“Aly and her family took great care of Winnie. They sent me a nightly check in picture of her and made sure she got her monthly preventative on time. I already asked about another weekend!”

“This is the first time I have used Rover and I'm thankful this app is out there. Jocelyn B. was wonderful. I have one dog that is easy and the other can be a handful. I was thankful that I could leave for the weekend and not worry.”

“Magda and Chris were amazing. So kind and caring with Mogi. Magda sent me regular check ins that showed how comfortable Mogi was with them. It was great knowing that Mogi was safe and happy during my weekend away.”

“Whitney was wonderful! She made our pups feel right at home and eased their sitter/ boarding anxiety by taking great care of them and sticking to their routine. She accommodated our last minute booking request and sent updates so our minds were completely at ease while our 2 large rescue dogs were in her care. I highly recommend Whitney to care for your pups!”

“Wonderful experience, I would highly recommend Katrina for watching your pups. My pups were very very happy and I appreciated the daily pictures and videos that she sent. The dogs were definately safe and content !”

“Cori and her family are absolutely amazing!! I knew from the first meeting that my little Henry would be well taken care of and loved! It was the first time I had ever left my Frenchie puppy so of course, I was nervous...Cori totally put me at ease and even sent videos and pictures over the course of his stay! That which was a very special touch and made me feel so much better. I will definitely be using Cori again!”

“Our 2 dogs were well taken of and tuckered out after we picked them up. Nathan was very communicative and easygoing. We will definitely use Nathan again - we trust him with our pets!”

“Svitlana was great with our Border Terrier, Kimi. She sent updates and photos daily. She walked Kimi in the neighborhood and played ball with her in the yard. Kimi came home happy, so we will hire Svitlana again!”

“Amanda was great with our puppy, Pampa. We got lots of updates on how she was doing and was very easy to communicate with. Her dog Theo was great with Pampa too, you could tell they had a lot of fun together over her stay. Would definitely recommend Amanda for anyone looking for a dog sitter! We’ll be sure to use her in the future as well.”

“Jesse was very friendly and asked great questions to make sure our dog would be well taken care of. He sent us pictures of our pup enjoying his stay which we really appreciated.”

“This was our first time leaving Pepe with a sitter and our first time using Rover, so we were a bit nervous, you never really know who you’re leaving your dog with. But Riley was exceptional from the very beginning. Even before I booked her, she helped me figure out how the app worked and made the whole process easy. During Pepe’s stay, she kept me 100% informed at all times with photos, videos, and messages. She was incredibly attentive, caring, and professional. I truly felt peace of mind knowing Pepe was in her hands. I have no doubt he was well cared for, and I would absolutely book her again. Thank you so much, Riley, for treating Pepe like your own dog, we truly appreciate it.”

“Meagan accepted my booking request to watch my dog very last minute due to a family emergency. She was available and willing to help, and she did a great job with him! She sent me pictures of him while I was gone, and he seemed very happy when we got there to pick him back up! He is totally worn out from all the playing, and he seems to have had a great time. Will definitely be using her again!”

“James is the best!! Our dog was so excited to stay with him a second time, and James even got him a little gift while we were gone for the holidays. He’s great with communication, and I always appreciate the photo updates. I highly recommend booking with James if you can!”
“All you need to know is that Angel’s ears perk up when we tell her she is going to stay with Scott and Sarah. They take very good care of her and ease the guilt of me being away because, to Angel, it’s a treat.”

“Dakota W. watched our 2 cats for a week and was diligent in caring for them. She kept us informed and left us detailed notes upon our return. We highly recommend her services and will rebook again!”

“Jocelyn was reliable and communicative. I will definitely seek her services again. This was my first time using Rover and she eased my reservations. I will never rely on a neighbor to take care of my cats again. One of my cats is slow to warm up to people, but by the second day there was photo proof that she was out from under the bed and happily engaged with Jocelyn. My heart was so happy, and it helped me enjoy my vacation worry free.”

“Victoria did a wonderful job caring for my two adult male cats and ~8 week old kitten for about 5 days. She was patient and has a keen attention to detail, especially with my helicopter-parent semi-neurotic novel of a instructions write-up. Overall, Victoria did an exceptional job caring for my furry children and I would seek her services again in a heartbeat. Thank you so much, Victoria!!! 🤗”

“Katie was very attentive, helpful, and took the absolute best care of our cats. She was very accommodating and asked any questions or concerns she may have which we really appreciated. We felt confident that our babies were well taken care of while we were gone. Would definitely recommend booking her.”

