“We had a last minute 5-day trip pop up, and fortunately Jamie responded quickly and scheduled a meeting. Sophie can be a little grumpy around new people, so we asked Jamie to bring her dog Copper which was the answer. Copper brought out the puppy in Sophie! Jamie shared videos of the two playing. The house was immaculate on our return and Sophie was friskier than usual. We might need to borrow Copper! Thank you for a great weekend. We will call Jamie for our next trip.”

“Brooke was absolutely amazing with Estes! We are from out of town on vacation and, unfortunately, our dog barks when we go hiking without him. Instead of someone coming in and out to let him out, we decided to book her for the day to sit with him. She did exactly as we asked and he was so happy every time we came home. We can’t wait to use her when we return to the area. Thank you, Brooke!!!!!”

“Steven was very communicative and accommodating for us while staying with Hope and Oreo! He sent several photos, which is comforting when you are away and took Hope out and about like part of his family. We are lucky to have met Steven and his girl friend Seola since being newcomers to Breck!”

“We recently had the pleasure of having Natalie watch our home and dogs while we were away on vacation, and we couldn't be more grateful for the incredible job she did. From the moment we left, we felt completely at ease knowing everything was in such capable hands. Natalie was incredibly thorough and treated our home with the utmost respect. What truly stood out was her amazing care for our dogs—she took them on the most thoughtful, energy-burning hikes that left them happy, healthy, and totally tuckered out! It was clear she paid close attention to their needs and routines, and her updates gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Coming home to a clean house and two content pups was the best welcome back we could have asked for. We wholeheartedly recommend Natalie to anyone looking for someone reliable, kind, and detail-oriented. She's truly a gem!”

“Ken was amazing with my senior dog - even took him to work with him! Kept me up to date when I was out of the country for 10+ days and left my house in better shape than I left it. Would trust Ken again and highly recommend!!”
“Eric was a wonderful house and pet sitter! Our dog, Willow, loved Eric and his dog Rufus. Eric took Willow on many hikes and left our house in pristine condition. We would definitely recommend Eric to anyone living or staying in Summit County! Thank you so much!”

“Jodie was a phenomenal cat and house sitter for our 3 week vacation. She would give us regular updates and was always quick to reply. The cats and house were in great shape when we returned. So thankful for her time and attention to our furry kiddos.”

“Very pleased with Charisma! Did an in home stay with our three dogs for a weekend getaway and she kept in contact with us throughout the weekend, sent pictures, and took them all for multiple walks. Will definitely be booking again for our trips, so much better having them at home versus boarding!”

“Zach house sat and watched our dog over a holiday. He was very communicative and accomodating to both house and the dogs needs. We came home to a very happy pup! We would highly recommned.”

About: I’ve been caring for animals since I was 8 years old and grew up around a wide variety of pets. I’m a genuine animal lover and understand that every dog has a different personality, energy level, and comfort needs. I currently have an 8 YO chocolate lab who has never met a dog (or person) he doesn’t like. Because of that, I’m very experienced with socialization, active dogs, and reading canine behavior. I’m also certified in Cat & Dog First Aid through the American Red Cross, so your pet’s safety and wellbeing are always a top priority. Whether your pup loves adventures and hikes or prefers a calm and relaxing environment, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for like family. I work for a local public safety agency, which gives me 4 consecutive days off every week and a very flexible schedule. On my days off, I spend a lot of time outdoors and typically take dogs on hikes, walks, and adventures around Summit County. Because of my schedule, I’m able to provide plenty of attention, exercise, potty breaks, and companionship throughout the day instead of leaving pets alone for long periods of time. I live in a single family residence with a private yard, giving your pup space to relax, play, and decompress if needed. I can also provide crate accommodations for dogs who are crate trained or more comfortable with their own space. I always prioritize safety, supervision, and a calm environment. I take time to learn each dog’s routine, personality, and needs so they feel comfortable and secure while in my care.
About: I have had pets such as cats and dogs since I was a child. I have also worked with cows, goats, sheep, and horses. I love all four legged creatures and also love hiking, swimming, and traveling with my pets. I am currently working part-time in Breckenridge. I usually work 12-4 Thursday through Sunday. Currently available during mud season and am very flexible. I am pretty flexible usually and can take last minute bookings in the Breckenridge area. I am available for overnight stays if I can bring my senior dog who gets along with all dogs but not cats. I am available for day walking and drop-in visits if you are visiting the Breckenridge area during the summer and winter months and need someone to care for your fur children. I prefer to stay within 3-5 miles of Breckenridge town. I can walk, feed, or let your pets out during the day if you are here for a short or long vacation, depending on the situation.
“Finding a new dogsitter became incredibly stressful after our usual sitter moved away, but Holly completely eased our minds. She is hands down the best dogsitter we've ever had—extremely respectful and communicative. Our dogs can be quite challenging with their individual quirks, yet Holly showed patience and understanding. We will absolutely be booking with her again!”

