About: Pets love me! It means they trust me, and if they do - you can too! I also find approaches to any pets depending on their personality. I am currently looking for a job as I just moved to Oahu . That’s why I really need some extra cash and thought Rover will work best for me. So I have a very flexible schedule. And if you’re hiring - let me know 🫣😬 I give them attention, play with them and pat them. So they feel very much loved and I also this way receive love from them :)
“Ky was great! She sent me pictures almost every day and let me know if anything out of the blue happened! Im an overprotective parent and my dog is super laid back expect for outside were he has issues with other dogs and people. She was willing to do a walk through with me so I could show her how to deal with my extra pully dog. My puppy was very happy with his new friend and i would recommend using ky for your animal needs! She stays on schedule and makes sure your house is clean when she leaves it!”

About: I have grown up with dogs and had them in and out of my life. I am pretty experienced with young puppies and adult dogs. Although I am not experienced with senior care or giving medication. I am currently a part time college student that will be taking classes online. I have an incredibly flexible schedule. I will do my best to work with so that it works out for everyone. I cannot board any animals in my home however I would be happy to spend the night with your furry family members in your home. I take pet safety very serious and I’ll care for your pet like they’re my own pet. I’ll also follow any instructions, rules and dietary needs that you have for your pet. Further more I won’t leave your pet unsupervised unless in a safe or secure place and with your knowledge and permission.
“Heidi took amazing care of our dog and was great with communication and pictures. She even was so sweet to get him a new ball! It was such a relief knowing that our pup was happy and in good hands while we were gone.”

About: Dogs have always been a big part of my life. I grew up with a Maltese who was my best friend, and since then I've been the go to dog sitter for friends and family. I've cared for dogs of all sizes and personalities, including Huskies, Border Collies, Poodles, Shiba Inus, and many more. I genuinely love spending time with dogs and tend to treat them like my own kids. Whether it's walks, playtime, feeding, cuddles, or keeping them company while you're away, I'll make sure your pup feels safe, happy, and loved. I work from home so I'm pretty flexible. The earlier we communicate the more flexibility I have. Typically more available in the afternoons and evenings I know leaving your dog with someone else can feel a little nerve wracking, so I'll do my best to make it easy for both you and your pup! Whether I'm stopping by for a visit, taking them on a walk, or staying overnight, I'll follow their usual routine and give them plenty of attention, playtime, and care. I'll also keep you updated with photos and messages, so you can relax knowing your dog is safe, happy, and getting lots of love while you're away.
“Ashley was great with our 4 month and 8 year old Goldendoodles while house sitting for us and even did so on short notice. Managing a puppy is never easy and she did a wonderful job. We came home to a clean house and felt the house was safe with Ashley staying in it. She kept us up to date with great photos while we were away too. Highly recommend Ashley for any dog walking or other sitting services !”

“Sarah is good with dogs and easy to communicate with. Happy to have had Sarah check in on my pup when I was out for most of the day. Yeti was walked and fed with her medication as though I had been there myself.”

“We booked Isabella for a house sit and to watch our dogs while we were gone, and she did an incredible job. She was very easy to get ahold of and sent us lots of pics and updates. She also cleaned our home and left it better than when we left it! Our dogs were happy and fully taken care of. I felt so at peace knowing that she was there and it made our vacation all the more enjoyable. Highly recommend!”

Personally have an almost 3 year old Aussie who is very high energy and loves long walks and outdoor adventures! Work in remote marketing from home full time, just looking for some extra part time work. Available days and nights for short visits or longer activities/ overnight care I take pride in my attention to detail when it comes to the safety and wellness of furry friends as well as the spaces they spend their time in.
About: I’ve always had an interest with animals. Growing up my parents never wanted pets in fear that we ‘wouldn’t take care of it’ but I assured that every time I would and when they finally listened that’s what I did. I always took care of our dog. Trained him, feed him, took him out, and cleaned up after him and even payed for veterinary visits like it was my only purpose. It comes very naturally it’s apart of my daily routine. I would be able to take care of your pet on days I’m off all day and from morning to early afternoon while working. I would definitely ask about your pet and make sure to get to know your pet best in order to care for them the best I can. I would make sure they’re comfortable and I am able to help them with what they need. Playtime, walks, food, snacks, etc.
“We used Veronica to house sit and to watch our cat and dog. Veronica communicate with us daily about our animals and sent us pictures. She was super friendly and listened to all of our needs in taking care of our animals. I would recommend Veronica and definitely will be using her again to watch our animals.”
“By far one of the best! We have a special needs Bull Terrier that Kristyn handled with ease. We were so lucky to find her. She is just an overall good hearted person with a calm personality to keep our four babies safe. Highly recommend!!”

“After returning home, we could tell both our doggies really took to Alexis and enjoyed their time with her! We also appreciated the nice pictures that she sent us while we were gone.”

“Liz is the best dog sitter!! Every time we go out of town we trust her to stay with our pups. She sends plenty of updates, pics, and videos to let us know how the doggies are doing. She’s the best!”

About: I have been blessed to have grown up with dogs in my household so being with them is like being with family. For 17years I got to learn common behaviors, body language, and how to do basic training with them. I get along well with all animals, but I love being with dogs the most. I am very reliable and believe communication is key, it's very important in providing the best care as possible. I am available most days but I just need a heads up so I can plan and prepare for your pet. I can give full care to your pets such as feeding, walking, bathing and even some much needed belly scratches. I am looking forward to meeting you and your pet! Mahalo for your consideration. I am a home caregiver and have short hours throughout the week usually 8am-12pm and off for the rest of the day. Weekends are completely open and I can be with your pet. I do not have a yard, but we often get out of the house and go to the park or to a nearby beach to let out some energy. I work 8-12pm and off for the rest of the day. So fitting in a drop in or a walk is perfect! So getting in your pets daily walk while you’re away at work fits perfectly with my schedule. I have pet seat belts when going for car rides to the beach or to a hike to keep them safe while transporting. Keeping all gates and doors closed while in the home will avoid any quick get aways.
“Brookette was great to book with! My dog loved her and I never once worried about him. She provided lots of pictures and updates. Will definitely book with her again!”

“Alexy was very personable and easy to work with. She not only took care of Charlie (our African Grey parrot) but was willing to fill our pool and water when necessary. Charlie was happy with the attention she received and I would be most happy to have her again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Punaluu
We had an amazing experience with Ky and highly recommend her! From the very beginning, she made us feel completely at ease. During our meet and greet, she asked thoughtful questions about Apollo and Harper's routines, personalities, preferences, and care. It was clear she genuinely wanted to get to know them and make sure she could provide the best possible care, which gave us so much confidence before we left. While we were away, she took wonderful care of Apollo and Harper, treating them with so much love, attention, and patience. We knew they were in great hands, and it gave us real peace of mind to be able to enjoy our trip without worrying. She also took excellent care of our home. We came back to a spotless house, and everything was exactly as we had left it. It's obvious she is responsible, trustworthy, and takes pride in caring for both pets and homes. We're so grateful for everything she did for Apollo and Harper and wouldn't hesitate to book with her again. If you're looking for someone who is caring, dependable, and truly goes above and beyond, we wholeheartedly recommend her!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 1,022 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Punaluu. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Punaluu walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Punaluu maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Punaluu choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Punaluu. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
