“Jovonni is the best. She cares for my dogs as if they are her own. I have one dog that gets very scared when I’m gone and she is so patient with him. Can’t thank or praise her enough!”

“We had the best experience with Mendora! We were gone for 10 days on vacation and everyday our dogs were looked after and cared for without worry. She showed up on time every time to feed, let our dogs out, and spend time with them. She kept us updated with messages and pictures of our pups daily. One of our dogs was on an antibiotic while in Mendora’s care and she made sure our pup didn’t miss a single pill. Thank you for everything we really appreciate all you did for us and our pups. We will 100% recommend and use again!”

“Marcela was absolutely amazing! She stayed in my home with my pups and everything went perfect. All of my animals loved her, and they were happy and healthy upon return. It sounds like they got all the walks and cozy time they could need! All of my instructions were followed and Marcela was prompt in response time, and kept me updated with pictures of the animals. I would definitely recommend and work with Marcela again.”

“Samantha was absolutely wonderful looking after my dog, Micha. She was incredibly attentive and took her on long walks, which Micha absolutely loved. She also provided plenty of care, affection, and attention every single time she came to the house to pick her up. It gave me complete peace of mind knowing Micha was in such great hands. I will definitely use her services again!”

“I highly recommend this pet sitter and trainer. With a college education in canine and feline care, she provides much more than basic pet sitting. Every interaction is used to encourage good behavior and discourage unwanted habits. Dog walks become valuable training opportunities, and drop-in visits include both mental and physical enrichment. Her knowledge, professionalism, and dedication help create a positive, structured environment where pets can thrive.”

“I can’t begin to tell you how much I loved having Jayna stay in my home and take care of my senior dog Taylor! She was wonderful. He was getting towards the end of his life (18years) and it was a situation that she handled superbly with a loving heart and compassion for a dog she just met. Amazing. She sent photos everyday, spoon fed him, made him comfortable in all ways…and did everything I asked and more. What a wonderful human being. Couldn’t have asked for a better caregiver!!!! Thanks Jayna from the bottom of my heart. Taylor sends his love as well. ✨✨✨❤️”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Dayana did an outstanding job with Boomer and Nova, especially during the challenging time right before I flew out of the country. When Boomer injured himself, she cared for him meticulously, administering all his medications as if he were her own. She kept me updated with pictures and took excellent care of the house, leaving it even better than I did. I highly recommend her for pet sitting and will definitely be using her services again in the future.”

“Alana was wonderful with our baby Kaya. She sent photos, updates and was quick to answer any questions we had. She was able to give our dog her medicine, and took her for her regular walks. We came home to a spotless home, and a happy dog. We look forward to having Alana come back soon, without hesitation. Thank you Alana!”

“Stephanie was absolutely amazing! She accepted my Rover booking on very short notice, just a few days before the service, which immediately gave me so much relief. From the start, she was communicative, professional, trustworthy, and incredibly reliable. She took such great care of my pups and kept me updated with regular messages and photos, which made me feel completely at ease while I was away. My pups were happy, relaxed, and clearly very well cared for when I returned home. It was obvious they felt comfortable with her, and they warmed up to her right away — which says everything. Not only were my dogs happy, but my home was also left very tidy and well cared for. Stephanie truly went above and beyond, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, dependable, and attentive sitter. I would absolutely book with her again!”

“Sophia did a great job taking care of our crew once again! We were completely out of cell range for the entire trip and really appreciate being able to rely on Sophia to keep our pets and home in great shape.”

