“This was our first time using Rover, and I am so happy we found Ellen! Our dogs were well taken care of while we were gone, and Ellen provided multiple updates and photos throughout the day giving us full reassurance that our pups were in great hands.”

About: I’ve always loved animals and enjoy spending time caring for pets. I’m responsible, patient, and attentive to each pet’s individual needs. I understand how important it is to feel comfortable leaving your pets with someone you trust, and I’ll make sure they receive plenty of care, attention, playtime, and love while you’re away. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to spend plenty of time caring for and playing with your pets. I’m available for pet care on weekends and during my weekday availability. I want every pet in my care to feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I’ll make sure they have plenty of attention, playtime, and supervision while also following their usual routines and any instructions you provide.
About: Hi I’m skye I love dogs especially little dogs and puppies. I’ve been watching dogs for friends not only in my home but house sitting as well so I’m very trust worthy. Every time I see a stray I can’t help rescuing every chance I get. If you want to bring your dogs toys or crate your more then welcome. If you have strict rules for your pet please let me know or leave a list for me. If you want your dog being watched by a real dog lover I’m definitely the one to use. I watch dogs while my daughter is in school, typically after she is in bed so about 9am-9pm. I'm a stay at home mom, so this is a side job for me. I usually like to take your dog out/take care of your pets the way you would and as close to the same schedule as possible.
“Michaela was amazing! She took such good care of our fur babies. She communicated very well and sent many updates. The house was even cleaner than when I left it. I would recommend Michaela to any friend.”

“Zoe was great! Lots of communication and she took great care of our pups. She was even willing to run back to our house to save a package from the rain for me when it came later than expected!”

About: As a lifelong animal lover, I bring years of experience caring for both energetic puppies and senior pets. My last two dogs lived to the wonderful ages of 15 and 16, giving me invaluable insight into every stage of a pet’s life. Working from home allows me to provide constant attention, whether it’s for walks, potty breaks, or just companionship. I’m also highly organized and reliable, with reminders set to ensure medications or special care needs are never missed. Your pet will be in loving, experienced hands My flexible schedule is perfect for providing attentive and consistent care. Since I work from home, I’m available throughout the day and night for walks, potty breaks, playtime, and cuddles. This also means your pet won’t be left alone for long periods and will always have someone nearby for comfort and supervision. I can easily adapt to your pet’s routine, ensuring they feel secure and well cared for while you’re away. I understand how important it is to feel confident that your pet is in safe and caring hands. I prioritize your pet’s well-being by maintaining a secure environment, by keeping doors and gates locked, monitoring them during walks, or ensuring they stick to their normal routine as best as I can. Building trust with both you and your pet is my top priority, so you can rest assured knowing they’ll be treated with the same love and respect as my own.
About: I have hands-on experience caring for dogs through my work as a pet bather and trainee, where I bathed, groomed, and safely handled dogs of different sizes and temperaments. I also have experience caring for my own dog and recently fostered a dog for a week. I’m comfortable with feeding, walking, bathing, playtime, basic routines, and giving pets patience and attention. I understand that every pet has different needs and personalities, so I focus on keeping them comfortable, safe, and cared for. I currently have a flexible schedule and can dedicate plenty of time to caring for pets. I’m available for walks, drop-in visits, and boarding depending on the day and service needed. I’m able to give pets consistent attention, playtime, exercise, feeding, and companionship rather than simply stopping by and leaving. I have experience caring for my own dog and fostering a dog for a week. I follow each pet parent’s instructions carefully and make sure pets are supervised, secure, and treated with patience and care.
“Carolina was wonderful and really gave us peace of mind during our trip. She was excellent at communicating and giving updates to us and also left our home clean. She will definitely be rebooked by us in the future!”