About: I’ve had many animals since I was a kid. Dogs, cats, small animals, farm animals you name it. Which makes me very experienced in all types of care, dogs especially. I’ve handled dogs of all kinds; senior, puppies, timid, energetic etc. I work a part time job right in the town of orange and I am not scheduled any longer than six hours at a time. Although my work schedule is indefinite meaning I don’t work the same days or hours every week. To find out my availability simply message me and i’ll be more than happy to get back to you! I do not offer boarding at my home as I already have two dogs of my own and it would be a stress on my family to have additional pets.

About: I started my journey with dogs 4 years ago and have not looked back enjoying every moment since. I am a certified trainer who loves improving the relationship between human and dog. We have a dog yard plus 5 acres. All dogs stay in our extra bedroom, which is now considered the dog room. I personally have two dogs, a cattle dog and a husky mix. They are both very social with all other dogs. We like to have a good time here but I keep a very safe environment for the dogs, no fighting or picking on one another. NO DOG IS TURNED AWAY. If you think your dog is aggressive, I can and will evaluate them so that if possible, we will get them socializing with their own kind and having a great time. Thanks, have a good day! I train dogs for a living so I stay at my house 7 days a week besides when I work with clients and those lessons tend to run about an hour but no more than 2 hours! I have 9 years experience running my own kennel and have two dogs with a large fence so there will be no boredom here! I do prefer to kennel dogs for the night but as we get comfortable with each other they will start to earn more freedom! Pet care is my full time job and i wouldn’t have it any other way, it has been a blessing. I hope I can help make your schedule less stressful! While you’re away, let your dogs play! I have a five foot fenced in dog yard specifically for dogs. We also have another 5 acres that we will walk all client dogs on during their stay with us.-
About: I’ve taken care of dogs of every kind and worked for a dog walking service in Charlottesville for a few years. I’ve worked with animals for about 7 years, I had four of my own dogs growing up and loved being around dogs. I love seeing all the cute pups out there. Happy to help with any needs; walking, sitting and drop ins! I’m currently a stay at home mom just looking for some extra outside/walking time. I love working with animals and seeing all my favorite dogs everyday! I’ve had experience dog sitting, can provide references. I love to meet before hand and get to know all of your dogs needs and how to properly care for them in the best way possible while your gone.
About: Animals definitely perceive my positive attitude, and people do too. I genuinely love making cats and dogs happy. I often talk to any animal quite a bit because I believe a calm tone of voice is good for them psychologically. Additionally, I have taken care of multiple dogs and cats throughout the years, working in kennel facilities and through ownership, and I understand what is required to keep them happy and healthy. I have a flexible schedule, with much time to ensure your pets get the exercise he or she needs, and the attention they deserve. They won't be lonely while you're away! Additionally, I can administer any medications necessary and follow any special dietary restrictions. Your cats and dogs are in good hands with me! I center taking care of my own animals around my daily schedule. I do my best to keep their regular feeding times ,and for my dogs walking times at expected hours. It can be difficult, but it wouldn't be fair for them to not know what to expect. So ultimately, I adjust my required needs around their schedule in terms of errands, and etcetera. I care for pets in a waythey are accustomed to; meaning regular schedules for feeding, walks and/or medication. If they are staying in my home, I would try to provide the most comfortable accommodations as possible while awaiting their people. But in a client's home, I would just coddle the pet, give them comfort, and again - keep them on the schedule they are accustomed to.

I think it is so important for you animals to get some energy out and have a great time playing outside or inside.

