“We had the pleasure of having Alesia take care of our two cats while we were away, and we couldn't be happier with the experience. Alesia went above and beyond in caring for our fur babies, especially with our diabetic cat who requires daily medication. She was incredibly responsible and made sure to follow our instructions perfectly, administering the medicine with great care. She also kept us updated with photos and messages, which made us feel at ease knowing our cats were in such good hands. Alesia was professional, reliable, and truly compassionate about animals. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring cat sitter!”

“My dog is slow to warm up to strangers, but she took to Tracy almost immediately during the meet and greet. Sent me updates and pics everyday even if I didn’t have cell signal to be able to respond back. Tracy was also very accommodating to my fluctuating schedule. Will definitely hire her again in the future!”

“Tess did an amazing job sitting for our pups. Punctual, very communicative, and most importantly our dogs were tuckered out at the end of the day. Will definitely hire again, A++ reliable sitter!”

About: My family and I started using Rover in 2018 when our 17-year-old dog, Faith, needed to be watched during the day. Rover helped make our last months with her a little easier and less stressful until she passed away in early 2019. I began to work with Rover myself in 2020 while I teleworked for two years because of the pandemic. Since then, my family and I have welcomed dozens of dogs into our home. Over a year ago, we relocated to Ranson, West Virginia from Fairfax, Virginia and two of our clients often still travel to our new home for us to board their dogs. I am still working full-time but my parents, Carla and Rob, have been providing great service during the day. We only look after one dog at a time, and someone is always with them so you can rest assured that your dog will get the love, care, and undivided attention that he or she deserves. We love all kinds of dogs and will look after yours like it was our own! In fact, this past April my family and I adopted Milo from a family who used to board him with us. They could no longer give him the attention he needed so they reached out to us to make him a part of our family. I work Tuesday-Saturday and am away from home from 5:30am-6:00pm. My mom works from home remotely and my dad retired and provide excellent care and attention during the day. I ensure that your dog gets plenty of love and attention. They have frequent potty breaks and neighborhood walks. I have plenty of dog treats and toys to keep them entertained and occupied.
“We've always used Elena to care for our cats whenever we travel, and we will continue to use only her. She is quick to communicate any issues. Our cats are comfortable with her and are happy, calm, and well cared for every time we arrive home. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for pet care.”

About: I have had a disabled dog of my own since I was 8, he has seizures frequently. I also have dog sat for my neighbor on multiple occasions, of which was very large, required medication, and emotional support for her anxiety. I work part time at a restaurant so I have more than enough time to provide high quality and detailed care to your furry family members. If I work, they're typically nights, so I am more available during the day or after I get off work to do some final check ins with the pets before bed. As the care would only happen in your home, I take great pride in leaving the home better than I found it and ensuring your pets health, comfortability, and safety with the information and materials provided to me.
“Ande made the process very stress free! Letting someone into our home made us uneasy — but she made us very comfortable doing so! She was communicative about everything, and our dogs warmed up to her quickly. She was on time, thorough, and prioritized our dogs as if they were her own! Absolutely loved hiring her (slightly last minute, as well) and highly recommend!”

“Disha was amazing!! She was extremely communicative and kept me updated throughout my trip. She went to the store to get some extra litter for my kitten when it ran out and she sent lots of videos!! My kitty looked so happy and excited to see her and she took such good care of him!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Ranson
Alexis was amazing! She was always on time, super reliable, and gave great updates with notes and photos after every visit. She even checked that our home looked good for showings, which we really appreciated. Highly recommend and would definitely book with her again!

As a pet sitter myself, I’m pretty particular about who I trust with my pets. Catherine took such great care of my cat, Boo, and I’m so glad I chose her. She was attentive, kind, and clearly took the time to understand Boo’s routine and personality. I really appreciated the updates and felt completely at ease while I was away. I came home to a happy, relaxed cat. I’d absolutely trust Catherine again and can highly recommend her.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ranson. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
