“Gwen was wonderful with our three pups! Great communication, considerate, thoughtful, caring, and even brought them some extra goodies. We look forward to booking again in the future :)”

“Samantha is truly amazing!! It was our first time leaving our pup for an extended period of time and she was great with him! She sent me photos and a video at each check in. She took the time to play with him and I know that’s what truly made all the difference while we were away. We are so grateful for you Sam!”

“Eli was great! I needed someone to come by daily to feed my fur babies while I was on vacation & her response time was quick. She was right on time each day to feed my dogs & cat, she spent extra time with them giving them some love & she even picked up after them! Eli was very sweet, caring & professional & I would highly recommend her.”

“Thank you Megan! Bolt loves seeing you and we are so thankful for you! Even on such short notice, you’re always so quick to respond and we have such peace of mind! You’re the best!”

“Aimee was fantastic with my senior cat. I was sure he was going to just hide the whole time I was gone, but she was patient and kind, and got him to come out to eat and get attention. I'm very grateful for the way Aimee took care of my boy.”

“We couldn't be happier with our decision to have Paris as our dog’s companion! From the moment we met her, it was clear that she’s a true dog lover. She always shows up on time and is flexible with scheduling. Paris keeps us updated with delightful picture messages that show our pup basking in affection and enjoying playtime. Each photo radiates joy, confirming that our dog is in the best hands! Paris not only cares for our pet but seems to have genuinely connected with her.”

“Nicole is an incredible caregiver to our dogs. We use her services to feed and let our dogs run around in the backyard when we can’t be there. It would be very easy to sit back during this time, but Nicole takes the extra effort to interact with our dogs and give them lots of love and attention. She even offers to bring her own treats and toys for our dogs. She mailed us printed pictures of our dogs after her first visit. She also brings our packages to the back porch and messages us after we return home to check on our dogs and we get lots of great pictures of them while we’re away. Selfishly, I don’t want to leave this glowing review of Nicole because I want to keep her all to myself. 😀”

“Jessica has done a great job checking in on my dog while I’m at work. She replies to messages promptly and she makes sure to take lots of pictures during her visits.”

“Nicole took excellent care of our 3 cats while we were gone for 7 days. She kept the place cleaner than she needed to, and made sure all cats got some attention during the visits. She also communicates very well, and is very accommodating with any changes. I will definitely rebook her in the future!”

“Lauren did a wonderful job caring for our fur babies. She was very kind and respectful as well as trustworthy. We felt completely secure knowing our babies were in great hands.”

“Samantha took very good care of my 4 cats while I was away. They all were happy and healthy when I returned. Everything remained tidy and Samantha was even sweet enough to bring in a package! Thank you Samantha from Simon, Coco, Tsuki and Suly and I.”

“Katherine was so amazing! She is very kind and gentle with my senior cat Benny. Benny warmed up to her and went in for some pets. Katherine is very reliable, communicative and professional. I was able to relax on my vacation knowing that Katherine was watching Benny after our meet and greet. I would book Katherine again!”

“Hannah was so great with our cream retriever, Maggie. She kept us up to date with comments and pictures. Hannah took the initiative to play extra games with her. Thanks Hannah!”

“Brandi is wonderful. She’s friendly and on time. I left my puppy with her for several days and she dies drop by visits all the tim. She sent updates and pictures and walked him. I would recommend her for any services.”

“Douglas was great! My kitties loved him. He was kind and efficient with their care. It was great knowing that they were in good hands while I was gone. I really enjoyed getting all of the pictures and video updates that he sent each day. I would definitely feel comfortable rebooking with Douglas next time I need to go out of town again.”

“Evelyn accepted our not so usual request to do drop-in visits for our pet goat Milo. She was attentive, timely and followed all our requests! She gave Milo lots of love while we were away! We will definitely be using Evelyn again!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Riverside
Paris is our favorite cat sitter. She's keeps us updated with the most amazing photos! She's soo quick to respond and we feel at ease knowing our cats are happy in her care 💕 She even made them the cutest little catnip toys on her previous visit and they are soo obsessed. 10/10 would recommend.

Zapporah came in twice a day to feed and play with my 2 cats for a little over 2 weeks while I was away in Europe, and I cannot be happier! She really put my nervous cats at ease (in fact, one of them hides from everyone, but he came out for her within a few days). She took very good care of my kitties, played with them, maintained the litter box and was very communicative. I felt a lot more comfortable being so far away for so long with them in her care and I will absolutely work with her again in the future.

Kathrine took great care of our kitties while we were gone for a 10 day trip. She visited them twice a day to do basic care but went above and beyond to keep them entertained and happy. She also combed them for fleas when a couple were discovered on them to keep them comfortable. Would definitely use her again and recommend her to any pet owner 😊

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Riverside. On Rover:
- 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
