About: Leanna and I have had dogs all of our lives. We have a dog name Gus now. He’s an Australian cattle dog. He’s very active and sweet. We have taken care of a few dogs while their owners were on vacation. We absolutely love it. A dogs unconditional love is the best feeling. You could have the worst day ever but a dog can make you smile for that moment. We are familiar with giving dogs medication. I had a dog that suffered from seizures and I had to medicate her twice a day. Matt works as a nurse full time. 12 hour days 3 days a week. Leanna works full time as well in the medical field. We try to make sure someone is home at all times so Gus isn’t alone. Right now, I share my home with a 97-pound Labrador retriever named Hunter, an orange tabby cat named Flash and a black tabby named Bear. About: Hi! I'm Melissa! A little bit about me. Growing up, our family always had dogs and cats. Since the moment I was born, I was raised alongside dogs and cats and at one point in my childhood we had three large breed dogs and 2 cats at once, so fun and crazy! One of our family dogs even had three litters of puppies during my teenage years, giving me hands on experience caring for dogs and puppies of all ages and sizes. I adopted him through Philly Rescue Angels Inc., where I am also an approved foster. Family and friends have relied on me for years from a young age to let out, walk, feed, and play with their dogs whether it be when they need help on short notice or go on an extended vacation. In addition to my experience with dogs, I’ve had cats throughout my life and have fostered them as well. One of my cats even needed daily insulin injections for diabetes and I always handled that myself. My background has given me a well rounded understanding of animal care, and I take pride in my ability to provide attentive, compassionate, and responsible care for all of your pets! Since I am a nurse, I also understand most medical conditions and medication administration and precautions for pets as well, they're more similar to us than we realize! I am a registered nurse whom only works 3 days per week. I am quite flexible in my schedule and can move around my days easily if requested! I have a fenced in yard. I have a friendly dog to play with your pup! And an extra large crate if you need your pet crated at all. Pets are allowed on furniture in my house as well!

After my dog passed, I adopted a 8 month old puppy back in Nov 2022. Being a doggy mom is amazing and I love having a furry companion! At home, i am typically always within view of my dog so she is never really alone. I use a camera in the living room to keep an eye out if I have to leave home or be in the basement etc. If it's a puppy or senior dog I am more likely to be attentive and be more by their side. For an adult dog, I'll give them their space and keep a consistent schedule to take on walks. I like to feed my dog healthy veggie treats throughout day and do some reinforcement training or give interactive toys to mentally exercise her.

About: I am one of those people who hangs out with the dog or cat at a house party, rather than the people. I grew up with dogs, including one who was epileptic and needed daily medication. We also had a parakeet and several hamsters. As an adult I’ve kept lizards, frogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, fish, and even co-habituated with a parrot for a few years. Nine years ago we adopted a rescue dog, who really made our family complete.
