About: I’ve been caring for dogs since I was a teenager and have experience with a wide variety of breeds and personalities. Currently, I have a 4-year-old German Shepherd/Lab mix and a 4-month-old Jack Russell Terrier. Over the years, I’ve owned and cared for German Shepherds, Beagles, Pit Bulls, Jack Russells, Labradors, and Schnauzers, and at one point had as many as six dogs. I’ve also owned a cat and have experience caring for cats as well. Friends frequently trust me to pet sit for them, and I genuinely love spending time with animals. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, playful, or needs a little extra patience, I’ll treat them like they’re my own. I also am a Volunteer Dog walker and caregiver at Columbia Animal Shelter. I have a very flexible schedule and am committed to providing reliable, attentive care while you’re away. I’m currently in the army and work 2-3 days a week.my husband stays at home full time. I have a very flexible schedule. I care for every pet as if they were my own. In my client’s home, I follow their pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, potty breaks, walks, playtime, medications (if needed), and plenty of attention and affection. I know how important consistency is for pets, especially when their owners are away. If caring for pets in my home, I provide a safe, clean, and supervised environment with regular potty breaks, exercise, playtime, fresh water, and lots of love. I pay close attention to each pet’s individual needs, personality, and comfort level to help them feel secure and happy.
About: What sets me apart is the level of love, patience, and personal attention I give every dog in my care. I treat each pet like family, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I understand that every dog has their own personality, routine, and needs, so I focus on creating a calm and positive experience tailored specifically to them. I just graduated from college so my flexible schedule allows me to accommodate walks, feeding schedules, playtime, potty breaks, and personalized care throughout the week, including mornings, evenings, and weekends. Whether caring for energetic puppies or senior dogs needing extra patience and comfort, I adapt to each pet’s unique needs and routine. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I keep their normal routine consistent by following feeding instructions, providing fresh water, regular potty breaks, exercise, and companionship so they feel safe and comfortable. I'll closely monitor each pet’s needs and behavior, including special care for puppies, senior pets, or those needing medication.
“Abby was WONDERFUL! The care and the love she gave our fur baby was amazing. She gave our dog lots of attention by walking her, playing with her inside and outside. Not was our dog given the best of care, but also our home. We came back to a very happy dog and a well kept house! Thank you so much!!!”

“Kairah’s the best! My husband and I were gone out the country for our anniversary (8 days )without a single worry. She sent videos and pictures of our sweet boy Sebastian. She took great care of him with belly rubs, daily walks, brushing his coat, and playing with him. We will definitely book her again for our next adventure!”

“Aaron was absolutely amazing caring for our 3 doggies for 9 days. We were super nervous to leave them, but Aaron made us feel stress free. He was super communicative with morning, afternoon, and nighttime check-ins with pictures and how they spent their days. He went above and beyond, even cleaning, washing the linens, and leaving a delicious blueberry breakfast treat. He was exceptional. Our dogs loved him and he will definitely be our go-to person from now on.”

About: I’m a lifelong animal lover with over 10 years of experience caring for pets, especially cats! I’ve volunteered at a nonprofit cat rescue where I helped feed, clean, and medicate cats in need, and I’ve also fostered both adult cats and tiny neonatal kittens (yes bottle feeding and all the adorable chaos that comes with it!). On top of that, I have pet sitting experience for both cats and dogs, so I’m comfortable stepping into all kinds of home routines and making sure pets feel safe, happy, and cared for while their people are away. I’ve cared for my own two cats for years, so I really understand all the little quirks, routines, and personalities that make each pet unique. Cats definitely have my heart, but I also have experience with dogs and am comfortable with smaller, calmer breeds; and happy to work with larger dogs as long as they’re well-trained. I bring lots of patience, love, and good energy to every animal I meet, and I treat every pet like they’re my own. 🐾 I am available seven days a week and strive to be as flexible as possible. During the week, I can typically accommodate 2–3 drop-in visits per day, and on weekends I can provide up to 5 drop-in visits as needed. For extended care, I may be available for overnight stays in your home depending on location and scheduling. Rates for overnight services vary. The best way to find out if I can accommodate your needs is to reach out! I'll always do my best to work with you and provide the highest level of care for your fur babies. When caring for pets in a client's home, I prioritize maintaining their normal routine to help them feel comfortable and secure. For drop-in visits, I provide feeding, fresh water, litter box or potty breaks, playtime, medication (if needed), and plenty of attention and affection. For house sitting, I ensure pets receive consistent care, exercise, companionship, and supervision while keeping their environment clean and stress-free. I always treat my clients' homes and pets with the same care and respect I would my own.
“Once again, the pups had a ball with Dominic on our quick trip out of town. We got lots of fun photos and updates to let us know that they were doing just fine and enjoying some time away from us. Thanks again Dominic for taking such great care of our furbabies!”

