“Jaime was very communicative and kind. Kept me up to date on my babies and I felt reassured that they were in good hands. Will definitely hire Jaime again!”

“Ellie was a great find for watching my senior cat. She was very kind and compassionate, made sure he got his meds and extra cuddle. I know my cat appreciated having her visit.”

“Ally did an absolutely phenomenal job taking care of our dogs and cats over the Christmas holiday. She followed all our care instructions perfectly and sent tons of pictures and videos, which we really appreciated getting! She also went above and beyond in other ways, like cleaning the kitty bed after an accident and discarding some fruit that was going bad on the counter. The communication was top-notch, so we always felt like we knew how everyone was doing. The dogs got plenty of exercise on their walks and lots of affection from Ally and her husband. We will 100% be re-booking with her! Thank you again Ally :)”

“Another wonderful sitting experience. It’s nice to have Lynn watch my gatos - particularly when they aren’t feeling well. I know they are in good hands.”

“I used Rod again for my pugs! They LOVE him. I scheduled him last minute and he immediately responded and made me feel good — once again—to leave my babies with him. He stayed longer than he needed to and i felt so comfortable being away.”

“This was my first time hiring a pet sitter and I was nervous. My older cat has health conditions and has to take medicine. Madaline was wonderful! She took great care of our two cats. She was friendly and professional, and did a great job. I wasn’t worried at all after the first day’s check in! She sent pictures every day and I was so relieved they were being well cared for. I will definitely hire her again in the future!”

“Theresa is wonderful. I was hesitant to leave my cat alone as she has her quirks. Theresa came by every day twice and interacted well with whiskey once whiskey decided to stop hiding! I came home to a happy content cat and clean house. She kept me updated with lots of photos and texts. Definitely recommend Theresa!”

“Emma was great! This was our first time using Rover and she se the bar high with a meet and greet before hand, timely communication and made us feel at ease. Our boys loved her and we are looking forward to our rebooking with her!”

“Farrell came and helped take Jaxon out and care for him while I was away and she did a fantastic job! Great at communicating, sharing photos and updates. 100% would book her again!”

About: Hi, I’m Debbie, and I have always had dogs in my life! I retired a little over a year ago, and I love spending time with my husband and our 2 year old Golden Retriever, Frankie. He’s our second Golden and we love this breed, although we really love all dogs — cats, too! I enjoy walking Frankie and we are avid walkers in this house. I’d love to take your dog on walks, too! I’m available for dog walking, drop in visits for feeding and potty breaks (with or without Frankie tagging along, that would be up to you); I can also housesit your dog in your own home while you’re away on vacation or other travels. I look forward to meeting you and your pet! I’m retired, so my schedule is fairly flexible. I occasionally have appointments and other activities, but I can easily fit your pet’s care into my lifestyle. I have a fully fenced backyard where my Golden Retriever, Frankie, would be ready to make friends with your dog if you’d like them to meet. If you’d prefer that your dog stay at home in his/her own surroundings, I’ll be happy to oblige whatever requests you have in order to keep your pet comfortable and happy.
“Dominique was wonderful! She truly is a treasure. She gave loving and conscientious care to my cats; and, especially to my special needs girl. I am lucky to have found her!”

“This is Avery’s second time visiting Izzy, and we really appreciate her kindness and willingness to help us out. She is professional and delivers a valuable service for our family. Most importantly, Izzy loves her!”

“This was my Husband and I’s first time using Rover and Carly was such an amazing find. From the moment we met Carly we knew our Kitty Fur Babies would be in good hands. She made sure she had their daily num num routine down along with their other personal care needs. Carly put us at ease being away from our Fur Babies Gala and Floki. We looked forward to getting our Rover Report Card everyday. It had an update with how they were doing along with pictures. She was also very quick with responding to messages. We were so beyond happy with how she took care of our Fur Babies. You will not go wrong with Carly.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs for 5 families in my neighborhood as well as walked them for 3 of the families. I love getting to know them and care for them. I am currently working part time at Monelli’s as a hostess, as well as preparing to be a full time student at Western Michigan University in the fall. Pet care will be a side hustle to fit in where I can so I have something fun to do between classes. As I settle into routine, I may be open to house sitting on the weekends. I have many pet sitting experiences and I am quick an active person, so I love to go on walks with the fur babies. Currently, pet sitting would be at a client’s house because I live with my parents and will be moving into a dorm in the fall.
About: Your pets deserve the best and you shouldn't have to settle for anything less. I have taken care of cats and dogs of all sorts, whether they be energetic, laid back, nervous and shy, or total goofballs. When my friends and family go out of town, I'm the person they call to watch their fur babies. I am reliable, loving, patient, thorough, and considerate of your home, expectations, and needs. I am currently working a part-time job that is 3 days a week, so I am looking to fill my time with walks, fetch, and cuddles! I am happy to comply with however you typically do things with your pets. I am experienced with dog training commands, crate training, and dog body language.
“Gina did such a great job with taking care of our two cats for a long weekend! She had good emphasis on play and we loved her Rover cards! Our boys were in great spirits when we got home and it’s the best experience we’ve had with check ins on Rover yet!”

Elizabeth was amazing with my two cats!! Sge was on time and communicated with me daily while we were gone on a long cruise. I loved the videos she sent me all the details of what she was doing with my boys. And could see they absolutely loved her. It was the first time I ever had someone other than family watch my boys while I was gone. She made us feel very comfortable and respected our home from the initial meet and greet through the time we got home. I could tell from the videos and pictures she was sending that my boys really enjoyed her and were comfortable with her. I’m sure they miss their play and outside time with her. I highly recommend Elizabeth!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Portage. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
