About: I’ve grown up in a household full of furry family! I love caring for animals of all sorts and I’ve had experience with dog sitting for a few of my mom’s coworkers, dog walking through Care .com, and volunteering with military working dogs! I also have two cats of my own that are very friendly and love to play with new friends! I am a disabled veteran that recently retired from the military. I have a lot of free time on my hands and I would like to spend this time doing the thing I love which is working with / spending time with animals. I am more than happy to care for your pet any time you need. I will always be transparent, ask permission or ask questions about your pet. I am very commutative and can frequently update the pets parent. And lastly I treat all pets as if they’re my own and give nothing but love and care!

Haley took care of our 5 cats and 1 dog during an overnight visit. All of our kids seemed happy and relaxed when we got home. Our extremely shy cats even came out shortly after she arrived -- this means they felt very safe with her. We were impressed; she has a demeanor that makes pets feel very safe. She took great care of everyone, and also gave medication to one of our cats. She sent several photos of our kids, which we appreciated.

Katie was absolutely amazing! She stayed at our house and watched our Golden Retriever for 5 nights while we were on vacation, and he absolutely loved her. It was such a relief knowing he was happy, comfortable in his own home, and being well taken care of while we were away. Katie was trustworthy, caring, and did a great job with him. We came home to a happy dog and everything just as we left it. We would absolutely book Katie again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can trust to stay overnight and take great care of their dog!

One of our sweet fur babies recently received some bad news from our vet. This was our first time leaving him since his diagnosis, & I was so worried. Between that & my work schedule being so hectic, the lead up to our trip out of town was just a mess. Stephanie made everything SO much easier for us. Knowing she was caring for them while we were away put me totally at ease. She is kind, patient, communicative, & so very thoughtful. I loved getting updates and check-ins from her. Our cat has had a very poor appetite, & she went above and beyond to try to get him to eat—which means the world to me. It’s not always easy to find someone you can trust with your pets—especially if one of them is ill or takes medication—but Stephanie is the BEST!

About: I've been providing large animal care for over eight years. I have cared for many dogs, cats, horses, and chickens. I currently have a horse of my own, as well as a three year old bearded dragon. I also had my own chickens for over ten years. Pet care brings me great joy, and I love getting to know the fur babies that I am lucky enough to care for. I am a college student, but am now on summer break. I currently have extensive availability, and am flexible with dates and times. I will still be available once classes begin, but with changes depending on my schedule. I am happy to provide care and attention to pets who are highly social, but also work well with those who prefer a bit of distance or may be more uncomfortable around strangers. I take slow steps to gain the trust of new animals, and make sure they can clearly understand my intentions in order to prevent startling them. I tend to ask owners plently of questions to be sure the animal's specific needs are met to the best of my ability. I am happy to send plently of pictures and updates throughout my time caring for your critters!

About: *New Rover customers can use promo code JENP40985 for $20 dollars off their first booking with me! Hi, my name is Jen and I’m a local Realtor who truly loves animals. I’m excited to meet you and your fur babies. I believe in giving pets the same unconditional love and attention they give us, and caring for animals has always been a natural part of my life. I currently have one little baby of my own, Sophie Grace, an 9 year old Yorkie Poo who weighs about 15 pounds. I also help care for a couple of homeless cats in my neighborhood. Over the years, I have volunteered with a small local organization called Paws 4 Adoption and have fostered many animals while helping them find their forever homes. I have had pets my entire life and have always cared for the animals of neighbors, friends, and family members. I joined Rover after learning firsthand how stressful traditional boarding facilities can be. During a routine vet visit over the Christmas holidays a few years ago, I witnessed an overcrowded boarding situation that left a lasting impression on me. Dogs were crated floor to ceiling, with the smallest dogs placed at the top. It was shocking and concerning, and it made me realize I would never be comfortable placing my own pets in a facility like that. Another concern I discovered when researching boarding facilities was the lack of overnight supervision. Many facilities have no staff onsite from evening until morning, which means pets can be left alone for extended periods of time. While cameras may be available, they cannot provide comfort, respond to emergencies, or ensure safety during storms, fires, or other unexpected situations. For me, true peace of mind comes from knowing my pets are actively cared for at all times. Using a pet sitter may cost a little more than boarding, but I believe it is worth it. Pets are able to stay in a familiar environment, follow their normal routines, and receive individual attention. If a pet becomes anxious during a storm, needs a potty break during the night, or simply misses their family, I am there to comfort and care for them. I have spent many nights sleeping beside a dog bed or bringing a nervous pet into my own bed, and I treat every animal in my care with the same love and patience I give my own. I also have young adults at home who share my passion for animals and are always happy to help provide extra attention and affection when needed. To ensure we are a good fit, I prefer to meet in person prior to a booking whenever possible. My goal is to give you complete peace of mind whether I’m caring for your pet in your home or mine, providing daycare, dog walking, in home care or drop in visits. I also happily care for cats, and there is a dedicated section for feline services on Rover. Please note that holiday rates, additional pets, and puppy pricing are not always calculated accurately by the Rover app and may need to be adjusted and approved manually before a booking is finalized. Pricing is flexible, as every pet has different needs and temperaments, and I am always open to discussing details specific to your pet. My priority is simple. Your dog or cat will be safe, loved, and cared for as if they were my own. That is a promise I take seriously. To me they aren’t just animals, they are family members! I look forward to meeting you and your fur baby soon. Warmly, Jen I’m a licensed and active Realtor and work from home so, my schedule is flexible. When I do go out I’m usually not out more than a few hours. I try hard to keep your pet on the same schedule it’s used too. This is with feedings, medications, walks etc. I have a large fenced in backyard. I will never let your dog out in the yard without supervision. I have small babies and I take the risk of predators on the ground and in the air very seriously. I also understand that some dogs like to dig and can easily and quickly dig under the fence. I only care for one or two dogs at a time and I prefer not to mix other family pets unless I know their temperament will work. If I do host another families pet I keep them apart until I know they will work out well together. I have one small dog and won’t introduce my little one with yours unless they’ll be spending enough time together and they get along. I want to ensure your pet/s and mine are as stress free and happy as possible.

What a godsend! We were hesitant to take a trip as our Benji has high anxiety but Meghann was an absolute gift! She took such great care of our pup and our home. She provided outstanding communication with updates and pictures that made our time away so much more relaxing. We couldn’t believe how Benji warmed up to her. She’s a whisperer! Our home was tidy and clean and she even came back and stayed with our Boy since our return was delayed. Five stars are not enough…. We will definitely book her again and again.

Aaron was absolutely amazing caring for our 3 doggies for 9 days. We were super nervous to leave them, but Aaron made us feel stress free. He was super communicative with morning, afternoon, and nighttime check-ins with pictures and how they spent their days. He went above and beyond, even cleaning, washing the linens, and leaving a delicious blueberry breakfast treat. He was exceptional. Our dogs loved him and he will definitely be our go-to person from now on.

This was my first time having a sitter stay in my house and take care of our two dogs. I was very, very nervous but Ruth is wonderful and so sweet. She was very respectful of our home and made sure to let our dogs out throughout day even though she was at school/working (she is quite the hard worker!). She was understanding of all their little quirks lol She was a great communicator and guest in our home. I would definitely book with her.

FAQs for House Sitting - Killian

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Killian on Rover is $38.85 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 614 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Killian. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Killian walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Killian maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Killian choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Killian. On Rover:

  • 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 91% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
