“Irina is great. We set up a pre-meet with her and she was exactly on time and asked good questions about our dog. We departed early in the morning for our trip, and Irina was scheduled to come to the house at about 10 am to take him out for a walk. She checked-in afterward with us and sent a photo as well We think that Irina is excellent and strongly recommend her.”

About: I focus on creating a calm, loving environment where your dog feels safe, whether it’s their first time away from home or they need a little extra attention due to age or anxiety. I plan my schedule around the pets I’m caring for, making sure they get walks, playtime, meals, and attention right when they need it. Whether it’s early morning feedings, mid-day visits, or evening cuddles, I treat each pet like my own and make their care a top priority in my daily routine. I’m caring for pets in my client’s home, I respect their space and follow all instructions to the letter. I make sure pets are comfortable, safe, and happy in their own environment. Whether it’s feeding, walking, playtime, or just keeping them company, I handle it all with care and love.

About: I’ve had experience with a handful of different cats and dogs, from walking to house sitting, I also offer pet photography alongside your service. I am a quick learner, motivated, and would love to take care of your pet. I am in the process of preparing to start animal behavioral college, where I’ll be majoring in animal training. I’m currently on a break from work until the end of August/ early September so I can accommodate to your needs and have lots of time to play with your critters. I have a fenced large open patio and yard, the perfect spot with plenty of space for your fur baby/ies. I can also stay overnight at your house, I’m open, I will always leave your home better than I found it.

About: I have pet sat for many acquaintances over the years, as well nannying which included caring for family pets. I also have two cats of my own! I am currently wfh freelancers, I have plenty of availability in my schedule to care for other peoples furry guys! I have too small of an apartment to have a dog of my own - so my own pet care would never get in the way. I play with my cats every morning and night for at least two hours a day. I believe in a healthy diet for all animals, as well as providing an enriched home life for all domesticated animals. I am proudly in tune with an animal's body language and how the all vocalize their needs differently.

“Alexis is such an awesome sitter and she always goes above and beyond to keep me updated on my dog’s care. Receiving Alexis’ activity summaries and photos are a genuine highlight of my day. It is so awesome to know that my Gloria is in such good hands and having a great time while I am away. Alexis allowed me to take my senior dog out of daycare and she is so much happier now. I will continue booking with Alexis for as long as I can!”

About: Hi! My name is Kirsten and I’m an aspiring dog trainer with the hopes to eventually become a certified professional after I’m done with my undergraduate studies. I have cared for cats and dogs of all ages since I was very young, but within the last two years, I have learned more than ever about animal behavior through training my reactive Malinois rescue and seeking professional help. I have adopted the R+ approach to training my pup and treat most of our interactions with each other as training and enriching moments. As a result, I naturally begin training any dog I meet with lots of praise and owner-permitted treats. It is crucial to me that your animals trust me and feel as comfortable as they can. As such, I take great care to ensure that any animal I’m around is comfortable with our interactions by respecting boundaries and building trust at the animal’s pace. As your fur baby’s caretaker, I will provide all of the necessary physical and mental stimulation they need to keep them happy while you’re away! I am currently a student at UCB and will be caring for your pets between classes, so my ability to get to you depends on if there’s a bus stop nearby. My general availability is from 1 pm- 4:30 pm Monday - Thursday, and flexible on Fridays and weekends. This may change a bit as more class info comes out in the coming 2-3 weeks. I will care for your animals in your home and be respectful of your space, happy to follow all house rules that apply. I may play with your animals if they want to, but rest assured that the place will be spotless before you get home!

About: Hi, I’m Sophia! I made Oakland my home almost four years ago! Since my apartment does not allow pets, the time I get to spend with pets is extra special to me. I’ve been around animals my whole life and feel passionate about pet care and wellbeing. Walking and interacting with the dogs I’ve had has always been incredibly rewarding for me, and I want to bring my enthusiasm for dog care to others! I provide dog walking and drop-in services, with an emphasis on exploration and adventure. I love finding new walking routes and love exploring the city and trails in the Berkeley and Oakland hills. For drop-in’s I offer a personalized experience for each pet, and aim to ensure that by the time I leave they’re as happy as can be. Thanks so much for considering me to be a dog walker or care-giver. I can’t wait to explore and learn with your pet. I work from home full-time and am available for walks during the day. I mostly work an east coast schedule so am always down to go on a mid-afternoon hiking/trail adventure with your pup! I value creating a calm but clear environment for all the dogs I work with. I have experience training dogs in easy commands (sit, stay etc) and always communicate with the client about how to best communicate with their dogs, as well as any stickier behaviors that I should be aware of while caring for their pet.