“Rachel was great! I was nervous about leaving the dogs with a new person I’d not met in-person. We FaceTimed and talked all weekend. She sent tons of videos and pictures. Left my house clean and my babies were so happy. I will definitely use her again.”
“Stephanie was communicative before and during our vacation, which we very much appreciate. She loves animals, was compassionate and attentive to our instructions. One of our dogs had tummy issues while we were away and poor Stephanie had to manage all-hours outings, but did so without complaint and with pity for Jack! We’d love to work with her again and recommend her confidently.”

“We had a wonderful experience with Chloe! She took great care of our dog and two cats while we were away and gave us total peace of mind. She sent frequent pictures and check-ins, which we really appreciated, and it was clear our pets were happy and well cared for. We would absolutely recommend her and would love to have her sit for us again!”

“This was our first time having Haley stay with Olaf (a senior Bichon), and she was wonderful! I could tell by the photos she sent to me that Olaf was very happy with her! Everything was in order and clean when we returned. I'm grateful that we found Haley, and look forward to having her again. If anyone needs a great sitter, she's the one you want. She understands and loves animals, and that makes all the difference.”

“Sean is professional and dependable! We have Three dogs, small, medium and large with varied personalities and he took great care of each one. We were gone 4 nights, it was so nice to receive photos and updates each day, something we never got from boarding with a kennel or vet! Communication was great! We highly recommend Sean and we will definitely be calling him again the next time we go out of town.”

About: I have experience with senior dogs as I took care of my own senior dog while I was in high school, so I am aware of the unique love and care that they need and appreciate. I also love working with high energy dogs as my family dog back home Toby has unlimited energy for play, so I would love to help your dog get their fill while you’re away! I also now have a cat of my own (shout out James) and I absolutely love taking care of cats and their unique quirks! I would love to take care of your wonderful cat so they are comfortable and taken care of while you’re away from home! I am currently getting my master's in counseling, so I have plenty of time during the day outside of my few class times to make sure your pet is properly taken care for! I spoil my cat James! I have adjusted my balcony in my apartment to make sure he gets plenty of time to bird watch with me while I enjoy my morning coffee and book! Figuring out his unique personality and how to take care of him based on his needs was important, as he is very particular with the types of toys he likes! I also loved getting him a water fountain instead of a bowl to make sure James gets enough water! All that being said I want to make sure I spoil your dog or cat just as good as I care for my James!
“Timia did amazing by with our boy. She was communicative, she left our home better than she found it, and was very kind and present for our baby. 10/10 recommended- will be seeing if she is available first for all trips.”

“Kristin was wonderful with my 2 senior dogs for the first time i used a sitter. She sent me multiple pictures and a few videos which showed me how well they were doing and responding to her. She is very kind and caring. I will DEFINITELY request her again!”

“Carley was amazing! I highly recommend her! She was professional, on time, and checked in on my dogs multiple times a day. Carley checked in with me multiple times a day and sent me multiple photos. I felt very comfortable knowing she was taking such good care of my boys. I will definitely book her again!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred State Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in State Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in State Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in State Park. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