They were always well taken care of I’m basically free everyday of the week because all my classes are online so i’m able to care for your pets at anytime of the day I read the instructions that i’m given and go based off that. About: Hi! I’m Vanessa, and I’ve spent over a year working hands-on at a professional dog daycare and boarding facility here in Orange. That means I’m used to caring for dogs of all sizes, temperaments, and energy levels — from bouncy puppies to mellow seniors. I’m currently offering dog walks and drop-in visits only. Whether your pup needs a quick potty break, a structured walk, or just some loving company while you’re away, I bring the same reliability and safety focus I use at the daycare. I also love adding enrichment — things like sniff-walks, interactive games, or even “report card” style updates so you know how their day went. I’m currently working a part-time job and my hours differ week to week. Some days it’s 7 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. and other days it’ll be from 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m! Mondays are my busiest day of the week, so I can’t fit much into that day, but you can always still message me and I can see what I can do! In a client’s home, I always follow your pup’s normal routine so they feel comfortable and secure. For drop-in visits, that might include letting them out for a potty break, refreshing food and water, giving medications if needed, and spending quality time playing, cuddling, or just keeping them company. I make sure to leave everything tidy and send photo updates so you know how your pet is doing while you’re away. For dog walks, I focus on safety and fun. I use secure leashes/harnesses, keep a close eye on the environment, and adjust the pace to match your dog’s age and energy level — whether that’s a brisk stroll or a relaxed sniff walk. My goal is always to make sure your pet gets the exercise, attention, and care they deserve while giving you peace of mind.
About: As the daughter of a pet-sitting business owner and veterinary technician, I’ve been caring for animals from an early age. With over 10 years of experience working alongside my mother and in veterinary offices across Northern Virginia, I’ve learned that every pet is unique and deserves individualized care. Before moving back to Northern Virginia in 2023, I also owned a successful pet-sitting business in St. Croix, USVI. My own pets have taught me a lot as well—my pit mix, Bella, survived both a fighting-breed environment and Hurricane Maria, and my two rescue bassets struggled with separation anxiety, as well as our Moluccan cockatoo we raised from a nestling. Those experiences reinforced the importance of patience, empathy, and consistency. I’m a non-smoker, organized, and detail-oriented. I’m also available for last-minute needs and those holiday plans that sometimes run longer than expected. Above all, I take this work seriously and will care for your pet with the same love I give my own. 🐾🖤 Working mainly from home allows me the flexibility to plan my days around feeding, walks, playtime, and making sure pets feel safe, loved, and cared for. In my home or a client’s, I follow each pet’s usual routine for feeding, walks, play, and rest, while giving them plenty of love and attention to keep them comfortable. We can work on learning new tricks and reinforcing obedience training.

About: I bring a lifetime of hands-on experience with animals of all kinds—from cats and dogs to birds, bunnies, and even livestock. I grew up working alongside an equine veterinarian and have spent years collaborating closely with small animal vets, giving me a strong foundation in animal health and behavior. “Svitlana did great with Otto's nervous mom (me). She sent plenty of photos, updates, and reassurance. Otto felt comfortable at the house during his doggie daycare stay. He was relaxed enough to eat, sleep, and play. I rarely have anyone watch Otto, but we'll return if Svitlana is available when needed in the future.”

“Wonderful people to take care of your dog! Gunner was smiling in the photo update they sent me and then snored the whole way home. He was a happy pup and I was a happy mom!”

About: I’ve taken care of many animals in my life and I will continue to take care of animals for as long as I live. Getting to see dogs and cats every day has always been a joy but it’s been even better knowing I take care of people’s pets, knowing that people trust me with their furry friends is an honor. I’ve been in many different kinds of environments with dogs and cats outside of dog sitting. I have worked as a kennel assistant in two different vets, and realized that the veterinary field wasn’t the field I wanted to go down, I’ve worked in a doggy daycare where I go to play with dogs and see the looks on dogs faces when their owner picked up, I now work as a dog bather and have goals to become a dog groomer in the future. I will always have dog sitting open and available for years to come. Working with animals is so rewarding and I wouldn’t trade it for anything else. I currently am not working any jobs at the moment but I am a college student. My hours are much more flexible than they were in high school. I have class on Mondays and Wednesdays, and I also have band practice every day from 6-7:30. My weekends are free unless I have a game on Saturday or if I plan to go home on a weekend. We have a double harness leash for both of our dogs and we take them on daily walks. We do live in a townhome so we don’t have a fence but we do take them out and if you have a fence I will definitely be sure to give your furry friend the exercise they need!
About: I have 20+ years of pet experience with dogs, cats, horses, goats, pigs, chickens, and more. I am available for dog boarding in my home for multiple dogs. I am comfortable giving medications. I am a stay at home mom who homeschools my children. Most of our days are wide open and I can easily accommodate taking care of other pets. I will look after your pets like I do my own. About: • Most dogs like me (and i like most dogs :)) • All energy levels welcomed • I have raised 4 dogs of my own • Bachelors degree in Veterinary Bioscience • Worked in the veterinary field for the past 4 years • I’m responsible and good at time management • Even with a busy schedule, I will make sure your dog gets the attention he/she needs • No dog intimidates me ( all breeds and sizes are welcome) • I will always have your dogs best interest at heart I have 4 dogs of my own; 2 husky mixes, 1 pittie mix, and 1 beagle. My fiancé and I take care of them together, but much of the day to day things fall onto my plate. So, I have 4 very different dogs with 4 different needs, wants, and energy levels. On top of this, I also work in the veterinary field and have for the past couple years. Taking care of animals is something I literally do 24/7 and absolutely love it. With my personal pets, I make sure that all of them get love every day. Also, I try and get them some type of exercise. Living in Virginia, the weather is the biggest challenge. We go from negative temperature to triple digits within the year. In the times when the weather is being trying, I try and make sure my dogs get more mental exercise to combat the lesser physical exercise. With all that said, I would do the same with a clients pet. I would treat them as my own and give them the best quality care while they are with me.

