“Mickey and his family are awesome! They treat my my fur baby as if she was theirs. Love getting pictures and videos during her visits. The kennel will now only be used as my “back up” place. Highly recommend!”
“Garrett, Ana and their family were so wonderful. They were very communicative and took care of our golden, Pretzel so well. Pretzel had the best time with their family! My husband and I felt very comfortable leaving pretzel with them. We will definitely book with them again!!”

“This is the first time I used Rover for my cat. I was very nervous as I didn’t know what to expect. However, Heather was very accommodating. She allowed me to bring any items my pet was comfortable and familiar with. When I had missed an item and sent via Amazon, Heather was able to set it up and sent a pic. She sent me daily updates and pictures and reassured me that everything was alright. I would definitely be utilizing her services again.”

“Duke was very happy after his weekend with Vanessa and Geoffrey. Their setup is amazing and I got several updates and pictures while away from my fur baby.”

“Sabine is awesome! She took really good care of my pup and kept me updated on how he was doing. She was friendly, flexible with drop off and pick up times, sent lots of pictures, and treated Rambo like her own. I would definitely recommend Sabine!”

“My boy Derby had a great stay with Jim while we were away. He has an amazing property with lots of room for the pups to walk. Jim sent photos and updates multiple times per day, so we were assured our dog was in good hands. I would recommend Jim to anyone looking for loving care and attention for their pet.”

“Donna provided very special care to Cocoa. She is a senior pup, and we are forever grateful that Donna provided updates as soon as anything of note happened. She was super responsive to all messages, and Cocoa was comfortable for the entire stay. We may not have Cocoa for much longer, and we are grateful that Donna was extra attentive to her needs and provided the best care possible. Many, many thanks.”

“Emmanuel is an absolute gem! We came to his house for a meet and greet prior to boarding. He has a lovely home and back yard and all the dogs staying with him seemed happy and loved! He sent daily updates and photos while we were away. I immediately booked him again for another stay!”

“Our pups spent a whole week with Veronica and when we picked them up... They were relaxed, happy and thrilled to see us. And dare I say they smelled like they had baths? This trip was so much better than when we have to leave them at the petHotel, where they come home a little shell shocked.”
“Elizabeth was wonderful! Super communicative, sent lots of pictures, and was proactive about making sure our dog was as comfortable as possible during her stay. It was clear that she is knowledgable and experienced in caring for all kinds of dogs.”

“No complaints at all. She loved my dog as if it were her own. Nice yard. Good care. Gave me updates every day with pictures of what he has been up too. My dog had a nice vacation while I went on mine!”

“We couldn’t be happier with the care our two puppies received from Amber! From the moment we met her we knew they were in great hands. She gave them plenty of attention, playtime, and care while we were away. We received regular updates and photos, which gave us complete peace of mind. It was clear that our puppies were happy, comfortable, and well cared for the entire time. We came home to two healthy & happy pups! If you’re looking for someone trustworthy, reliable, and genuinely passionate about animals, we highly recommend Amber. We will definitely be using her services again!”

“Henry is a great sitter who was able to accommodate care on short notice for my quirky Golden Koda, who cannot be near another dog as he gets fear reactive; thus he must be the only dog in care. We had a successful meet & greet, and Henry asked a lot of good questions. He communicated and sent pictures regularly and kept me informed about how Koda was doing. I felt comfortable leaving my pup for a doggie staycation while I got to spend a few much-needed days on a trip with some family members. I would not hesitate to have Henry care for Koda again or to recommend him to others.”

“Tracey has boarded my dog multiple times and has always been flexible with scheduling and she provides pictures. She sends pictures of my dog having fun. Last time I dropped off Maddie she was eager to go inside Tracey’s house. Seems like she enjoys her stays there. I will continue to book with Tracey.”

“Linda and her family were great! I loved that she sent videos and pictures throughout the day. My Yorkie, Titan, was very happy and well taken care of during his stay. I would highly recommend using Linda and look forward to using her again in the future.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Rison
This was Yoda’s second stay with Seyla, and he was wonderful again! He constantly sent updates and videos of her activities, which made me feel like I was right there with her. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing she was happy and well cared for. I’d happily book with Seyla again!

Seyla is THE BEST dog sitter in the DMV, hands down! Between the hiking, fresh chicken and broth with every meal, massive yard, and plenty of other dogs to play with, I am surprised my two pups were willing to leave! Seyla has a very impressive operation going on. He sends a ton of videos of their hiking adventures, meals, and play time in the yard. He also had no issues whatsoever handling my energetic pudelpointer and shy rescue. I have used plenty of rovers, and I can honestly say that Seyla is the best one I have found. His dedication to all the dogs in his home is truly admirable and put me completely at ease. I cannot recommend him highly enough! We will be back!!

Seyla was extremely communicative during our puppy’s long stay with him. Every day we received multiple videos and photos, including her daily meals. He let us know how she was adjusting behaviorally and there were numerous activities for our extremely energetic puppy to get into. Her behavior has actually improved since she’s come home. Even our kids think so. Very grateful to Seyla and we will make sure she stays with him going forward! Highly recommend!!

During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Rison.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
