogs. I spent 2 years as a kennel technician before becoming a veterinary technician, a role I've held for the past 7 years. I've also volunteered with the SPCA of Wake County and have experience caring for pets of all ages, sizes, and personalities. In addition to my veterinary experience, I've been privately pet sitting for the past 5–6 years and have built lasting relationships with many repeat clients. I've cared for dogs, cats, and other pets with a wide range of temperaments, routines, and medical needs, and I understand how important it is to provide dependable, compassionate care while owners are away. I love spending time with dogs and have plenty of energy for long walks, playtime, and enrichment activities. I'm comfortable caring for puppies, senior pets, and pets with special medical needs. I can also administer medications, including oral, otic (ear), ophthalmic (eye), and injectable medications. Through my work as a veterinary technician, I have experience caring for diabetic pets, post-surgical patients, senior pets, and animals that are fearful, anxious, or require extra patience and gentle handling. As a current veterinary technician, your pet's health, safety, and comfort are always my top priorities. Whether your pet needs an adventure-filled walk, extra patience and care, or someone experienced with medical needs, I'll treat them like one of my own. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! I work full time so I can visit before work, during lunch and after. The days are variable based on my schedule but my days off are more flexible time wise I do drop in visits, they last anywhere from 30-90 minutes depending on what’s needed. Cats will get their litter box checked every visit. I make sure all pets have clean water provided at all times. I check for any messes, vomiting or diarrhea and will communicate thoroughly with pet parents as needed.
About: Hi! I’m Kiara. I live in a very nice apartment complex that has a huge dog park and also a nature trail. I've worked at both an Animal Shelter as well as an Animal Hospital as a Vet Assistant, and I’m currently working part-time at Banfield. Last summer, I took a part-time job at a doggy daycare and fell in love. I'm pretty much available, unless I'm out of town. My house is very pet friendly. I only allow dogs on the couch. I live in a two bedroom apartment, so there is a lot of room for your dog to enjoy. I like going for long walks (or short walks) with the dogs. For those dogs that aren't as energetic, laying on the couch watching tv works just fine. I'd recommend bringing any of your dogs favorite things with them to help them feel more at home.
“Highly recommend Bayleigh! She is a natural with dogs! First time Bayleigh came over our puppy instantly connected with her. Since then, Bayleigh not only takes Mia out twice during her visit, but they play together, go for walks, and Mia even eats with her which is rare when we are not around. She takes pictures every visit and gives an update of what they did together. She is great with communication, is reliable, and dependable thus giving us a peace of mind knowing she is in great care.”

“Richelle really went above and beyond this weekend with Rocky. I was really conflicted about leaving Rocky home over the weekend, but she made sure he got lots of exercise and love, and even worked to train him! She made it so much easier to enjoy my trip because I knew Rocky was being cared for well.”
About: My fiance Eric and I have had dogs our whole lives and genuinely enjoy caring for animals, going on walks and making sure pets feel safe, happy, and well cared for while their owners are away. We are available to take your pet/pets for walks multiple times a day, give them the attention they need, while offering them loving care throughout the day. We have a few greenways in our area where we will take your dog out for long walks. We have a small 15 pound Dachshund that loves company. Your dogs will be free to roam around the house with available food, water, and comfort.

Incredible cat sitter! Cindy was fantastic to work with while we were out of town. We came home to cats who were well taken care of and we greatly appreciate the care Cindy put into communication, pics of our babies, and the extra mile in making sure the space was taken care of as well.
Andrew is very caring with flash. He took him to walk in the woods which he loves. Flash played with his dog Zeke. Very responsive to answer for the texts . Comes in time. My house was kept clean. I highly recommend him for pet care. He is a 5 star sitter .

Amanda is incredible! I have 1 cat and Amanda and her family took great care of her! She sends recaps and pictures every day. Our cat has kidney issues and she had no problem with giving Kitty her medications and cleaning up her accidents. I would highly recommend Amanda and will be using her again!

Patti is absolutely fantastic! Our dog is very anxious and had a very big reaction the first night (even though we did a meet and greet). He went a little wild and Patti didn’t even blink an eye. Patti took complete control of the situation and was cool, calm and collected and was able to win him over with a lot of patience! I appreciate how proactive she was in communication, the detail to take care of our babies, and the hilarious report cards. All around a wonderful experience and can’t recommend Patti enough 🙌

Sara was absolutely wonderful taking care of our pets. I came home to very happy and well taken care of animals. It was nice to go on vacation and not have any worries on whether the animals were ok or not. I highly recommend Sara to anyone, she is a very caring and professional person

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
