Venetia was great with our two pets. Our dog hates the rain. It rained the entire week we were gone and she handled him very well. Our cat was awesome too, but not as awesome as this sitter. Give her a try if you are looking to bool a sitter

I was so nervous to leave my three pups for week long vacation across an ocean! Clare was amazing. She stayed in my home so my dogs could stay in their environment. She sent pics/vids where I could clearly tell they were being loved and cared for. Clare provided me an Incredible peace of mind so I could enjoy my time away!

Stephanie was communicative before and during our vacation, which we very much appreciate. She loves animals, was compassionate and attentive to our instructions. One of our dogs had tummy issues while we were away and poor Stephanie had to manage all-hours outings, but did so without complaint and with pity for Jack! We’d love to work with her again and recommend her confidently.

About: I’ve been caring for dogs since I was a teenager and have experience with a wide variety of breeds and personalities. Currently, I have a 4-year-old German Shepherd/Lab mix and a 4-month-old Jack Russell Terrier. Over the years, I’ve owned and cared for German Shepherds, Beagles, Pit Bulls, Jack Russells, Labradors, and Schnauzers, and at one point had as many as six dogs. I’ve also owned a cat and have experience caring for cats as well. Friends frequently trust me to pet sit for them, and I genuinely love spending time with animals. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, playful, or needs a little extra patience, I’ll treat them like they’re my own. I also am a Volunteer Dog walker and caregiver at Columbia Animal Shelter. I have a very flexible schedule and am committed to providing reliable, attentive care while you’re away. I’m currently in the army and work 2-3 days a week.my husband stays at home full time. I have a very flexible schedule. I care for every pet as if they were my own. In my client’s home, I follow their pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, potty breaks, walks, playtime, medications (if needed), and plenty of attention and affection. I know how important consistency is for pets, especially when their owners are away. If caring for pets in my home, I provide a safe, clean, and supervised environment with regular potty breaks, exercise, playtime, fresh water, and lots of love. I pay close attention to each pet’s individual needs, personality, and comfort level to help them feel secure and happy.

All that is necessary to say about Kristin is that when we came home it was as if we had never left. Everyone was calm and relaxed and clearly well taken care of, and the dogs very clearly missed her for a couple of days after we got home! When we first met, the dogs took to her immediately, and she was so at ease with them. She is clearly an expert in her field! She sent photo and video updates every day and asked questions when she needed to, but she was very independent about the whole sitting experience. We were able to enjoy our trip without any issues. Thank you Kristin!

About: I’m a lifelong animal lover with over 10 years of experience caring for pets, especially cats! I’ve volunteered at a nonprofit cat rescue where I helped feed, clean, and medicate cats in need, and I’ve also fostered both adult cats and tiny neonatal kittens (yes bottle feeding and all the adorable chaos that comes with it!). On top of that, I have pet sitting experience for both cats and dogs, so I’m comfortable stepping into all kinds of home routines and making sure pets feel safe, happy, and cared for while their people are away. I’ve cared for my own two cats for years, so I really understand all the little quirks, routines, and personalities that make each pet unique. Cats definitely have my heart, but I also have experience with dogs and am comfortable with smaller, calmer breeds; and happy to work with larger dogs as long as they’re well-trained. I bring lots of patience, love, and good energy to every animal I meet, and I treat every pet like they’re my own. 🐾 I am available seven days a week and strive to be as flexible as possible. During the week, I can typically accommodate 2–3 drop-in visits per day, and on weekends I can provide up to 5 drop-in visits as needed. For extended care, I may be available for overnight stays in your home depending on location and scheduling. Rates for overnight services vary. The best way to find out if I can accommodate your needs is to reach out! I'll always do my best to work with you and provide the highest level of care for your fur babies. When caring for pets in a client's home, I prioritize maintaining their normal routine to help them feel comfortable and secure. For drop-in visits, I provide feeding, fresh water, litter box or potty breaks, playtime, medication (if needed), and plenty of attention and affection. For house sitting, I ensure pets receive consistent care, exercise, companionship, and supervision while keeping their environment clean and stress-free. I always treat my clients' homes and pets with the same care and respect I would my own.

About: What sets me apart is the level of love, patience, and personal attention I give every dog in my care. I treat each pet like family, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I understand that every dog has their own personality, routine, and needs, so I focus on creating a calm and positive experience tailored specifically to them. I just graduated from college so my flexible schedule allows me to accommodate walks, feeding schedules, playtime, potty breaks, and personalized care throughout the week, including mornings, evenings, and weekends. Whether caring for energetic puppies or senior dogs needing extra patience and comfort, I adapt to each pet’s unique needs and routine. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I keep their normal routine consistent by following feeding instructions, providing fresh water, regular potty breaks, exercise, and companionship so they feel safe and comfortable. I'll closely monitor each pet’s needs and behavior, including special care for puppies, senior pets, or those needing medication.

About: I've taken care of dogs since I was 13 years old for friends, neighbors, and family members. I am comfortable will all dog breeds and ages, and have experience with many different types of dogs. I have previously worked for a small pet sitting/dog walking business as both a pet sitter/walker and office manager. About: I’ve been a lifelong animal lover and have cared for many dogs and cats over the years. While working at a boutique, I built strong relationships with customers and became a trusted, repeat sitter for their pets. I’ve also watched the pets of family and friends for years, giving me experience with a wide range of personalities, routines, and needs. Whether it’s a playful pup or a sweet, independent cat, I make sure every pet feels safe, loved, and happy while you’re away. I work full time Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 5:30, but I have an hour long lunch break where I can quickly come home and tend to the pets making sure they get potty breaks and attention. During the weekends I am wide open to anything and can give my full time and attention to your pet! I kept my parents' labradoodles at my apartment for one year while their new home was being built. The labradoodles loved staying at the apartment. They had plenty of space to eat, play, and sleep. I of course will make sure to take your dog on quality long walks to ensure they are getting proper exercise while staying at the apartment. I also am experience in staying at the pet owners' home while I take care of their pets. I make sure to walk dogs, feed them according to the owners' instructions, and provide them with lots of love and affection.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 15 years old. We have had a dog for many years and I love cats too. I have taken care of many neighbors and friends’ pets over the years. I am currently in graduate school but I have online summer classes. So I have plenty of time during the day to come take care of your fur babies! I do not have a fenced in yard, but I am happy to care for your pet in your home. I am also happy to walk them in your neighborhood.

Johann did an amazing job with Duck his first time watching him! He is very knowledgeable of animal behavior and different breeds. We got adorable videos of our pup throughout the weekend and plenty of updates that put my mind at ease. Our dog has some health concerns and he did a great job tackling his medications and restrictions. He also left the house cleaner than when he arrived! Highly recommend booking with Johann for your next trip.

Jonathan saved our vacation. We had booked with another sitter that never showed up, so we were messaging other sitters frantically on Rover. Jonathan responded very quickly, accepted the job, and showed up within half an hour. I introduced him to the dogs and they immediately loved him. Throughout the week he provided updates and photos. He took them for walks to a local park and around the neighborhood. After a nightmare of a start to our vacation, Jonathan put our minds completely at ease. We could not have asked for a better dog sitter.

FAQs for House Sitting - Ravenwood

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Ravenwood on Rover is $32.19 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 640 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Ravenwood. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Ravenwood walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Ravenwood maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ravenwood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ravenwood. On Rover:

  • 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