About: I’ve always owned a dog since being a young girl. I have raised puppies, owned ferrets, house watched birds, and have my very own doggo that I consider my own child (she’s got her own closet of clothes and is spoiled beyond belief). Our daily walk includes her breathing in fresh air as I rollerblade and then a round about walk/run to keep her in shape. I am a teacher so I work Monday-Friday but am free weekends. After school I dedicate my time to my fur baby. Lots of love and pets to give after a busy work day. Summer is neigh so I will be home 24/7 to give extra snuggles and the best dog vacation EVER for your pupper (or feline friend). I have a fenced in yard and a baby gate to allow for play in the living room and kitchen area. Doggos are allowed on furniture and plenty of dog beds and toys to play with. Owners are always allowed to bring a crate or any dog items to help your pupper feel more comfortable and acclimated.
About: At the young age of 10 I started gaining experience in dog sitting, daycare, and taking animals on walks. I know the importance of communicating with pet parents as well my experience of ensuring animal safety, going to the vet, and specific diets. My sister has a pet business and I worked with her for a long time to gain more knowledge and experience hands on. I have a lot of experience with different sizes and breeds of dogs including grooming or pet-handling. Currently I am in school for drone operations and have a good amount of time to watch, love on, and enjoy taking care of your fur baby💗 For my clients no matter the service I provide photo and video updates, knowing how it feels to leave my furbaby with another person than me or my fiancé. I also keep my phone nearby so that I am able to quickly respond to any text or calls I may receive.
About: I have seven years of experience caring for puppies and adult dogs, and I truly enjoy getting to know each pet’s unique personality and needs. I’m comfortable with everything from playful puppies to older dogs who prefer a slower pace. I provide patient, attentive, and loving care while making sure every dog feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for. Since I work part-time, I have plenty of flexibility in my daily schedule to give dogs the attention, exercise, and care they need. I’m available most days and can easily fit pet care into my routine. The only exception is Tuesdays and Thursdays, when I’m available before 5 PM. I’m happy to work with your schedule and make sure your pet gets consistent, reliable care. When caring for dogs in your home, I focus on keeping them comfortable and maintaining their normal routine. I’ll follow your instructions for feeding, walks, playtime, medication if needed, and any other care they’re used to. I’ll give them plenty of attention and make sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for while you’re away. I’ll also treat your home with the same respect and care I would my own.
“Tuongvi, as always, was wonderful. Our Peggy recently had an injury and had additional medication - Tuongvi double-checked the instructions. We got so many photos throughout, so that we knew our girls were safe and happy.”

“Lana is great - super reliable, on time and most importantly she kept the puppy super happy ! Those with puppies know that this can be a busy job ☺️☺️☺️. We did book her twice and will definitely book her again”

“Overall, I am VERY happy with Kahealani. She kept us updated throughout the stay, sent plenty of pictures, and even handled an issue with the neighbors dog who learned (or maybe it was our dogs who learned) to operate the latch on the gate between our yards and decided to come over for a swim. We have not had the best luck finding a pet sitter, but I am pretty sure we found someone in Kahaelani that took care of our babies in a way that made us feel happy. For the first time in a while, we did not have to worry about our puppies while we were gone, we knew they were in GREAT hands. I will be sending her name to a couple of my neighbors who are looking for a sitter for their dogs. She was GREAT and I cannot wait to use her services again, and I know my puppies can't wait!!!”

“Sherry came to the rescue at the last minute to stay for 4 days with my pups after my dogsitter cancelled. I was unable to meet her but she graciously met my best friend to be introduced to Finn and Charlie. She played ball with them and gave them lots of snuggles as well as sent photos and stayed in communication with us while we were gone. Will be calling Sherry in the future.”

About: Hi! I’m currently an Animal Science student with a Pre-Vet minor, so caring for animals is a big part of both my life and my education. I love getting to know each pet’s personality and making sure they feel comfortable, safe, and loved while you’re away. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, or just keeping them company, I’ll treat your pet like they’re one of my own. I’m reliable, communicative, and excited to meet your furry best friend! I am a college student so I have plenty of time to provide services. I an looking forward to any time of day throughout the week. I make sure that the dog is comfortable and I won't make the dog do anything that it doesn't want to do. I cooperate with them as much as I can.

“Monic is SO amazing and so down to earth! 💜🐶💜🐱She house sat for me and prior to that spoke with me and got to know my pets to figure out a schedule that provided the love and care closest to my furbabies normal every day routine! I was so happy every step of the way and felt very reassured that I was leaving my animals and home in the best hands. It warmed my heart so much to hear how much she enjoyed the company of my furbabies. I would 1000% recommend her if you ever need someone to watch your pets!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Prairie View walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Prairie View maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Prairie View choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Prairie View. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
