“Abigail was a great sitter for my fur babies! She gave me daily visit updates and sent pictures too. The pups loved her and I will definitely recommend her to others who are looking for a sitter!”

“Kairah’s the best! My husband and I were gone out the country for our anniversary (8 days )without a single worry. She sent videos and pictures of our sweet boy Sebastian. She took great care of him with belly rubs, daily walks, brushing his coat, and playing with him. We will definitely book her again for our next adventure!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs since I was a teenager and have experience with a wide variety of breeds and personalities. Currently, I have a 4-year-old German Shepherd/Lab mix and a 4-month-old Jack Russell Terrier. Over the years, I’ve owned and cared for German Shepherds, Beagles, Pit Bulls, Jack Russells, Labradors, and Schnauzers, and at one point had as many as six dogs. I’ve also owned a cat and have experience caring for cats as well. Friends frequently trust me to pet sit for them, and I genuinely love spending time with animals. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, playful, or needs a little extra patience, I’ll treat them like they’re my own. I also am a Volunteer Dog walker and caregiver at Columbia Animal Shelter. I have a very flexible schedule and am committed to providing reliable, attentive care while you’re away. I’m currently in the army and work 2-3 days a week.my husband stays at home full time. I have a very flexible schedule. I care for every pet as if they were my own. In my client’s home, I follow their pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, potty breaks, walks, playtime, medications (if needed), and plenty of attention and affection. I know how important consistency is for pets, especially when their owners are away. If caring for pets in my home, I provide a safe, clean, and supervised environment with regular potty breaks, exercise, playtime, fresh water, and lots of love. I pay close attention to each pet’s individual needs, personality, and comfort level to help them feel secure and happy.
“Aaron is simply amazing! This is our 2nd time having him dog sit at our house. He goes above and beyond the call of duty. He is very communicate, sending updates and pictures at least twice a day. We don't have to worry or stress about our fur babies or our home when we are away. He is our go to person.”

“Dominic was responsible and very tidy. She sent a when she was here with the dogs each and left the house neat as a pin when she left. She took great notes on the dogs needs and we felt comfortable with her taking care of the fur babies while we were gone.”

“We had a wonderful experience with Chloe! She took great care of our dog and two cats while we were away and gave us total peace of mind. She sent frequent pictures and check-ins, which we really appreciated, and it was clear our pets were happy and well cared for. We would absolutely recommend her and would love to have her sit for us again!”

“Rachel always makes me feel at ease when she’s with our dogs! She sends frequent updates and I really feel she loves them like her own. To top it off, we had flight issues that made it so we would be gone two extra nights and she was willing to go the extra mile and stay with them despite having her own life and responsibilities. We are just feeling so grateful for Rachel!”
About: I’m a lifelong animal lover with over 10 years of experience caring for pets, especially cats! I’ve volunteered at a nonprofit cat rescue where I helped feed, clean, and medicate cats in need, and I’ve also fostered both adult cats and tiny neonatal kittens (yes bottle feeding and all the adorable chaos that comes with it!). On top of that, I have pet sitting experience for both cats and dogs, so I’m comfortable stepping into all kinds of home routines and making sure pets feel safe, happy, and cared for while their people are away. I’ve cared for my own two cats for years, so I really understand all the little quirks, routines, and personalities that make each pet unique. Cats definitely have my heart, but I also have experience with dogs and am comfortable with smaller, calmer breeds; and happy to work with larger dogs as long as they’re well-trained. I bring lots of patience, love, and good energy to every animal I meet, and I treat every pet like they’re my own. 🐾 I am available seven days a week and strive to be as flexible as possible. During the week, I can typically accommodate 2–3 drop-in visits per day, and on weekends I can provide up to 5 drop-in visits as needed. For extended care, I may be available for overnight stays in your home depending on location and scheduling. Rates for overnight services vary. The best way to find out if I can accommodate your needs is to reach out! I'll always do my best to work with you and provide the highest level of care for your fur babies. When caring for pets in a client's home, I prioritize maintaining their normal routine to help them feel comfortable and secure. For drop-in visits, I provide feeding, fresh water, litter box or potty breaks, playtime, medication (if needed), and plenty of attention and affection. For house sitting, I ensure pets receive consistent care, exercise, companionship, and supervision while keeping their environment clean and stress-free. I always treat my clients' homes and pets with the same care and respect I would my own.
“Thank you for being there for Bentley when we can't be. I know he enjoys your company and we can't forget ball time lol.See you in the last weekend of Jan. Seriously longest month ever!”

