About: I have been an active volunteer with the Elmore SPCA in Peru Ny for 4 years. I often walk, socialize, enrich, and foster the dogs in the shelters care. I have worked with puppy's as young as 3 months up to the elder dogs to provide comfort. I am currently home for summer between my graduate years of college, my work schedule varies week to week. I have lived in this area for my entire life and am comfortable with traveling for the care. Unfortunately during this time I am unable to have pets in my home. To ensure the safety for me and your pets I have completed all state required ASPCA programs to work professionally with animals. The topics for dogs and cats included; body language, diseases, safety and management, and cleaning regulations. I have regularly walked and fostered dogs from Elmore SPCA in upstate NY. Through them I have gained lots of experience handling different breeds, temperaments, sizes and ages of dogs.

About: My earliest memories feature dogs and cats, and they have been in my life since the age of three. Frankly, it's difficult to imagine my life without them. I have been taking care of my own, family and friends furry companions from the age of ten. I'm here for the snuggles, pets, playtimes, walks, potty breaks, litter changes and the quiet times too. From tiny, eight week old puppies, prime adults and elderly dogs that require a different kind of care and patience, to rambunctious kittens and their chill adult counterparts, each animal has a personality of their own; I'm here for them all. When people ask if I'm a cat or dog person, for me there isn't a choice; it's both! I've had experience with: - House and command training puppies from the age of eight weeks and up - Daily walks, usually between 30 min minimum to 2-3 hours; I love walks too, so it's a win-win 🐾 - Administering oral and topical medications to canines; mouths, eyes, and ears - Playtime! Or just keeping them quiet company, if that's what they prefer. - Dropping in and checking on our feline babies: changing litter boxes, feeding, play and keeping them company. I love spending time with cats of any size and stage. I am currently working part-time in food/hospitality, and begin seasonal event work in the springtime so my schedule is flexible. Currently, I have flexible availability for walks, drop-in visits or house-stays on Monday, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. When dropping in for a visit at a client's home, I always make sure to keep the space secure and clean for our four-legged friends. Pet owners can rest assured that their dogs will be engaged with and supervised, and cat people will know that their kitties are in a safe, calm environment. Animals are special to me, and I aim to treat them all as if they are my own.

He followed any/all directions we had left for our dog and kept us in the loop daily when we checked in. We trust him to stay in our home and take great care of our dog. Our dog is typically anxious and when we got home from our trip, we saw that Tia ate very well while we were gone which is sometimes a struggle when we leave her. We were very happy with her care. “Amanda was absolutely amazing, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. We hired her to stay in our home for three nights to care for our 14 year old senior dog and our 15 year old cat. My wife and I were a little apprehensive at first about having someone we did not know stay overnight in our home, especially with our senior dog, who needs frequent trips outside and is prone to accidents in the house. Amanda completely exceeded our expectations. She went above and beyond in every way, giving both of our pets the attention they needed and carefully following all of our care instructions. That level of care and compassion really meant a lot to us. She also kept our home incredibly clean. In fact, she even vacuumed the living room before we got home and left the house cleaner than we left it. On top of that, she sent us daily updates and texts about both our dog and cat, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away.
