Alissa is awesome! I contacted Alissa and we did a meet and greet a couple of days later and it’s a perfect match! Alissa is great with Miley. They walk down to the lake and back 5 days a week. I am so thankful for her!

About: I have worked in professional pet care for 4 years and have been watching neighbors dogs for the past 2 years. At doggy daycare I have worked with all sizes and ages of dogs and am comfortable with all of them. I am currently and student at The University of Missouri but am still able to come to your house to watch your pet. I can stay at your house during the week or weekend, my classes are during the middle of the day so they can go out plenty of times in the morning and night. I have three dogs at home that I am very used to taking care of as well as my cat. I can follow your pets schedule so there is no difference in your care and mine.

Jennifer was great with Merle! She was available right away when I found out I needed a dog walker and responded within minutes. She was literally there within an hour. I really appreciate her being accommodating and taking my furbaby for a walk on such short notice. He had a great time and she sent me cute pictures of him on campus :)

Donna is EXCELLENT with my dogs Charlie and Buddy. They're Maltese-Shih Tzu mixes, 7 and 3 years old, and they absolutely love her and they walks she takes them on. I've watched her with my boys and based on what I've seen, would highly recommend Donna to anyone looking for a walker with a great temperament and strong skills at dog handling.

About: I’m a HUGE animal lover and have experience taking care of all sorts of animals, from dogs, to cats, spiders, bunnies, frogs, and more! I have six cats of my own and foster medically fragile/behaviorally challenged cats from the Humane Society. It brings me so much joy when I see a cat truly start to thrive again. Because of how long I’ve been caring for animals, I’m experienced in providing a wide variety of care. Your puppy is still crate training? I can help! Your senior four-legged friend needs medication? I can do it! Your socially awkward pet doesn’t like people? That’s okay! You have an animal that most people don’t know how to care for? I guarantee you that I do. Working with animals is such a fulfilling part of my life and that’s why I’ve been doing it so long! **Rover takes a huge percentage of earnings for sitters! Therefore, I request that we use Venmo or another payment method instead of Rover! I work an incredibly flexible job, allowing me to spend quality time with your pets while you’re away. I work with my clients and around their schedules, making pet care as stress-free as possible! I usually care for pets in my client’s home, as my home is a bit of a zoo. I work hard to ensure we have trust and boundaries established so we both feel comfortable! One of the ways I do that is by doing a meet n greet beforehand. I love to get to know the pet parents and meet the pets before I start sitting.

About: Hi! I'm a dependable and caring animal lover who understands that pets are family. Whether your furry friend needs a walk, drop-in visit, overnight care, or a safe place to stay, I'm committed to providing the same love, attention, and patience I'd give my own pets. I believe every pet has a unique personality, and I take the time to learn their routines, preferences, and needs so they feel comfortable and secure while you're away. I'm happy to care for dogs of all sizes and energy levels, and I'm comfortable following specific feeding schedules, administering basic medications, and providing plenty of exercise, playtime, and cuddles. I know how important it is to have peace of mind when you're away from your pet, so I'll keep you updated with regular photos and messages throughout each visit. My goal is to make your pet feel happy, safe, and loved while giving you confidence that they're in good hands. I look forward to meeting you and your four-legged family members! I am currently in between jobs, so my schedule is completely open to taking care of your fur baby while you are away. You’re dog will get plenty of attention while in my care. I have one playful, loving fur baby of my own to keep yours entertained. Can be crated if you prefer while i’m away from home. Will always have the option to water, food, toys, play time/outside time.

About: I’ve been around and caring for animals my entire life. At home, I have two high-energy Golden Retrievers, which has given me experience with pets that have different personalities, energy levels, and care needs. One of my Golden Retrievers has severe storm anxiety, so I’ve learned how to stay patient, recognize signs of stress, and help calm nervous animals in a safe and comforting way. In addition to caring for my own pets, I have been looking after my neighbors’ pets since I was young, gaining experience with feeding, walking, playing with, and providing attentive care for a variety of animals. My lifelong experience with pets has made me responsible, dependable, and genuinely passionate about animal care. I work a part time job at a car wash. I work 3-4 5 hour shifts a week either morning or afternoon, and I will always be off before 7! I have always taken pet safety very seriously. When caring for dogs, I never allow them outside without a leash or properly fitted harness unless they are in a secure, fenced-in area. I make it a priority to closely supervise pets whenever they are outdoors to ensure their safety. I am especially cautious with small breeds and always keep a watchful eye on them, particularly at night. I understand the importance of preventing accidents and creating a safe, secure environment where pets can be comfortable and protected.

Taylor was great! She came over the day before to meet the doggies. Even though the times I originally requested were a little difficult for her schedule that day (it was last minute,) she did all she could to make it as close as possible- and ended up being there about the time I had requested anyway. I scheduled two visits in one day, and while I said the second visit only needed to be a feed and let out in the yard - she asked if they could still go for a walk. :) She was also very observant and noticed a small scratch on one of my dogs, sent a photo, and asked if I wanted her to treat it. I really appreciate all the attentiveness; and the above and beyond she provided for my babies. Most importantly, the dogs seemed to really like her too. :) We are already planning for her to return. Thank you!