“All that is necessary to say about Kristin is that when we came home it was as if we had never left. Everyone was calm and relaxed and clearly well taken care of, and the dogs very clearly missed her for a couple of days after we got home! When we first met, the dogs took to her immediately, and she was so at ease with them. She is clearly an expert in her field! She sent photo and video updates every day and asked questions when she needed to, but she was very independent about the whole sitting experience. We were able to enjoy our trip without any issues. Thank you Kristin!”

“Sean is professional and dependable! We have Three dogs, small, medium and large with varied personalities and he took great care of each one. We were gone 4 nights, it was so nice to receive photos and updates each day, something we never got from boarding with a kennel or vet! Communication was great! We highly recommend Sean and we will definitely be calling him again the next time we go out of town.”

About: I've taken care of dogs since I was 13 years old for friends, neighbors, and family members. I am comfortable will all dog breeds and ages, and have experience with many different types of dogs. I have previously worked for a small pet sitting/dog walking business as both a pet sitter/walker and office manager. I, myself, have an older German Shepard that needs frequent play time and takes medicine daily; I am very comfortable administering medicine to dogs. I am currently taking online college classes to obtain my bachelor's in Kinesiology. I do have a job as a personal trainer/group instructor and admin for a small gym in the area. I am available early mornings before 8am and afternoons after 1pm. I have experience in homes with and without fences, with dogs who are and are not crate trained and very comfortable, and experienced, with calm and excited dogs.
“Timia was great to our pups while we were away! She was a joy to get to meet beforehand. She took her time letting the dogs get to know her. Dogs seemed to have a great time with her here, and we came home to two well cared for pups. Thanks Timia for easing our minds while we were away, and loving on them extra well. If schedules align, we will definitely have Timia back!”

About: When it comes to family pets, from tiny little munchkin cat breed all the way to Irish Wolfhound, they all deserve the love and respect as a extended family member (or sometime even as our own fur baby). Being raised around Chows and Aussie Shepards, I have experience in both “aggressive” and friendly breeds. A critter is only as bad as the owner. As long as there is at least 24-48hr notification, I’m a pretty flexible person. Seven days a week I’d be available to drop in and say hi, play a little, feed and do potty breaks. Clean as I go to include litter boxes. If being asked to stay overnight, it would be at your location for the best comfort of the animal. My house is a fenced in yard. We typically, based on weather, have my pups run outside once very 2/3 hours. Outside of that, we do regular walks up to 2 miles at least twice a week (again, based on weather). We play games like catch and hidden treat games for enrichment. For the family cat, he is currently maintained by one of my kids but, we allow him free roam and sometimes trips outside on a leash. He has a XXL dog kennel that we will set up when we are outside and he wants to join us to ensure he is bird safe. He very much likes to be a window watcher and enjoys the squirrels a little more than my dogs.
“This was our first time having Haley stay with Olaf (a senior Bichon), and she was wonderful! I could tell by the photos she sent to me that Olaf was very happy with her! Everything was in order and clean when we returned. I'm grateful that we found Haley, and look forward to having her again. If anyone needs a great sitter, she's the one you want. She understands and loves animals, and that makes all the difference.”

“Stephanie was communicative before and during our vacation, which we very much appreciate. She loves animals, was compassionate and attentive to our instructions. One of our dogs had tummy issues while we were away and poor Stephanie had to manage all-hours outings, but did so without complaint and with pity for Jack! We’d love to work with her again and recommend her confidently.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred State Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in State Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in State Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
