“We had an amazing experience with Farrin as our pet sitter for our dog, Taco. She took excellent care of him overnight, making sure to give him plenty of playtime and cuddles while we were away. Farrin was respectful of our home, leaving everything clean and tidy, which we really appreciated. She even came by for a meet and greet before the booking, giving us peace of mind. We would absolutely book with Farrin again in a heartbeat! Highly recommend her!”

“Olga & Stepan were excellent! They cared for our 3 pets (two cats and dog) while we were gone for the day—they gave the dog her daily pill, took her out, played their special game, and even went above and beyond to leave the house better than when we left it. We are looking forward to having them back for a longer visit.”

About: I have taken care of multiple animals throughout my life, mainly elder neighbors who cannot fully take care of their animals because of scheduling conflicts. I prefer overnight visits and stays just to ensure no schedules are disrupted. I currently attend UVA full-time as a Master's Student, and work Saturday nights at a restaurant in Cville. But I always make time for the animals in my life! I have a fenced-in yard, I walk dogs either for short 15/20 minutes, or a longer (5 miles) depending on a breed's needs and requirements. Otherwise, we can lounge and play with toys together.

About: when you choose me as your pet sitter, you have nothing to worry about. I care for all pets as if they're my own. I live in an apartment and I'm currently only available to do boarding with one dogs but will consider two if they are bonded pair. before any boarding or housesitting services confirmed, I require we meet in person to ensure all the details are understood and that your dogs are OK with my dog. I have a 30 pound beagle mix named Daisy who is three years old and she will be with me at all times. I am always available for drop in visits and dog walking. prices fluctuate due to various factors but the main ones these days are gas prices and distance of travel. I.e The farther away you are the more likely there is that a added fee will occur before confirmation of service. I provide pet care in services full-time as of November 2021. I am available at any time if you need me. i'm currently available for the following services: housesitting, pet boarding, drop in visit, dog walking for 30 minutes or 60 minutes, and one on one dog training. if your dog is with me, I live in a neighborhood that is very dog friendly. We have two dog parks and I am often at these dog parks at least once a day. However if you have a dog that is not comfortable with that I would not take them there. I would focus on other activities that are more suited to your pet. I also take a lot of pictures and I am constantly in contact with you so you don't have to worry where or what we're doing. I currently work as a therapist with an office in the Madison area, right next to the plow and hearth. My schedule is pretty flexible and it changes weekly as my client needs change. I am almost always around, that makes me a great person for any last minute bookings needed. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. In my home, I provide a calm, pet-friendly environment with plenty of affection, daily walks, and playtime tailored to your pet’s needs. I keep the space clean, secure, and low-stress, with my own well-behaved dog Daisy as a companion if your pet is comfortable. When staying in your home, I’m respectful of your space and your pet’s routine. I follow all instructions closely, maintain regular updates, and work to ensure your pet feels safe and cared for in their familiar environment. I aim to build trust with both pets and their people every step of the way.

About: Welcome! With 15+ years of experience and a genuine love for dogs, I provide a calm, safe, home-away-from-home experience for your pup. I work from home, so when your dog stays with me, they’re never left alone—they have companionship, supervision, and care 24/7. I also only accept one family’s pets at a time, so your dog receives my full attention without the stress of a crowded environment. My fully fenced one-acre yard offers plenty of space to run, play, and explore safely, while inside they’re treated like part of the family. My goal is simple: to give you complete peace of mind knowing your pet is safe, loved, and cared for as if they were my own. I look forward to welcoming you and your furry family member! Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I work from home full-time, which allows me to be fully present and attentive throughout the day. My dogs are part of my life, not just my schedule — and the same goes for any pet I care for. I build my day around walks, enrichment activities, playtime, and quiet moments, making sure each dog gets the stimulation and comfort they need. Rover isn't just a side gig for me — it’s something I genuinely care about. I love being able to share my time and home with other pets, giving them the same level of love and attention I give to my own. In my home, your pet will be treated like one of the family. I have a fully fenced one-acre yard for safe, supervised outdoor play, and two small, friendly dogs to provide companionship if your pup enjoys socializing. I ensure 24/7 access to fresh drinking water, regular bathroom breaks, and a calm, cozy indoor environment where your dog can relax freely — crated only if you prefer. I follow your care instructions closely, including administering any medications as prescribed. Whether it’s maintaining their feeding schedule, providing playtime, or offering extra snuggles, I make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved — just like they would at home.

About: I’ve been caring for animals for over 30 years and have experience with dogs, cats, and other household pets. As a pet owner myself, I currently have two cats and understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pets and home. In addition to caring for my own pets, I regularly provide in-home pet sitting for three different dog-owning families. My goal is to make pets feel comfortable, safe, and loved while maintaining their normal routines as closely as possible. I currently work part-time from home which gives me plenty of flexibility to care for your pets. I’m available on weekdays and on weekends, with flexibility for walks, drop-in visits, and overnight stays. About: I have 3 years of professional experience working in the animal industry and currently work at a veterinary hospital, where I provide hands-on care to a variety of pets every day. My experience has given me a strong understanding of animal behavior, health, safety, and the individual needs of different pets. I’m comfortable caring for dogs and cats of different ages, sizes, breeds, and temperaments, including pets who may require extra patience, medication, or specialized care. Working in a veterinary environment has also taught me how to recognize changes in behavior or health and respond appropriately when a pet may not be feeling their best. When caring for your pets, my priority is to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while maintaining their normal routines as closely as possible. I understand that every pet is different, and I’m happy to follow detailed instructions regarding feeding, walks, medications, exercise, and other specific needs. You can feel confident knowing that your pets are in the care of someone with professional animal-care experience who genuinely enjoys helping animals and treating every pet as if they were my own. Depending on my schedule I work from 7am - 3pm or 8am - 5pm, before or after my regular job I am free to hang out with your fuzzy guy! I care for pets in my clients’ homes by keeping them comfortable, safe, and as close to their normal routine as possible. I follow each pet’s individual care instructions for feeding, walks, playtime, medications, and any special needs. I also make sure they receive plenty of attention, affection, and enrichment while their owners are away. With 3 years of experience in the animal industry and my current work at a veterinary hospital, I’m comfortable caring for pets with a variety of personalities and needs. I pay close attention to changes in behavior, appetite, energy levels, or other signs that something may be wrong, and I communicate with the owner promptly if I have any concerns. I also treat my clients’ homes with the same respect and care I give their pets, keeping things clean and secure and providing updates so owners can have peace of mind while they’re away.

FAQs for House Sitting - Radiant

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of October 2026, there are 557 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Radiant. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Radiant walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Radiant maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Radiant choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .

sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Radiant. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
