“Gabby is amazing! She kept Lux over Easter and did an Easter Egg Hunt and had an Easter Basket made for her. Lux had a wonderful time and absolutely loved staying with Gabby! 100/10 would recommend!”

“We have been so happy with Tracy and her level of care for our toy poodle. Tracy and her kids treated our dog like she was family. I know our dog felt right at home while we were gone. I received multiple updates and pictures while we were away. We’ve booked with her twice now and will continue to use her for the future.”

“Carol was great with Apollo…he warmed up to her and did not have any problems. She sent pictures and comments about his daily interaction with her. I will not hesitate to call upon her again in the future.”

About: I’ve been caring for animals from a very young age, growing up on a farm where tending to a wide variety of animals was part of my everyday life. That experience gave me a strong understanding of animal behavior, responsibility, and the importance of consistent, attentive care. Over the years, I’ve become comfortable working with dogs of all ages and needs—from energetic puppies who require patience and structure, to senior dogs who benefit from a gentler, more attentive approach. I also have experience caring for dogs with medical needs and am confident in following detailed care instructions, including administering medications when needed. I’m especially mindful with anxious or shy dogs, taking the time to build trust and create a calm, reassuring environment so they feel safe and secure. I am currently working full-time less than 5 minutes from home. I feed my dogs and let them out around 7:00 am before work. My husband is home with our dogs until 2:00 pm before he leaves for work. I arrive home around 5:00 pm and I spend most of my evening in the backyard if possible. I have a fenced in yard and a basket full of toys. I have 2 dogs of my own that enjoy playing with others, so your pet is sure to be in good company.
“You simply cannot do better than Viola. My 10 year old toy poodle is hard to leave because of her separation anxiety. Viola won her over, spoiled her and sent me updates that allowed me to enjoy my four day trip. You can see her love for dogs in everything she does. My Sassy didn’t even stop eating which had been an issue. I was more than satisfied. ISO happy I found this lovely lady.”

“This was Gumbo’s second stay with Nicholas and it won’t be the last! Thankful to have Nicholas keep Gumbo when we are out of town. We don’t have to worry about Gumbo at all because we know he’s being cared for!”

“Jason Ryan has been wonderful! He was able to accommodate care for my micro sized dog, who can be quite a handful, last minute. He also has sent lots of pictures and kept in touch. I would recommend him for any of your pet’s needs. Thank you, Jason Ryan!”

“Savannah is the best. She really takes great care of my dog. She’s everything to me. My dog’s always so happy when she comes home and that means a lot to me I couldn’t ask for a better sitter or someone to leave my dog with when I’m away, she is by far the best in my eyes”

“Johanna and her family took excellent care of my dog, Beanie! She provided updates throughout my trip so I could see how well Beanie was doing. I felt almost guilty when I picked Beanie up, because it was so obvious that she’d developed a real bond with Johanna and her dogs. I highly recommend Johanna as a sitter. She is caring and communicative, and your furry family member will have a wonderful time!”

“Emery was amazing! Our older dog needed medication and some extra special care, and it was also our first time away from our younger puppy. She kept us updated throughout the stay, and we felt completely confident that both dogs were in great hands.”

“We went on vacation for 4 days and we left our fur babies with Jena. She sent us an update and pictures daily. Anytime we checked in on them she was very primped to respond. I am vey satisfied with with her and will definitely be using her again in the future. Thank you Jena for taking care of our fur babies.”
“Elise was very professional yet warm and kind. I think our lab may have not wanted to come back home. I will definitely recommend Elise to anyone looking to get their best friend back in better condition than they were left. Will use here again in the future if she is available.”

“Shabba had a great time with Marqita! I loved the daily updates and he was in great spirits and health when I picked him up. Would definitely recommend her and would be happy to have Shabba stay with her again.”

Lauren, Cody and family are absolutely amazing! Our pup stayed with them for 6 nights. Lauren sent pictures to us every day and gave us updates on Diesel. He was just as comfortable as he would have been home. We are so grateful for them. My mind and heart was completely at ease the entire time. They are amazing and would definitely recommend them to everyone. We will definitely request to re-book again! Thanks again!

Daylen took the best care of our puppy and kept us informed daily on how he was doing. She sent pictures and videos, and we could tell he was having the best time. We were worried he wouldn’t want to come home. We will definitely be using her again as he has found his home away from home!

Michael is my go-to dog sitter. He is a wonderful caretaker. He sends pictures and videos with his regular updates. My dog gets so excited whenever he sees Michael. It is such an assurance to know that our sweet boy is getting so much love and such great care while we are away. I HIGHLY recommend Michael. I'm sure that you will be as happy with him as we have been.
Heather and her family were amazing! I felt very comfortable leaving Loki in their hands, and I really liked how friendly and upbeat Heather is. It looked like a wonderful, wholesome environment for a dog. This sitter is actually one of my favorites now, and I would definitely book again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in LA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
