“Katie was an absolute lifesaver taking care of my dog while I was attending an event. My dog settled in immediately and seemed excited from the point she walked through the door, and almost didn’t want to leave when I picked her up. Katie was responsive and sent me pictures through the night and it was all around amazing!”

About: I have loved animals since I was very young, I have a very loving kind heart, I will treat your baby like my own. :) I work weekends, off around 3pm on Saturday. so I am all yours during the week. I have a lovely totally fenced backyard..with lots of room to run!! I am happy to walk your dog any time of the day that is best for you. Or as often as needed. Just let me know
“All I can say is WOW! This was my first time using Rover and it was absolutely incredible. I expect this was a rare Rover experience - because we seriously could not have asked for more. My girlfriend and I were in town for a weekend getaway and wanted to check out some non dog-friendly wineries during the afternoon/evening on a Saturday. We saw Amanda's listing and crossed our fingers with our last minute Friday night booking. Amanda responded within the hour letting us know she would be happy to watch over him for the day. Her communication was professional and her availability flexible. Let me tell you... Amanda's place is an absolute wonderland for an adventure dog. She has a ton of property for your dog to run around on ... and animals galore! Our husky (Myth) got to meet horses, donkeys, ostriches, cats, chickens ... and more! This was an amazing experience for him (as a city dog that only gets to play with other dogs at the dog park). I can't imagine another scenario where he would have got to interact and play with such a diverse array of animals. Amanda clearly knows how to handle animals as well. She briefed us on her background training and handling all sorts of different animals and then backed it up with hourly videos showing us a new trick she had taught Myth - or a fun picture/video of Myth playing with one of her other animals (shoutout to her new dog Anakin who is an absolute good boy and new best friend of Myth's). She even asked us if it was okay to take Myth to the dog park. Her communication during Myth's stay helped us relax while out and about. She is clearly an animal lover to the core. If I'm being honest I'm pretty sure Myth would have been happy to stay on Amanda's ranch forever. 10/10 experience ... and her rate is super reasonable for the amazing experience your dog is going to get under her care. Thank you Amanda.”

About: I have a 3 year old Bernese Mountain dog that I have raised from a puppy. Ready to share my love and care with more dogs and pups when their parents need a hand! I’m working from home right now, and I am looking forward to helping your pup during the workday, or when there are trips that your pup can’t come on! I will take good care of your pup’s needs, and look out for safety in your home and out and about! Please let me know of any special needs
“Miki was AMAZING with my adult dog Moose. She was welcoming and friendly and communicated extremely well. She sent us updates throughout the day and was very responsive. She walked my dog and took care of him like he was her own pet! She made him comfortable and he isn’t easy to trust right away but with Miki and her family Moose seemed to feel right at home. We booked her for day care 2 days, back to back, and Moose seemed excited to go back! I hope she’s available next time we need a sitter because she will be the first person that comes to mind. Thank you Miki! We appreciate you so much 😄”

“Kara was outstanding and accepted my last minute request for day care. My pup seemed to really enjoy her time there! She must have been playing all day because she was completely wiped when we got home, that’s how I know she had a good time though!”

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life and currently have a 13 year old dog named Sammy and a 7 year old dog named Martin in Colombia. Being around dogs has taught me a lot about different personalities, routines, and the care they need at different stages of life. I also help care for my friends’ dog, Perry, when they travel, so I have experience with daily routines, giving medication when needed, monitoring feeding and weight, and making sure pets feel comfortable, loved, and safe. I understand that every dog is different, and I would treat your pet with the same care, patience, and attention I give my own. My schedule is flexible and I make time for pet care throughout my week. I understand the importance of consistency, routines, and giving pets the attention they need. I’m committed to making sure pets feel comfortable, cared for, and loved while keeping owners updated along the way. I understand how important trust is when leaving your pet with someone else. I always follow the pet’s routine, feeding instructions, medication schedules if needed, and any specific care requests from owners. I pay close attention to behavior and make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for in a calm environment.

I love to walk my dogs and always make sure they get enough play time everyday!
“Mr. Mack had a great time with Lauren and family. He feels right at home in their home. He had play time, cuddle time, walk time and lunch time -- all bases covered! We will find future dates to request daycare again because we are 100% confident Mr. Mack is well loved and adored in their care.”

“Family loves the pictures that Natalie sends of our pup's adventures through out the day. Our pup truly enjoys her daycare and her family likes knowing she is having a blast with her friend Flower.”

“Matthew and his significant other were total life savers during an occasionally unpredictable week for me. They were great with Reaux & super understanding and flexible when things came up at work that required me to go in earlier or come home later. Matthew texted an update during the day with a picture of Reaux. He also was very gracious when Reaux peed on his rug. This was an amazing River experience!!!”

“Emelie was very responsive, attentive and kept us up to date on how things were going with our pup Louie. He was a bit stressed being to be dropped off after a few days of car travel, but Emelie took him on a nice long walk to settle him down. Great location and safe spot in the middle of SLO. Thanks Emelie!”

About: I like to walk the dogs daily around the Atascadero Lake. I have a decent size fenced backyard with room to run and use my poop scooper daily. I am retired and looking for things to do during the week (mon-Fri) to fill my days. I have always loved the company of dogs and love to take them on daily walks. I have a dog bed in my bedroom, where your dog would sleep at night. The dogs water bowl is always kept clean and fresh. The dogs would always be welcome to hang out in the house with me, too.
“Left my sweet boy with Niccola for a week and based on her great communication and feedback, he did amazing and was a happy boy when I picked him up. I would choose Niccola every time I need him to go somewhere. She’s so great!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of June 2026, there are 184 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Pozo. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Pozo commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 184 sitters in Pozo, 90% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
