“Gwen was wonderful with our three pups! Great communication, considerate, thoughtful, caring, and even brought them some extra goodies. We look forward to booking again in the future :)”

“Kimberly is the greatest pet sitter on earth I believe. She has actually made my cats sweeter and more cuddly. I love that I don't worry at all about them knowing she is taking care of them as I have to travel a great deal. One of my cats even had a major surgery and I came back home to her and she was better than ever. Best best sitter ever.”

“Thank you Megan! Bolt loves seeing you and we are so thankful for you! Even on such short notice, you’re always so quick to respond and we have such peace of mind! You’re the best!”

About: I have grown up taking care of dogs, turtles, and tortoises all my life. I would also watch over birds and pigeons that belonged to my grandma and uncle. I had cared for a friend’s cat and my neighbor’s cat. I currently have dogs, turtles, tortoises, chickens, and ducks. I currently am a full-time student and looking to take care of more furry babies. I will do the best I can to make sure they get the care they need! I make sure to have engaging toys and enough space for my dogs to run and laze around. I keep watch on my tortoises and turtles since they are currently hibernating. I provide a kiddie pool for my ducks to enjoy baths. I have a coop for my chickens and ducks to sleep in.
About: I’ve taken care of cats since I was 12. I grew up with cats and love their personalities. I have one kitty now, his name is Ricky. I first provided dog/house-sitting services for my professor in college for about 5 days where I fed, played and walked her lovely Border Collie. I began to cat sitting/drop ins for my brother and sister-in-law two years ago while they were away on vacation in the summer and have been doing it since. I am happy to care for both cats and doggos alike. I work a full time job, but can provide drop in services in the evenings for your pets while you’re away or make arrangements to cat/dog sit in your home. I am also available weekends! My availability will reflect on the calendar. I abide by your house rules and preferences when house sitting your pet in your home. If your pet gets anxious with new people around, I think it’s always best to have me meet them with you before you leave. I am happy to provide daily updates and send you photos. If there is any doubt about your pets needs, I’ll be sure to communicate those with you directly.
“This was my first time using Rover and I found Zapphora. She set up a meet and greet. She was on-time and my cat took to her right away. Zap is very personable and easy to talk to. She communicated with me for each visit. I had her come 2 times a day for 4 days. My Kitty is my baby, I felt so comfortable knowing that Zap would be checking on her. I am thankful for Rover connecting me to her. I will definitely ask for her for any future travels. Thank you Zap!”

“Destiny did a great job taking care of our kitties! One of my cats is a senior lady who needs medication and some special attention, and one is an anxious guy who needs emotional support, but I wasn’t worried about them at all! She also sent great pictures every day.”

About: I have taken care of pets for neighbors and friends for years. I am experienced in giving animals medicine and love to take care of animals in need. I have volunteered at a wildlife rescue for years and have taken care of possums, squirrels, cats and all kinds of birds. I have experience with young cats and senior dogs and I am not afraid to get messy because that’s what animals do. I cannot walk dogs very well due to having hip problems but I can assure you your furry friend will be taken care of as if they are my own. I am currently unemployed so I have plenty of time to care for my pets. I wake up around 6:30am every morning to let my chickens out of the coop so they can free roam through my backyard. I feed my starling, cockatiel and pigeon each separate diets. My cats eat dry food in the morning and wet food at night. My chickens go back in the coop at 6pm and I collect all the eggs they laid that day. The chickens get treats like blueberries and feeder fish throughout the day. I do not clip my birds wings so they are free to fly around the house and my cats are friendly to them. My yard is fenced off for my chickens to free roam during the day and I have 2 friendly cats that live in my backyard that catch rats and mice but are friendly to birds.

“Eli was great! I needed someone to come by daily to feed my fur babies while I was on vacation & her response time was quick. She was right on time each day to feed my dogs & cat, she spent extra time with them giving them some love & she even picked up after them! Eli was very sweet, caring & professional & I would highly recommend her.”

“Kellie was great with my two cats. They were happy and healthy when I got home, and the house was cleaner than I left it. Would definitely book again and recommend to others.”

“Quetzaly has been wonderful with our pets. She first sat for our cat, Gemini, and we felt like she took such great care of her that we never had to worry while we were away. Because of that great experience, we thought she would be a great sitter for our 5-month-old puppy, Sesame. My partner was out of town for the weekend and I was working nights that week, so we needed someone to watch Sesame, and Quetzaly was available on short notice. We’re so happy we booked with her—Sesame clearly had a great time! Quetzaly followed all of our instructions carefully and took great care of our girl. She kept us updated with pictures and the Rover card, which gave us a lot of peace of mind. We never had to worry about Sesame while we were away. We would absolutely love to have her sit for us again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone to take great care of their fur babies.”

“Hillary was very patient with Cooper. He was a little timid and Hillary took the time to make sure Cooper got comfortable and went outside to pee. Thank you Hillary!!!”

“Samantha took excellent care of my two cats and two birds. They were happy and comfortable during our time away. She followed all instructions and ensured each pet was doing well. She’s very tidy, too. I will definitely be using her services again.”

“Angela was fantastic with our standard poodles Bentley and Coco. Bentley is by far the anxious one, but Angela was incredibly patient and won him over immediately. She dropped in twice a day, made sure they got plenty of playtime, and always sent photo updates that gave us peace of mind while we were away. She followed all care instructions perfectly. We highly recommend Angela and will absolutely book her again.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Riverside
Paris is our favorite cat sitter. She's keeps us updated with the most amazing photos! She's soo quick to respond and we feel at ease knowing our cats are happy in her care 💕 She even made them the cutest little catnip toys on her previous visit and they are soo obsessed. 10/10 would recommend.

Zapporah came in twice a day to feed and play with my 2 cats for a little over 2 weeks while I was away in Europe, and I cannot be happier! She really put my nervous cats at ease (in fact, one of them hides from everyone, but he came out for her within a few days). She took very good care of my kitties, played with them, maintained the litter box and was very communicative. I felt a lot more comfortable being so far away for so long with them in her care and I will absolutely work with her again in the future.

Kathrine took great care of our kitties while we were gone for a 10 day trip. She visited them twice a day to do basic care but went above and beyond to keep them entertained and happy. She also combed them for fleas when a couple were discovered on them to keep them comfortable. Would definitely use her again and recommend her to any pet owner 😊

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Riverside. On Rover:
- 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