About: I am a band director August-May so being a teacher is my main job. Although I love it, I work for Rover as a summer funds supplement. I’ve held temporary jobs that had little to no personal meaning but getting the opportunity to spend time caring for animals seems to give it a bit more of a purpose, which I enjoy. Looking forward to meeting your fur family! My daily routine is very relaxed in the summer because I’m off as a teacher. My family is home most days other than the occasional summer outing. We have 4.5’ fenced in big yard that will allow your dog to run freely. We also live in a quiet neighborhood and have the ability to go on leashed walks whenever we like.

About: You will not be disappointed by the quality of care you receive when your dog(s) is in my care. I have loved helping others with their family needs since I was young. My career as a nanny involved helping families for over 10 years with their children, animals, and other needs. I believe they are our four-legged babies. They will receive my full attention. You will receive pictures and messages throughout my time with them. They will only eat and play with the things you allow. We do have plenty of dog toys if they are pre-approved by you of course. We now have a lovable 10 year old mini schnauzer of our own who loves being around other dogs. Our children love being around other animals as well. They understand how to be kind and gentle to animals. I do, unfortunately, have some allergies and can only care for hypoallergenic dogs. Please ask if you are unsure about your breed. We have a large fenced-in yard and our house is conveniently located with easy access to a lot of surrounding towns. Thank you! My schedule is very flexible. Some days I run my children to school or daycare and back whenever it is convenient for us. I am a stay at home mom always looking to help others. Our yard is very large and fenced-in. Yadi is our mini schnauzer. He is almost 10 years old and loves being around other dogs. We are close to North highway 63, but live in the quiet country with a lot of nature and wildlife. Our gravel road is perfect for walks. And since I am located in between so many local cities I don't mind driving to care for your pup. I can easily crate your animal for you, as well. Let's discuss what you need!

About: I have been around pets since I was a kid. I did take care of elder dogs in the past time. I did dog-sitting the puppies. I had experience with foster dogs and my housemate in the past. I have experience with deaf dogs myself. My family and I raised a deaf dog; she is now at peace. I am currently working from home. My schedule has some flexibility that I can take care of other things such as taking care of pets. I always make sure the pets feel safe and secure in their space. I care about their boundaries in their daily routine and develop relationships with their pets.

About: I am a vet student at Mizzou who is open to becoming your go-to person for pet-sitting needs! I am very flexible and willing to negotiate whatever you need to feel comfortable while you are away. This summer I am working at a research facility in which I am only there a few hours a week. So my schedule is pretty open! I live in a duplex house located Northeast of COMO. I'm more open to in-house visits rather than pet sitting where I live, but I'm flexible.

About: I am a dog lover through and through. I’m a proud “step mom” of my fiancé’s Shiba Inu, Charlie, but at this point I really consider him my dog too. He is an absolute angel and I love to give him lots of walks, take him to the dog park (he is healthy and vaccinated!), give him lots of pets, and the occasional treat! Other than watching Charlie, I have dog sat for a few family friends, and I used to volunteer at a local animal shelter by walking the dogs and cleaning their stalls. I work from home full-time. I have 8 hour days that I’ll be tied to work, but your dog can hang with me nearby when he or she wants the company! In the evenings and free time I am able to walk or play with your dog, and give them the attention they need. I live in a Condo with a small screen in porch. Our dog, Charlie, is super good around other dogs! He is a medium sized shiba inu and is somewhat reserved, but also super patient with overly friendly dogs. I keep a clean house and will ensure a safe environment for your dog’s stay. Charlie is a big runner and will take off if he finds any way out, so I’m super conscious to make sure any dogs who stay with me stay within the home! To go outside, I’ll have to walk your dog around our area on a leash.

About: I’m a natural born animal lover. I grew up rescuing birds and any kind of critter since I was a small child. I lived in Missouri and was blessed with a big yard to fill with dogs and a loving home to fill with cats. I also have a strong passion for rabbits after adopting a disabled rabbit. I’m extremely flexible. I work from home for a fulfillment company and work for myself. I do have a medical asthetics license but not working out of home right now. I think communication is so important- especially when it comes to your loved ones. I am happy to provide photos and detailed updates. I also love all animals so it’s not a challenge to treat others as if they were my own.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and other animals my entire life, and I recently worked at a small animal ICU. Due to this, I am fairly comfortable working with all sorts of dogs and temperaments, and could recognize any problems that may arise with the pet! I am currently taking classes part-time at a vet school, so I have plenty of time to play with and take care of your pups! I will vary how I take care of the pet based on the animal! I love wrestling, playing with, and running around with the young pups, but I also love a calm snuggle sessions for the less energetic babies!

About: My name is Maci. I am a Dog and Cat owner for 15+ years. One of the best experiences I have had is Volunteering at local animal sheltors. After I began volunteering all pets that I have owned have been rescue animals. I have been dog/cat sitting for 5 years in counting and looking for more opportunities to help others in need. With that said I would love to take care of your furry friend on your weekend out of town. From drop in visits to walks out to the mailbox let me help make your trip as stress free as possible. While out of town leave the care of your pet with someone who is responsible, punctual, and loves what she does! Hope to hear from you soon!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 318 sitters on Rover offering Dog Walking across Riggs. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Riggs. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Riggs.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Riggs. On Rover:

  • 94% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