About: OVERNIGHT BUNNY BOARDING AND DOG/CAT/BUNNY DROP-IN VISITS! *dog overnight boarding rates are actually for bunny clients. Hi! My name is Danielle, and I'm an animal lover to the core! While I had my special needs rabbit, I realized how hard it was to find an experienced bunny baby-sitter, especially one that was able to administer medications and care. Now that my little bun has passed away, I thought I could offer this much-needed service to other bunny parents out there. I work from home and between having been previously employed at House Rabbit Society Headquarters, and also at an animal hospital for just over 7 years, I have had both actual training and years of experience to bring to the table...well over 20 years! You can trust that I will care for your little one as if they were my own. I have experience with special needs (medications, injections, fluid therapy, food prep, etc.), as well as a valuable understanding of bunny, cat, and dog behaviors and body language. I treat animals like family members and your fur-baby will be no different! I very much look forward to meeting you and your furry loved one! :) I work from home, so I generally have a fairly flexible schedule and am present quite a bit, making it easier to maintain your baby's schedule and care routines and give lots of attention. I offer Bunny Boarding in my home for a single or bonded pair (or trio depending on their space needs). They stay in my office in my condo, which means I will be around them a lot throughout the day, and away from hub-bub of other animals (like you might expect at other boarding locations) so it's easy to keep things quite and low-stress. For drop-in visits for cats/dogs/bunnies, I tend to spend a moment with treats and greetings before going into play or for walks, showing them I am trust worthy. If they enjoy it, I love giving brushies, and using their favorite toys to play. Always happy to do a little focus work for treats, so if you want me to reinforce any training commands, I would be happy to. Cuddles and petties are an essential and core part of the menu (and personally my favorite part), but I always read body language and energy cues as to how much affection they are interested in at the moment.

About: Hi, I've worked with many different animals from meerkats and monkeys to cheetahs and bears. The wide variety of animals I've worked with has allowed me to understand animal care in a unique way. No matter the animal, I think it is important to stay calm and pay attention to their emotions and get to know them. When I take care of your pet they can expect plenty of walks, potty breaks and cuddles, while you can expect plenty of updates and photos! Since I do not have any pets of my own I get excited having animals over. I am able to keep to a routine, administer medications and alter my schedule to fit your pets needs. You will be leaving your furry (or not) friend in capable and caring hands. I cannot wait to hang with your pet! I'm currently on summer break, which means I am available for full time fun with your pet! My vacations are updated on the calendar, feel free to check it out. I love to get out of the house and go for walks in the neighborhood or in a park! When I watch your dog we will go on at least two long walks a day, stopping to sniff for as long as they'd like. If it’s your cat I am watching we will play with their favorite toy and get some pets in!

About: We have been fostering special needs dogs for the past 7 years, and due to family circumstances, we have to put a hold on that for a while. In the meantime, we're both part time, medical professionals and have lots of time to help out with your dog-care needs. (Robert works only from home.) There is absolutely nothing like the bond between humans and dogs, and we know how important it is for you to feel like your baby is in good hands. We're super responsive, dependable, and flexible to your needs. We've never met a dog we couldn't love! One or both of us is home every day and we love getting outdoors and being active if that's what your pup craves. Great walking neighborhood and Lake Temescal is just 5 minutes down the road for serious sniffing potential. We average 6-10 miles a day of walking if your dog enjoys long walks, and Brian can run up to 12 miles per day on weekends. No other animals in our house currently. Single family home with fenced outdoor area. Very dog-friendly and safe neighborhood. Dogs can be crated or uncrated at night (your preference).

About: I fell in love with dogs when I was 12 and we got our first puppy, Kishu, a basset hound who tripped over her ears all the time. Since then I have cared for all types of dogs, puppy to senior, big to small, and loved them all. I’m a full time student getting my doctorate in clinical psychology, so my availability is pretty open. My program is five years long so I’m hopeful to find some pets to walk long term if that’s that you’re looking for! I’m currently a full time student, so I’m mostly available on weekends, weekday mornings, and Mondays to walk your dog or stop by to check on them. I am both gentle and able to lead to make sure your dog is lovingly taken care of when you need me. I’ll be there for you and your pup.

About: I have enjoyed a lifelong love of dogs and bring over 30 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of many different kinds of temperaments and personality. I have loved and raised both energetic dogs (Golden Retriever and Border Collie) as well as my most recent rescue poodle mix Rudy who I saw through to the end of his 15th year. I am 100% equipped to take tender loving care of the special needs of senior pups and know how to administer meds to dogs of all ages. I am an avid walker and would welcome the chance to take your dog outside with me as needed. Dogs are not just pets to me but cherished family members who deserve the best. When your dogs are in my care, you can trust that they will be treated as my own, with attention, love and the respect they deserve. I work PT and mostly from home. I go my office (local) for around 4 hours, two days a week. Other than that, I am available to be with your dog or cat for most of the day if need be. I live in a large flat with ample room to run and play. I am able to crate your dog if preferred or needed. I do not have any other pets or children so your pup has my full attention.

“Sophia cared for my spunky senior chihuahua for a week last month while I went on vacation. I was immediately impressed with how gentle her approach was upon meeting my dog for the first time. She obviously has the experience to understand dogs especially ones that can be a little nervous at first. She took care of my dog at my home. Sophia sent me daily updates with adorable pictures and let me know what they were up to. I never had to wonder how Zoey was because Sophia was so on top of letting me know and I really appreciated the communication factor. She left my place spotless, it may have been cleaner than when I left it haha. I will definitely be having Sophia sit for me again!”

Danielle T.

“We met Danielle as a vet tech at our veterinarian of many years. During that time she also worked as a pet sitter and pet sat for our cats and home dozens of times over a 5 year period (we travel a lot). She is very conscientious and always took wonderful care of our animals and home. Danielle is a very caring person and animals tend to be quite comfortable with her, even our skittish cat. I would recommend Danielle without reservation.”
