“Melanie is fantastic. Not only is she quick to respond whenever I reach out, she is calm but playful and has the perfect sweet and caring nature so well suited for looking after pets. I knew my new puppy Rufus would be in good hands with Melanie. He had so much fun hanging out with her! It’s great to know someone local who is so good with both my cat and my dog.”

About: We are an active, animal-loving family! When your dog stays with us, they will get beach and trail walks, playtime in our fenced yard, and lots of love and attention. We have taken care of our own dogs and cats for decades, and have both been around them since we were children. We also have a 7-year-old daughter who has been raised around dogs since she was born. She loves them and is gentle and kind. Our dog Selkie is very well socialized and gets along with every dog she meets. Through the years, we have cared for many dogs and cats and other animals belonging to family and friends. We have also had great relationships with dog sitters who cared for our own pups, and we know that it can be nerve-wracking to leave your pet in the care of others, but that it can also be a really fun and positive experience for them. We both work from home and live close to a great dog beach and many trails. We are always with our own dog, and our flexible schedules let us tend to any dog's needs as they arise. Our dog Selkie loves to have visitors. Safety and security are a priority, and we are careful about traffic, unknown dogs and other hazards. We live on a quiet dead-end street and our backyard is securely fenced. We work from home, so we can keep a close eye on the pups. Our own dog is a very playful and friendly 18-pound mystery doodle, is well accustomed to all dogs, and loves company. She is one year old and is spayed. Because we have a small child and a small dog, we can only host dogs that are known to be good with children and other dogs.

“Ashley has been great with my dog. She walks and takes her for a swim a few times every week. I highly recommend her!”

About: * Please ask about walk/drop-in rates * Added fee for livestock, birds, etc. Thank you for being here! My name is Amanda Dickey, 29, animal lover born and raised in Maine. Caring for animals is one of my greatest passions and joys in life, and the perfect way to supplement my income while I focus on my writing this summer. My 2-year old mixed pup, Wally, is 20 lbs and neutered. He loves people and pets and can come with me if everyone gets along, but can also stay with my mom no problem. I am responsible, communicative, and have extensive experience in pet care — from daily check-ins on a 90lb Pit-bill to administrating oral medications, managing dogs with separation anxiety to farm-sits and volunteering at animal shelters. Our pets are an important part of our family units, and providing the proper attention, affection, patience, and nurturing spirit has always come naturally to me. As well as following all instructions very carefully. It is also my priority to ensure you are confident in leaving them with me. I will always do in-person meet and greets beforehand so they will recognize me when I return. I will also send tons of pictures and videos and can even do FaceTimes so you can see how we're doing. I know it's hard being away from your pets so anything I can do to set your mind at ease is my pleasure :) I've been told I have a positive and loving energy that animals are drawn to. Each animal is unique with their own special little personality, and understanding and respecting that helps me build rapport. I realize what a sensitive (sometimes confusing) time being apart from their family can be, so it's really my top priority to be a great source of comfort and stability for them and to provide as much warmth and positive energy as I can. Thank you for reading my notes and considering me as your pets' loving caretaker and temporary companion! Please let me know if you have any questions and hope to hear from you soon. Very best, Amanda and Wally I am currently writing remotely so can be there majority of the time. There may be a family event, appointment, etc. I’ll need to go to, but can adjust depending on how long the pet(s) can be alone for (ex. not more than 4 hours) I’m very attentive and make sure to give the pets care and affection how they want it. From high energy play and walks to low energy cuddles with lots of pets in between.

About: My name is Molly and I am an Ed Tech/BHP with availability and energy in the summer months. I have a four year old son and a ten year old dog, Zoe. Also popular in our household are Gracie, the seven year old bearded dragon, and Gus, the beta fish. This summer, I have an especially flexible schedule, but am happy to support you and your pet’s needs all year around. Although it is not my primary career focus, I have been involved in pet care for 20 years as a source of outside income and great passion. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss things further and determine if I would be a good fit for your pet family. I am currently working during the day, but am available in then afternoons or for boarding. I have summers off and would be available all day/week for walks, hikes, swims, playtime, and long term stays. My dog stays in the yard at the end of our private road. I adhere to the owner’s instructions for their pet’s safety while outdoors.

“Colleen is great with our pets. She has a calming demeanor that puts everyone at ease (even us, the nervous pet moms). We are happy we found Colleen!”