About: I’ve cared for a large variety of pets: -sassy old Maltese who will tell you what she wants -Greyhound who wants a long walk and then to chill on the couch -Goldendoodle puppy who wants to play fetch 24/7 -Cats who I only see in glimpses -Cat who wants me to cuddle it all day I currently teach music classes twice a week so I’m very flexible to adapt to your pet’s needs! Let me know how I can best support their schedule Able to take dogs or enriching walks or have indoor play breaks. Depending on what your dog needs I can provide it! Company, exercise, enrichment, cuddles!
About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life, and caring for them has always come naturally to me. From fostering neonatal puppies and kittens that needed bottle feeding, to helping senior pets feel comfortable and loved. I’ve handled it all with patience and compassion. Over the years, I’ve fostered dogs, cats, birds , and even a guinea pig! Each one teaching me something new about love and responsibility. Neighbors, friends, and family have always trusted me to walk, feed, bathe, and care for their pets as if they were my own. I don’t just provide care, I provide comfort, affection, and attention to detail so every animal feels safe, happy, and loved. Your pets deserve someone who will treat them like family, and that’s exactly what I’ll do. 🐾❤️ Since I work from home, I’m able to spend all day with my pets and give them plenty of attention. I start the mornings with potty breaks and breakfast, then go for a nice midday walk around 1–3pm. In the evenings, I set aside time for play and dinner around 6pm. I have flexibility throughout the day to take dogs on walks, to the park, or just enjoy some cuddle time at home. 🐾 I live in a house with a big backyard where dogs can safely play and get fresh air while I supervise. I also make sure to take pets on daily walks for exercise and stimulation. In my home, pets get plenty of love, attention, and playtime with my own animals. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I always follow their routine closely , whether that’s feeding, walking, or crate training. So their pet feels comfortable and cared for just like they would with their owners. ☺️
“Denys was great with baloo I was able to see at times they got along well and he had plenty of good walks, I came back from vacation and baloo looks in great condition and also well fed...denys followed our instructions well and was very respectful of the house environment ,I highly recommend denys to anyone who wants excellent care of their pets...again thank you Denys and rover for this great experience!”

Friends & family have trusted me to sit, walk, feed, care for this whole time:) Im also a Photographer so I can take amazing photos of your pet! Pet care fits into to my schedule seamlessly, besides school and work, I always make time to spend time with your furry friends and will always make sure it’s a good time! I treat everyone’s home like mines but not like mines. I make sure the place is exactly how it was, make sure the pet is safe, but also keep the place seem like no one even came!
About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 14 years old. I have petsitted a few times in Nicaragua, but the service was never as popular. I currently have a ten year old cocker spaniel named Leia, who you can see in my picture. I’m a proud dog friend and an aspiring cat friend as I haven’t had much experience with cats. However, I love animals (as long as they are not insects). I am one to pay close attention to pet body language, and I will make sure to provide the most comfort and love to your furbaby 💕 I’m currently working part-time so I will be super happy to fit any pet care into my schedule. I’m very punctual will petsit for you on friday and weekends, when you usually want to go out and enjoy human time ✨ I’m happy to provide any tools and help you acquire items for your pet. If you need me to pet-shop too, I will! I also have a car of my own, so there is no end to dog parks we can visit. I will go and stay at your home as much as you need in order to care for your pet. Everybody at home adores pets.
“Attentive, trustworthy miracle-worker! I needed a sitter last minute and Kelsey responded right away. She brings her dog with her and was very upfront about that. She was also very thoughtful about ensuring the dogs met in a way that was the least stressful for them (and me!). She arrived early to spend time with Merlin and chat with me, which was much appreciated. I felt completely comfortable with her taking care of Merlin and being in my home. She was very kind and clearly very attentive to Merlin, even playing bird songs to relax and distract him. He has separation anxiety and normally howls, barks, and paces when I leave. He had no trouble with Kelsey though and seemed very relaxed when I got home. It was amazing! I would absolutely recommend her.”

“Jess has been our dog/house sitter since last year, and we are so happy to have found her. She is fantastic. This last trip we thought she might not be available, but she adjusted her schedule and made it work, which we truly appreciated. The photos and videos she sends show just how much she loves our baby. She always leaves our home spotless, and we feel so grateful to have such a kind and reliable sitter. 12 out of 10, would absolutely recommend.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Princeton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Princeton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Princeton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Princeton. On Rover:
- 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
