About: I've taken care of dogs & cats my whole life. 30 + years. I currently have a 8 yr old Scottish terrier who gets lots of walks, love, attention & exercise daily. Family & Friends always rely on me to take care of their fur babies! I am on the LOWER SIDE OF COST, simply because I enjoy caring for dogs & cats. I don't think it should be that EXPENSIVE! I have been in the same boat before with my fur baby with needing care from a stranger. Your dog or cat will be well taken care of and loved in my hands ! I have repeat clients that can attest to my high level of care for their pets on here and another networking pet care source. I have lots of flexibility for the Summer and times. It is has me unavailable you can always send a request and I can work to make an adjustment! Please reach out for any time or day and I can make an accommodation 🙏 My schedule is flexible for dog care/ drop ins rain or shine ! I am on the lower side of cost simply because I enjoy caring for dogs and don't think it should be that expensive. I have been in the same boat with my fur baby before. I can come morning & late afternoon/ evening during the week. I can of course make time adjustments to accommodate your Pet's need. Weekends I have more open time availability. I like to make sure a pet gets a well timed lengthy walk with lots of attention for their walk/drop in. I treat any dog like my own. Lots of TLC & attention. I like to establish trust with the dog and build off that ! I treat every pet with extreme love, safety & care. I have repeat clients on another app as well that are very happy with my care/

“Katherine was a wonderful house sitter for Bondi. He looked fresh, relaxed, and happy when we returned, which clearly reflected the excellent care she provided. She also regularly shared photos and updates about the time she spent with Bondi, which gave us great peace of mind. We truly appreciate her genuine care and would be happy to recommend her.”

“This is our second time having Lianna dog and cat sit. She was incredibly thoughtful and checked in regularly throughout our trip, including checking about medication for our dog. We loved getting the photos of our pets while away; it makes leaving a bit easier knowing we can count on Lianna to keep them company.”

“We booked our second house sitting experience with Brian, and he was fantastic again! He even took our senior puppy to her vet appointment, as we couldn't make it home in time. Thank you Brian for taking such great care of our girl.”

“Anna is absolutely fantastic! We are so grateful to have her watching Paisley - she is so good with her and appreciates all her quirks. She took great care of her, was communicative and easy to reach, sent pictures and gave Paisley lots of love while we weren’t home to do it ourselves. Thank you so much for taking such good care of her!!!”

“Jessica was a wonderful caretaker for our dog! She communicated with us throughout the weekend, keeping us up to date. She managed his dog reactivity, keeping him and others safe. I would recommend Jessica to anyone who has a dog with a “big personality” that needs a strong but gentle hand to manage it. 😃”

“This was Nina’s first time watching my dog Orla. She arrived right on time and immediately offered to help me with her since I was getting ready to go to a doctor’s appointment and running a little late.. She took Orla for a nice walk and sent me several pictures during her stay. Orla was very comfortable with Nina. I will definitely ask her to come back again.”

“We had a great experience! She took wonderful care of our corgi, Jolyne, and our home while we were away. She sent lots of detailed updates, pictures, and videos, which we really appreciated and made us feel totally at ease. She also went above and beyond by bringing in our mail and taking care of the trash cans. We’d absolutely book with her again!”

“Our senior dog is special needs and has pretty extreme separation anxiety. Natasha stayed with her overnight. We received a detailed update on our girl, including an hour by hour account of how she didn’t sleep bc of her anxiety and how Natasha got up with her several times through the night to walk her and comfort her. I can’t say enough about Natasha’s kindness and patience toward our special needs girl.”

“Rachelle is the best. She stays at our home with our dog Owen. It’s relieving to know he’s in good care when we are out of town and I can enjoy vacation instead of worrying. Highly recommend Rachelle!”

“Megan did such a great job with our 3 dogs and cat. We got daily pictures and updates. Our puppy ended up a little under the weather and Megan was quick to respond and kept us updated. It was so nice to have some piece of mind while we were away, knowing our pets and home were being cared for.”

“Repeat customer, Stephanie (Net) is the best and goes above and beyond. We have a bunch of pets including a senior dog and a high energy middle age pup (cats, a lizard, oh my!) and she’s great with everyone. Highly recommend!”

“Shane was so great with our two dogs. One needed his medication with his food and Shane followed through perfectly. He gave them plenty of walks and lots of attention! He sent us pictures and kept us in the loop while we were away. It was our first experience with rover and it was excellent!”

“We had a wonderful experience with Kathryn and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and attentive pet sitter. Kathryn stayed in our home for three nights while caring for our 9-month-old puppy, Steele. Steele is still young and requires a good amount of structure and attention—she can only be crated for up to four hours at a time and eats three meals a day. Kathryn handled all of this seamlessly and kept Steele on her routine without any issues. What we especially appreciated was Kathryn’s care during a slightly more challenging time—Steele was just finishing her heat cycle, and Kathryn managed everything with professionalism and ease. It gave us real peace of mind knowing Steele was in such capable hands. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for pup and a house that was just as we left it. Kathryn clearly cares about the animals she looks after and treats them like her own. We would gladly book Kathryn again and highly recommend her to others!”

About: Dogs have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve cared for all kinds of breeds, from tiny Chihuahuas to giant Newfoundlands, and have experience with puppies as young as 3 weeks old as well as senior dogs up to 14 years old. I’m comfortable with dogs of all temperaments, energy levels, and care needs. Whether your pup loves long walks, playtime, learning basic commands, or prefers a slower pace, I’ll make sure they get plenty of attention, exercise, and care. I have experience with basic training and enjoy helping reinforce good habits and routines in a positive way. Every dog has their own personality, so I like to take the time to get to know what makes them feel coming. My goal is to provide dependable care while giving pet parents peace of mind. At the end of the day, our pets are family, and I’ll treat yours like they’re part of mine. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine, having pets myself, and I make it a priority to be dependable and punctual. I understand how important consistency is for pets, so I do my best to maintain their normal schedule, whether that means walks, feeding times, play sessions, or drop in visits. I enjoy staying active and spending time with animals, making pet care something I genuinely look forward to each day. Safety is a top priority for me, especially during walks. I take the time to properly understand each pet’s behavior, triggers, and comfort level before heading out, and I stay attentive to their surroundings at all times to ensure they are secure and well managed. I like to follow key safety precautions like using properly fitted leashes and harnesses, avoiding high-traffic or overstimulating areas when needed, checking gates and doors carefully, and always keeping a secure hold on pets when entering or exiting spaces. I also focus on building trust with each pet by moving at their pace, using calm and consistent body language, and allowing them to become comfortable with me before expecting too much interaction. I pay attention to their signals and respect their boundaries, which helps create a sense of safety and reliability. Over time, this helps pets feel more at ease with me, making walks and in home care smoother and more comfortable for them.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 548 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Princetown. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Princetown walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Princetown maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Princetown choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