About: Hi there! I’m a lifelong animal lover with 3+ years of experience caring for cats and dogs for friends, family, and neighbors. I have two dogs and a cat of my own, so I understand just how important it is to have someone you trust looking after your pets. Whether it’s a quick potty break, a long walk, or a cozy drop-in visit, I’m here to make sure your furry family members feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. Their comfort and happiness are my top priority—because when they’re happy, I’m happy too! Pet care fits perfectly into my routine! This summer, I’m working just three days a week, which gives me plenty of flexibility and free time to dedicate to caring for your pets. Once school starts again, my schedule will be even lighter, so I’ll have consistent availability throughout the week for walks, drop-ins, and quality cuddle time. I love spending my downtime with animals—it’s genuinely one of the most rewarding and joyful parts of my day. Whether it’s early morning, mid-day, or evening visits, I’m more than happy to work around your pet’s needs and routine! When caring for pets in a client’s home during drop-ins and walks, my goal is always to make your pet feel safe, loved, and comfortable in their familiar environment. During drop-ins, I’ll make sure your pet has fresh food and water, clean up any messes, and spend quality time with them—whether that’s playing, cuddling, or just keeping them company. For walks, I ensure your dog gets the exercise, mental stimulation, and potty breaks they need, always keeping safety a top priority. I tailor every visit to your pet’s routine and personality, so they feel calm and cared for while you’re away.

About: Hi, I’m Lindsey! Over the past 25years, I’ve had the joy of caring for pets, and it’s been an incredibly rewarding experience. I believe pets are family, and finding the right person to look after them while you’re away is crucial. I take this responsibility seriously and approach every pet with the same love and care I give to my own. Caring is embedded in my nature and when I'm not loving on my pets or caring for others fur babies, you can find me working as a nurse. I'm currently the owner of a special needs dog and feel comfortable caring for those pets that need a little extra care. Ask me about my pet wedding service I offer! As a nurse, I have a flexible schedule that allows me the freedom to have days off with no work obligations so I can give my full attention to caring for your pet. I know that ensuring your pet has a safe environment with someone they trust is of utmost importance, so a meet and greet prior to confirming services is required. I tailor my approach based on the unique needs of each pet and their owner. When caring for pets in my home, I offer a safe and comfortable environment with ample space to play, opportunities to potty and protected sleep space. My pets are used to a structured environment, which allows them + visiting pets to settle into the new arrangement with ease. In your home, I focus on maintaining the familiar routines and surroundings that keep your pets comfortable. I follow any specific instructions you provide and adapt to your pet's habits and preferences, ensuring they feel secure and loved. My experience has equipped me with the skills to accommodate a variety of needs, whether it’s sticking to a feeding schedule, administering medication, or providing extra attention and care. Overall, my goal is to provide seamless care for your pet so they feel safe, secure and calm while their owner is away. Daily updates with pics or videos will be sent to ensure the owner feels safe, secure and calm while they are away as well! Prior to your departure, a plan for emergencies will be discussed and I will ensure I have all necessary phone numbers and contact information.

“Marisol is great! She is communicative and reliable. She takes extra time for cuddles and treats. And she gets along great would my pup. Would gladly recommend her to anyone :)”

About: I’ve grown up and taken care of dogs of every kind since I was at a young age of 12 years old. Neighbors, friends and family have trusted me to care for them while away from home. Whether you are on vacation, a holiday weekend away or just simply stuck at work and need someone to check in, feed them, walk them, play with them or would just like some company, your fur baby(s) will be in the best care with me. If scheduling falls on a day it snows I cannot make promises to any accommodations as traveling may be difficult for me. My pets are not just animals to me. They are my children because they are family. I provide full understanding of adjusting any accommodations for owners and their pets comfortability and safety. As that is my biggest wish when it comes my own pets, it would only be fair to offer that same transparency to my clients. Whether I send updated photos/videos of your pet(s) while in my care or asked to not use certain words or commands that may trigger any stress or anxiety to the pet, or would prefer me taking them on private walks rather than any public places that may have children or other dogs/animals, if being around either may trigger any stress or anxiety to you or your fur animal(s). I ask for full transparency from my clients as you and your pets safety and comfortability is utmost importance to me.

“Susan has been a pet sitter for my beloved cats many times. She cares for them as if they are her own. Sophie is not shy so she always greets Susan at the door, but Tony is timid and it takes him a bit longer to interact. When he hears her gentle voice he will come out to greet her, I call her the cat whisperer. Susan is reliable and I know my fur babies are in good hands when I have to be away from home.”