“I was so fortunate to find Melissa on Rover. She has been caring for my dog Max for nearly 2 months, and has been terrific. Given her strong experience I feel very comfortable leaving Max in her care. She also sends the cutest Rover cards! Thanks, Melissa!”

About: I have loved dogs since I was a kid! I recently have been working as a nanny and that has involved light care for pets as well, my current duties are walking the two dogs and feeding them treats and filling water bowls. I am very loving and caring. My previous job involved feeding and letting the pup out in the back yard to play and to help keep track of certain habits due to the dog having food allergies. I am so fond of animals as a whole that my future goal is to buy a house with lots of land and do free lance dog boarding! I would love to help your family with your pet’s needs! Hope to work with you soon!
About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats of all ages and provided medications when needed including pills, eye drops, and shots! I also am flexible to what your pet’s routine already is! I’m home for summers from college (Go Dukes) and I’ve always loved animals, so pet-sitting is my only job over this time! I’m available all days throughout the week! When you’re vacationing in the summer I will look after your pets and give you peace of mind with pictures I take of them and I always leave your house looking like I was never even there!
About: I’ve been caring for pets for over 7 years, and it’s something I genuinely love. I have experience with dogs of all sizes from energetic puppies to senior dogs who need extra care and attention. I treat every pet like family and always make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Pet care is a regular and rewarding part of my weekly routine. I’m calm, dependable, and attentive to each pet’s needs making sure they get the right balance of exercise, playtime, and rest throughout the day. Pets stay in a clean, cozy, and pet-friendly space with plenty of room to relax or play, including a fully fenced yard where they can safely explore and enjoy the outdoors. There’s always someone home even if I need to step out briefly, my mom grandma or my boyfriend, who are both equally experienced and caring with pets, are always around to help. I usually introduce them during meet and greets so everyone feels comfortable and at ease
About: Dogs have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up with dogs on a farm, apartment, townhouse, etc. I have experience with many different personalities, energy levels, and breed needs I currently have two dogs of my own, a great pyrenees and a golden retriever. I’ve also worked at a veterinary clinic as a vet tech, gaining additional experiences with animal care, health needs, and proper handling. I beleive no dog should be judged by their breed or put under a general label. I focus on their body language and individual personalities, while still addressing breed needs. I currently am working 32-40 hours a week that gives me a certain level of flexibility to match your schedule. I receive my schedule every Saturday, two weeks posted at a time. I will give full transparency if there are any schedule conflicts. I understand how important it is to feel comfortable leaving your pet in someone else’s care, they’re your family! My goal is to always make sure both you and your pet few safe, supported, and at ease while you’re away. I do my best to follow your pet’s routing exactly the way you do at home, adjusting to whatever care instructions you prefer. I am also more than happy to provide updates as often as you’d life, whether that’s daily or hourly check-ins, photos, or videos so you can see how your pet is doing. I pay close attention to your pet’s behavior, health, and surroundings, making sure they’re safe and comfortable both inside the home and in outdoor spaces. I keep information on local vets and emergency clinics on my phone. I treat every pet and home with the same care and respect I would my own!

“All you need to know is that Angel’s ears perk up when we tell her she is going to stay with Scott and Sarah. They take very good care of her and ease the guilt of me being away because, to Angel, it’s a treat.”

“Our two small dogs stayed Memorial Day weekend. We received updates and pictures letting us know they were doing ok. It was the firs time we'd left our babies with anyone in over two years, so we were nervous. We appreciated the peace of mind, the updates, and knowing our babies were in good hands. Thank you!”

“Our dog connected with Heather immediately! It was clear from the photos and messages that our dog was enjoying her time with Heather and extremely comfortable in her home. Heather is personable and professional, and we would book her again to care for our dog.”

“Our doodle had a great visit with Christine and Charles. We received regular updates and pictures on how everything was going. Their location & setup provides everything a pet needs. Looking forward to using their services in the future.”

“We have used Charissa many times for our two dogs. We love the attention that she gives each of her boarders and the outside time that they get each day. When we turn the corner onto Charissa’s street, our dogs automatically start wagging their tails in the car (even our nervous dog!) It’s a relief to see them be excited to go spend a week with Charissa and other dog friends. Depending on where you live, it might be a longer drive to get out to her location, but for us it is so worth it, especially for longer trips! Your pet will certainly get more outside time and individualized attention staying with Charissa than they would at a local kennel. Highly recommended!”

“What a blessing to have Heather and her family as our dog sitter! The property is magical and a perfect set up. Thank you so much for taking great care of our sweet girl Summer! The Friel Family”
