We booked Amanda to house and dog sit our two pups while we were out of country with limited communication access for two weeks. After having a phone call and then a meet and greet with her, we felt 100% comfortable with her staying at our house and watching our pups. Amanda is down to earth, friendly, and easy for people and dogs alike to get along with. On return, we were not disappointed. The house, pups, and plants were all very well taken care of. We could tell our pups had a blast with her. We are sad to learn that she will be moving away before the end of the year- we would without question book her again. Thank you, Amanda!

About: I grew up around many dogs, big (my own dog Woody is a 12 year old fox red lab) and small (my other dog Juniper is a 2 year old dachshund), and I’m super comfortable around them. I’ve also dog and cat sat for neighbors and family since I could drive! Having just moved out here, I miss spending time with dogs and would love to meet some new ones :) I am currently working full time as a naturalist at Walking Mountains, but my schedule varies and allows for more flexibility week to week. I am mostly available first thing in the morning, late afternoon into the evening, and for overnights because I have a car! Dogs need lots of love and attention, and I always make sure to give it! Back at home, my dachshund Juniper requires going out regularly and lots of affection, and my lab Woody requires lots of exercise and play, so I am used to caring for dogs with different needs.

Ken was awesome! Our boy Gunnar was obviously well taken care and the house was cleaner than when we left it. Ken dropped by a couple of days after house/dog sitting for us and Gunnar was beside himself. Friends for life. We won't use anyone else. We highly recommend Ken, just not when we need him:)

Tara, did a great job. We were sent updates frequently with photos of the pups and cats. Dogs were walked and got to enjoy life at home thanks to Tara. Tara always was always to respond quickly with our questions and concerns. It is a great feeling to be able to leave your family and know they are in great hands.

About: I have raised 3 dogs from puppyhood with my family and have taken care of my friends and family’s dogs. I had experience with puppies and older dogs. I work part time jobs meaning I have plenty of time for your animals and to prioritize their needs. I have my own vehicle and live with my family. I have a fenced in yard with 2 very friendly dogs up in Redcliff. My dogs spend most of their time outside and with people. There is typically someone always in the house meaning the animals are never left alone for long periods!

About: Join Piper and I for a day of fun! Piper is a very easy going mixed breed pup. She is friendly with all pets, even cats. We love to adventure but we can be homebodies as well from time to time. So whether you want to swim and adventure the outdoors or hide from the heat and take a nap...we are here for you! I can no longer host at my apartment due to lease restrictions, but I am able to house sit and perform drop ins. I work full time at Colorado Mountain Medical. This has always been an enjoyable side gig for me ☺️ I live in Avon and will serve all of Eagle County. I am no longer available for hosting your pets per my lease agreement but I am available to house sit and walk your pets while you are away. I currently sit for a client in Eagle who has 2 cats. Frequent walks and lots of love are a guarantee. Responsible pet owner. I will stay in contact with you as little or as much as you desire while you are away. Pics included!

Ellie was phenomenal!! She said multiple nights at our house with our dog. We got so many fun and active photos of him, looking so happy 😊 we could not have asked for it to go better. We even had some electrical problems happen at the house when we were away and she went out of her way to help mitigate them! 10/10!

About: Hi! I'm a lifelong animal lover who grew up on a horse farm in Virginia, surrounded by dogs, cats, and horses. Caring for animals has always been a part of my life, and I have experience with dogs of all ages—from energetic puppies who need patience and training to senior dogs who deserve extra care and attention. I treat every pet like they're my own and always strive to provide a safe, loving, and fun environment. I work remotely, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to be home throughout the day. That means your dog will get plenty of attention, and companionship instead of being left alone for long periods. Whether it's a walk or an overnight stay, I'll keep your dog safe, active, and happy. I'll provide walks, potty breaks, meals, playtime, and lots of attention so you can have peace of mind while you're away.

FAQs for House Sitting - Red Cliff

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Red Cliff on Rover is $111 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 322 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Red Cliff. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Red Cliff walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Red Cliff maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Red Cliff choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Red Cliff. On Rover:

  • 86% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
