“Our experience with Missy has been fantastic. She took the time to get to know Benji thoroughly during our meet and greet. On the day of daycare, she sent me text and photo updates throughout the day and I knew Benji was in great hands. When I picked him up in the evening, I could tell that he had a fantastic time that day!”

“It can be hard to find sitters willing to help with challenging dogs, and I have a very sweet pup who, unfortunately, has some separation anxiety that means she can’t be left home alone at this point. Julia agreed to watch her for some daycare while my husband and I attended a family birthday party, and she also was great about setting up a Meet and Greet about a week beforehand so that Sable could be introduced to Julia and her own pups. Julia sent pictures and updates while we were away, and I appreciated her honesty when I asked how Sable did. It seems as though Sable was only mildly embarrassing and didn’t put Julia through too much hassle, so I’m very grateful to have someone trustworthy and kind to leave my pup with! Thank you so much!”

About: I am retired from the Corporate world and would like nothing more than to take care of your pets. My schedule is pretty flexible. I will also take in your mail and garbage cans if needed. I have experienced taking care of my own pets and my friend's pets. I have one dog, Roxie who is 9 years old and two cats, Tesla and Orion who are 8 and 10. I volunteer occasionally at ARNO and help with the cats and walk the dogs. I would take care of your pets as if they were my own. I am very active so taking your dog on long walks/jogging and playing with them is not a problem. I am very responsible and will not let you down. Given the opportunity, I would love to spoil your pet.
“My husband Emile and I were very pleased and grateful for the care that Damaris and Jose’ provided our Emma! You can tell that they are animal lovers and treated her like their own! They have a lovely home and yard and sent pictures and videos of her stay. In the past, Emma has been cared for by family members. It’s nice to know that we have someone else turn to!”

“Beth has a true natural gift with pups! I’ve never seen Louis as happy as he is when he heads off to her—his whole face lights up, tail wagging a mile a minute. It’s such a relief and joy to know he’s in such caring, capable hands. Thank you, Beth, for taking such wonderful care of my boy. We think you’re the best and feel so lucky to have found you! 🐾❤️”

About: It is with great pleasure that I offer my service as an outstanding dog walker and pet sitter. I bring professionalism, reliability, and deep love for animals to assure that your fur baby will always be treated as one of my own while they are in my care! I have spent decades caring for multiple dogs of every breed, size, age, and temperament, from energetic puppies and high-drive working breeds to senior dogs with health and mobility issues, as well as many anxious rescues. I consistently demonstrate calm competence combined with genuine affection. I have a keen understanding of canine body language and can sense subtle stress signals quickly, thereby allowing me to adjust playtime, walks and routines accordingly in the moment. Whether providing daily neighborhood walks, longer adventure outings, overnight stays, or extended boarding, I treat every dog as a special individual and am therefore able to offer them affection, love and support while maintaining a firm “leader of the pack” demeanor. I am retired and spend my full time at home with my 8 year old super friendly Brittany, Scout, going on long walks and to the dog park. I have had 20+ dogs of all sizes and breeds, from puppyhood through old age with various infirmities, and I want to dedicate my time to helping my clients feel 100% secure that their fur babies are being cared for as they would be at home with their own family! All babies get free run of my home, are allowed on furniture and I am always well stocked with toys, treats and various beds for lounging, should they so prefer. I have a large, fenced, shaded backyard and a doggie door so dogs have the option to go out any time but I also spend a lot of time outside under the gazebo watching them play.
“Lisa was very sweet. You can tell how much she loves dogs. Our Anni did great, so I’m told. Since this was our first time using Rover we were nervous about leaving her. But after our experience with Lisa we will use Rover again. We are traveling across country and not every place is dog friendly. Thanks Lisa.”

“Madison was awesome! Clean and spacious house and a nice backyard. She sent videos and pictures and my pup and he looked like he was having a blast the whole time. Very easy communication and feedback from her. I 100% recommend her!! S”

About: I was raised with pets and have had a dog for over 30 years. Zara is my new sweetheart she's a shepherd husky mix and she's a year and a half old. I will only be dog sitting or dog boarding for ONE PUP at a time to give the utmost personalized attention.🐶♥️ I am retired and at this time I'm only offering drop off daycare and boarding Thursday through Sunday... We will only be outside in the cooler times of the day and can use the sprinkler if you allow. Your dog will be allowed on the couch and I am very good with giving specialized feeding as my dog has some healthy add-ons for her kibble daily. Again I will only be offering boarding and drop off dog sitting in my house... Thursday through Sunday personalized care for your dog only ♥️
“She was great! My dog needed a sitter for the day and she had no problems at all Cheyanne sent update pictures, had friends to play with, and was super happy way dropping off and picking up! Will definitely be returning!”