About: I've had animals my entire life and can't imagine it any other way. I have a cat and a paralyzed black lab. Just last year I lost my 13.5 year old lab so I have extensive experience with elderly pups. I am very active and if walking or hiking is what your pup loves to do, that is what we will do! If they prefer couch time with belly rubs, I'm happy to oblige! I'm currently in between full time jobs. I am looking for some part time work! My schedule is flexible throughout the week in the morning/daytime/evening. Your pet will be cared for in the way you would prefer. If they need to be blocked off from certain rooms or crated while alone, walked a certain way, harness/no harness etc. those asks will be honored.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs for family members and friends for years. I have experience with puppies, and senior dogs as well as reactive dogs. I have a flexible schedule so I will be able to spend plenty of time with your pet and make sure they are well taken care of. I am very active and can make sure your pets activities needs are met. I am happy to cater to whatever your pet needs to keep their daily routine.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Breckenridge
Jamie was perfect for me and my older dog. She did a meet and greet, stayed at my house for 5 nights and 6 days, leaving my house like you couldn’t tell she had even been there. She is a good communicator. Would love to use her everytime I need a sitter. And best of all, I could tell that Boomer was well taken care of.
Steven was very communicative and accommodating for us while staying with Hope and Oreo! He sent several photos, which is comforting when you are away and took Hope out and about like part of his family. We are lucky to have met Steven and his girl friend Seola since being newcomers to Breck!

Bryn is THE absolute best! We took our pups to Breck for a winter vacation and needed a sitter for a half day. Bryn was not only willing to watch them in our ski lodge but took the bus to get there because her car was in the shop! Our fur babies were well taken care of. Bryn even hiked them in the snow (their favorite)! We received the cutest pictures! If we didn't live out of town we would have Bryn watch our pups all the time. She was the perfect person to look after our fur littles.

Savannah did an awesome job watching our dog, Cooper while we were away for the weekend. She was very communicative, took care to follow his care instructions, and left our house exactly as she found it. It is very apparent Cooper had a great time with her while we were away. I highly recommend Savannah for your pet sitting needs

The minute I met Rebekah, I could see she loves animals, and that put me instantly at ease. One of our cats is extremely shy and nervous, especially around women, and I told Rebekah that she would probably run and hide when she entered our house. The first day Rebekah dropped in to feed them, she captured a photo of our nervous cat, lying very comfortably on the couch, inaffected by Rebekah’s presence, and didn’t run away at all! Rebekah called it “a win” and I agree with her! Our cats were very content when we got home, and I think that’s because of Rebekah’s lovely nature. Animals just “know” when they feel safe with certain humans, and it showed with Rebekah. She followed all our instructions and we will definitely book her again.

Dariia went above and beyond when taking care of my fur babies, Bentley and Shadow. I have never had to use a pet sitter but my daughter was getting married so all family and friends were in attendance. To add to the excitement and anxiety we came to Colorado from Ohio. Dariia met with us prior to pet sitter day to ensure she was comfortable and compatible with Shadow and Bentley. She kept us informed with pictures and texts. Dariia was flexible and accommodating when I asked her to stay a little longer than expected. Thank you Dariia! Best wishes to you and your future endeavors!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Breckenridge on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 346 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Breckenridge. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Breckenridge walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Breckenridge maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Breckenridge choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Breckenridge. On Rover:
- 87% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
