“Our sweet older dog, Bailey, was very well cared for by Tess. She responded quickly to our messaging and kept us informed of Bailey daily. Such a great experience for all of us. Thank you Tess!”

“I highly recommend Ariana for dog and cat sitting! Ariana took excellent and loving care of my two dogs and one cat. My 14 year old Brittany is lively and doesn’t always make it to outside. Ariana took great care of her and changed diapers. My four year old Puggle and nine year old cat are afraid of new people. But with just a few treats, they were eating out of Ariana’’s hand and wagging their tails! My pups & cat had a great time with Ariana, and my house was even cleaner than when I left for the weekend. I will be asking Ariana to watch my fur babies again and again! Thank you Ariana, I can start going on vacations again!!!”

“Hailey did a great job taking care of all our fur kids. Twos dogs and two cats is alot but she did so good. She kept us updated on how they were doing throughout the stay and that made it worry free. She was able to give eye drops to one of our dogs that had an infection and I was really grateful for that. I'm happy she had skills and experience working with animals. We will definitely book again with her!”

About: I have been helping take care of animals since I was five. I grew up with animals in the house and have always made friends with animals. I have not found an animal that doesn’t like me in my 25 years of life. I help take care of many families who request me multiple times in a year. I am a full-time special education teacher who works from 7:30 in the morning to 4:30 in the afternoon. I can stay overnight and do drop ins. The times in between the drop ins would just have to be longer during the day due to not being able to leave work. I spend a lot of time with them when I can because they need that consistency of love and care as if their owners were there. I make sure they go to the bathroom, are fed, and given attention since their owners are gone. I love playing with them if they are animals who enjoy playing with toys.
“Brooke was fantastic to work with and did a great job taking care of Scarlett while we were out of town. She sent daily updates and pictures letting us know our Lil Miss was doing just fine. She ran the vacuum and left the kitchen spotless. We will definitely use her again.”

“They were wonderful. My dogs were so content when we got home that I knew they got plenty of attention. This was my first time having a sitter for my dogs and I am so relieved to meet such great people.”

“Hannah has been great to watch our dog multiple times when we are out of town. She is reliable with good communication throughout the stay. We will continue to reach out to her!”

“Emily was awesome ! Very friendly and knowledgeable, On short notice she was able to accommodate my schedule. She gave me daily updates, would ask questions if anything came up . Maverick enjoyed Emily and my home was left in better condition after she left than when she came. Very conscientious about the needs of Maverick. She will definitely be requested to come back again.”

“Ashlee was great with our 2 goldendoodles. She showed up early, gave our dogs plenty of loving and left our house as she found it. Our dogs were sad to see her go and would 100% recommend her!”

“Needed some last minute help watching my Dog Catie. Thank goodness Heather came to my rescue. Very responsible willing to go above and beyond to make sure she was comfortable with her even offered to stop and get treats for her on her way. Send pictures of our pup so we knew she was happy. Very nice and communicative. I would recommend”

“Alisa is amazing, she took on a big challenge with our 2 Pitt Bulls and one of them had just been rescued only a few days before we left. She worked on pottie training and even helped training them to play nicely together! I’m hooked….. I will try to get her to stay here with our hounds every time we go out of town knowing they will be well taken care of!”

“As usual Trinity did a great job taking care of our furry kids. I got a lot of pictures and updates! And we always appreciate knowing what they are up to when we are not home. Thanks so much!!”

About: Hi! I’m Sidnie, a proud pet parent to three dogs and two cats. I know every pet has their own personality, routine, and unique needs, and I understand how stressful it can be to leave them in someone else’s care. One of the biggest reasons I joined Rover is because two of my own dogs have anxiety in boarding and daycare settings. Finding someone I trust to care for them in the comfort of our home has always been important to me, and I want to provide that same peace of mind for other pet parents. Although I’m new to Rover, I’ve spent the past eight years caring for my own pets every day. I’m comfortable administering medications, following detailed care instructions, and adapting to each pet’s individual routine and personality. I work downtown Indianapolis on Mondays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and remotely the rest of the week, giving me the flexibility to spend more quality time with pets throughout the day. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playing fetch, snuggling on the couch, or simply having a calm companion nearby, I’ll tailor my care to what makes them happiest. You’ll receive regular updates and photos throughout your booking, and I’ll treat both your pet and your home with the same care and respect I give my own. I live on the south side of Indianapolis and work remotely most of the week, with only two days spent downtown. This gives me the flexibility to serve a wide area throughout Indianapolis and many surrounding communities while offering dependable care for your pets. If you’re unsure whether you’re within my service area, feel free to reach out—I’m happy to discuss travel. Whether it’s a walk, drop-in visit, or overnight stay, I do my best to keep your pet’s routine as consistent as possible. I know that maintaining familiar schedules can make all the difference, especially for pets who are nervous when their owners are away. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. Before every booking, I take the time to learn your pet’s routine, personality, and any special instructions so I can provide care that’s tailored specifically to them. Whether your pet has medications, dietary restrictions, favorite walking routes, or simply likes things done a certain way, I’ll make sure those routines stay consistent. I’ll also treat your home with the same respect and care that I would my own, leaving it just as I found it. You can expect dependable communication, thoughtful care, and plenty of updates so you never have to wonder how your pet is doing.
About: I've always loved animals since I was a kid: cats, dogs, reptiles, rodents, etc. I love taking care of them and learning about all different animals. making sure their needs are met and making sure they're well taken care of!! I have a part-time job. I'm able to do anything that fits my schedule. I prefer doing mornings or early afternoons!! If you need anything specific just let me know!! I am happy to meet any requirements for pet care!! Going on walks, specific feeding times, etc. Also, I can take care of any other pets, such as any reptiles and/or any rodents, rabbits, etc. I'm happy to do so; just let me know beforehand!!
“Kimberly was so good with our little cat! She was so kind and took great care of our home and fur baby! She even gave our cat who doesn’t isn’t good with medication her meds twice a day and sent us pics of our baby while we were on vacation! Will absolutely be booking with her again!”

“Taylor watched our two dogs at our home and was amazing! I am an anxious dog owner and rarely feel good about leaving them, but I was able to relax when Taylor was there. She was super communicative, punctual, and followed all of our requests. Her updates were great.”

“Andrew was an absolute godsend while we were away!!! He took the BEST care of our dog, and sent us cute photos and videos each day! He truly listened to what we wanted for our dog (who is older and a little stubborn) and went above and beyond in terms of caring for her like his own beloved pet. He checked in with us to ensure that we were ok with certain things, and did an amazing job of keeping us reassured that things were all a-ok, which was particularly nice since it was our first time experiencing an in-home pet sitter. He left our house in nicer condition than when we left it. I’m pretty sure my dog misses him now that we are home! We have already told him we will be using his services again in the future!!!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Rocklane walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Rocklane maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rocklane choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Rocklane. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