“Brittany did great with our 3 month old puppy! She was very patient with her and even taught her a new trick. Her dog, Jerry, was great with our puppy and we were glad she had another dog friend. We would absolutely use Brittany again in the future!”

“2nd time we have booked Ms. Olivia to take care of our pup Benito. She has taken care of him like if he was her own pup. Highly recommend her services to dog-sit. Thanks again Ms. Olivia.”

“It was my first time using the Rover app. Gail was super friendly and ensured my 13 yo was in good hands. She sent videos and photos throughout the stay. I would definitely request Gail next time we go out of town. Thank you Gail!”

About: I’ve had pets my whole life growing up! I got my first on cat (Katniss) as a freshman in college, and she is now 12 years old and thriving well! I got my first dog (Albus) the next year and he is a 106 pounds black lab who is also doing very well. I am a teacher so I am off from June-July 20 all day, every day. I can show up on short notice and stay for extended periods if needed! My schedule for the next 2 months is extremely flexible, and I’m willing to work with your schedule as well! I have a dog and a cat of my own, so I’m very experienced caring for multiple pets in a home environment. I have a condo in Metairie a block from the levee where I can take a dog on a good walk, and my parents house in mandeville with a fenced yard where pets can safely play and get fresh air. I can easily crate your dog or cat if needed, follow any specific feeding, medication, or routine instructions, and provide plenty of love, attention, and enrichment. Whether the service is at my home or yours, my goal is always to make your pet feel safe, comfortable, and happy while you’re away.
“Katherine and Ethan were extremely responsive, kind, and flexible when we left our Siberian Husky, Charlie, with them for doggie daycare. Their dogs, Gus and Brady, wore Charlie out, and Charlie is psyched to spend more time with all of them.”

About: I previously worked at an animal shelter for three years. I handled all dogs and cats, the nice and the not so very nice. I had over 20 adoptions of dogs alone, with two aggressive dogs changed to happy puppies. I currently own a dog who is absolutely great I’m a dog lover. I’m a stay at home mommy, I take care of my son and my 1 year old pup. I’m pretty flexible on time. If I’m not able to do specific dates, I will mark them as unavailable to help assist with booking times. Please ensure that your pet is good with babies and other dogs before hand. I do not want to have any issues between the dogs that will cause harm to my baby. I have a fenced in yard, and I also have a block that I walk my pup around. If you have specifics for your pet, please let me know. I am pretty easy going when it comes to the proper care for your fur baby!

“My dog is actually ready to pack her bags and leave us to go live with Emily now! Sable needed to be watched during an evening event due to her separation anxiety, and she was not only happy to go to Emily’s house after we had a meet and greet the week before, but she also was completely comfortable and not even excessively eager to go home when we picked her up. Sable had a great time, and Emily sent many pictures documenting Sable’s day with her, as well as updates on how things were going. I have over a decade of experience working in the veterinary industry, so, unfortunately, I have seen what can happen to pets left with the wrong caretakers, and I’m very cautious with whom I entrust my pets’ care to due to this potential. I would trust Emily with any of my four dogs, and I am so glad she agreed to meet with me and watch Sable! Sable is happy to have some new friends built in with Emily’s own pack of 5 star canine employees (who were happy to show Sable the ropes, but also would have been content to take the day off and stay in their own spaces if Sable didn’t like or want to be around other dogs), and I am happy to have peace of mind that my dogs will be looked after with the same level of attention I would provide. Oh, and have I mentioned Emily’s yard and home? A paradise for pups and people alike with shade being provided throughout the day from oak trees and ramped decking (especially great for pups that can’t do stairs!), so the heat that may keep my crew indoors during certain times of the day at home is miraculously manageable at Emily’s house! This is perfect for those hounds that would rather spend more time outside, but the inside of Emily’s home is just as inviting with many comfy spaces set up for the pups to rest or play in a controlled climate. I hear guests are even allowed on the furniture! ☺️🥰”

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your River Ridge commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in LA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
