“Tess did an amazing job sitting for our pups. Punctual, very communicative, and most importantly our dogs were tuckered out at the end of the day. Will definitely hire again, A++ reliable sitter!”

“Kelley is our go-to pet sitter now because she’s gained the trust of our skittish cats! I would highly recommend her as she takes the time to get to know your pets and make them feel comfortable while you’re away. She also takes great photos 😊”

“Macy is going through Heartworm kill treatment and Megan knows the restrictions when dropping in on her for potty breaks. So glad I don’t have to worry that my crazy girl’s heart rate will be compromised and she will be restrained from zoomies. But Lord help her when no holds barred!! ? Thank you Megan.”

About: I have grown up with cats and dogs my whole life, I’m a complete animal lover! I currently have a cat and one dog. I’m very familiar with puppies and the training that goes with it. I’ve had dogs that were big and small, as well as kitties! I’m an animal rescue advocate, I have been fostering over the past two years now (both cats and dogs). With that being said, I’ve fostered a great deal of different dogs who have been scared and shut down or the total opposite! Overall, I’m very experienced with taking care of both cats and dogs! My availability schedule is flexible; I currently work part-time. I’m available from 7am-12pm for any animal care needs as well as after 8pm. On the weekends, I have full flexibility with scheduling. I live in a beautiful, spacious home with my cat and one dog. I have a fenced in yard and plenty of space for play time! My cat and dog are both cat/dog friendly. I live in a great neighborhood for lots of walks as well as live close by to parks and such!
About: I have had a disabled dog of my own since I was 8, he has seizures frequently. I also have dog sat for my neighbor on multiple occasions, of which was very large, required medication, and emotional support for her anxiety. I work part time at a restaurant so I have more than enough time to provide high quality and detailed care to your furry family members. If I work, they're typically nights, so I am more available during the day or after I get off work to do some final check ins with the pets before bed. As the care would only happen in your home, I take great pride in leaving the home better than I found it and ensuring your pets health, comfortability, and safety with the information and materials provided to me.

“I wanted Day to spend some time with my dogs prior to an extended dog sit. My GSD likes to jump on people who enter the house and gets very excited. Day took charge and let Mira know to get off and waited for her to calm down before proceeding. Both dogs have specific needs ranging from sensitive stomach issues to elderly care issues. Day got to spend time with the dogs while I left them alone to get acquainted. The visit went well. Dogs were snuggled up on the couch with Day upon my return.”

“Zeel was great! She played with my cats, cleaned up their messes, communicated with me each day while we were away, and sent photos! I would absolutely book with her again in the future!”

“Sarah and Rover was such a good choice for us. 3 catz, each with distinct needs requires a special touch, and Sarah has that, and more! We are 100% satisfied with this service and will use Sarah for our pets again. Kudos to Rover!”

“Lauren is an absolute gem! Not only is she reliable and professional, but she goes above and beyond with my anxious dog. She sent regular updates and pictures on their walks, and really understands my German Shepherd’s personality. We're so grateful to have found her!”

About: Grew up dog sitting many different breeds and ages. Had a beagle myself growing up. While in the military and overseas I got my German shepherd. I fostered a pitt, Frenchie, and a mastiff overseas as well. Very comfortable providing care needed and medication. I am in school full time online, this provides me with a lot of free time that will allow me to provide extra care for your animals. I live in a great area where I can walk and care for different animals. Your animals will feel very safe with me caring for them.
“Disha was amazing!! She was extremely communicative and kept me updated throughout my trip. She went to the store to get some extra litter for my kitten when it ran out and she sent lots of videos!! My kitty looked so happy and excited to see her and she took such good care of him!”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
