About: Grew up in a dog loving home and loved going to dog shows. I have experience watching friends and family dogs when they're away. We have 2 friendly dogs of our own and they would be welcoming to your dog. We have lots of property for the dogs to run and play and a trail out back for the dogs to explore. Our yard does have an invisible fence with a collar if you're concerned.

About: I've taken care of our dogs growing up and both dogs and cats for friends, family, and strangers. Everyone has been happy with my care. I have a full time job currently but I will still be available to help watch your pets with good notice. I will be updating my calendar as I receive my schedule. My job sends out a schedule for 2 weeks at a time. With plenty of notice and details for care I'll make sure they stay happy while you are gone. I can only take care of pets in the owner's home as I live in a place that doesn't allow pets. I usually ask for owners to leave a list of details for care for their pets. If pets are nervous I prefer to stop by and meet them when their owners are home a day or so in advance so I'm not a complete stranger. But if that isn't an option I'm ok working with your pets so they are comfortable when I get there.

About: I've had pets my entire life. Dogs, cats, rats, hamsters, fish, etc. I absolutely love animals of all shapes and sizes. I volunteer at the SPCA in my spare time because I just can't get enough. I have a fairly flexible schedule and a reliable vehicle. I would love to set up a regular schedule so that I can plan in advance for the best care possible. I have an older Chihuahua who is very mellow and gets along with all animals and humans. I have a grassy open area for play as well as a fenced off area for off leash play.

About: Over most of my childhood and adulthood I have pet sat for neighbors and friends. I have watched all types of dogs and even exotics. So I like to say I’m pretty well versed with all types of pets and their care. I have administered medications, dog walking, feeding, mini training sessions, cleaned litter boxes, kept the pets on a routine, and most of all showed them all my love and attention. PLEASE MESSAGE ME BEFORE BOOKING!😊🐶🐱 PLEASE MESSAGE ME BEFORE BOOKING! I’m currently looking for a part time job and would love to fit pet sitting into my schedule. My weekends are usually open for watching over your fur babies and sometimes during the work week. I work Monday -Thursday at my full time and have a three day weekend. My hours are 7:40am - 6:00pm with a two hour lunch which leaves me time to still check on pets. I definitely ask a lot of questions about your dog or cats routine and what they are used to so it’s not super stressful. I would love to get to know your pet first so they are used to me and aren’t scared. What kind of treats they like or if they have any restrictions.

About: I love all animals and grew up taking care of all sorts of pets, however dogs hold the biggest piece of my heart. My wonderful pup, Bentley, recently went over the rainbow 🌈 after 13 amazing years together and there’s been a little piece of me missing ever since. Let me love on your dog when you can’t! We will definitely be helping each other out ❤️🥰 I work from home and can be around most of the time your pet is in my care. I love to play and go on walks. My schedule is very flexible and I can accommodate your pet, whatever the need. When they are with me, they are welcome on the couch and bed or I will follow any instructions to keep your fur baby on their normal regimen. Every animal has different needs and I will make sure they feel comfortable and are well cared for. I am familiar with aggressive breeds and know how to handle all kinds of situations. I’ve also had a senior pet that required medicines and special foods. Whatever kind of care your pet needs, I can assure you I will treat them like my own. I generally only sit 1-3 dogs at a time (dependent on size) since I live in an apartment, however I will take them out often to make sure they get enough exercise and I will smother them with love if they will let me! If you have more then 3 dogs or any questions on how many dogs will be here with yours, please reach out! I will try to accommodate wherever I can.

About: ** Please Read - Drop-in services will be limited to the Sequim/Diamond Point area ** Mature, energetic, responsible, and absolutely devoted to animals — that’s me in a nutshell. I work a flexible M–F job in Sequim that allows me to provide consistent, reliable care throughout the week. Pets instantly pick up on my calm, kind energy, and I take pride in creating a safe, happy experience for every animal I meet. From daily routines to special quirks, I pay attention to the details that matter. Your pets deserve someone who truly cares, and I’m here to be that person. ** Please Read - Drop-in services will be limited to the Sequim/Diamond Point area ** I’m a mature, energetic early riser who loves starting the day with movement—running, walking, and soaking up as much fresh air as possible. I’d always choose time outdoors over being inside, and pets seem to love that about me. Even though I work a Monday–Friday job, my schedule is flexible enough for reliable mid‑day check‑ins, walks, and quality attention. Your pets get my full focus, great energy, and genuine care every time. You can feel completely at ease knowing that your pets and your home are in caring, reliable hands. I take safety and trust very seriously, and I treat every pet and every space with the same respect and attention I’d want for my own. My goal is always to create a calm, secure, and happy experience—so you can head out with confidence, knowing everything you value is my top priority.

About: I have had dogs my entire life and can't imagine life without them! Most of mine were rescues but I have a heart for all (also including cats, horses, donkeys, chickens). My 14-year-old hound mix Charlie crossed the Rainbow Bridge a few years and while he took a little bit of my heart with him, I really miss being with and caring for animals again. I have filled this need with pet sitting and volunteering at equine rescues and equine-assisted therapy non profits. If you want your big and little ones treated and loved just as you would do, I’m here. I’m a baby-on-the-sofa, next-to-me-in-bed kind of pet carer — and I’m happy to follow your rules if that means floors and crates (there’s still plenty of opportunity for love and affection). We will walk, play, snuggle and be as active as your pet needs. We can do car rides and doggy parks, visit friends, have play dates, go for puppucinos. I’m flexible, open, and want only for your pets to be as happy with me as they are when you’re home. I’m what I always looked for in my extensive use of pet sitters: dependable, committed, at home most of the time, and a true animal lover. I’m happy to administer meds as needed, have cared for my own senior dogs with limitations (deaf, dementia, physical limitations, hospice). I will not only care for your fur family as I would my own (which means a whole lotta of love, interaction, play, and attention), but I will care for your home in the same manner. I’m all grown up, mature, responsible, and reliable and have been a homeowner for years. Your home will be clean and maintained, ready for your return, and your pets will be cared for and happy to see you. I have been fortunate to have had at-home pet sitters who were superb. That’s what I wish to offer to someone else and their fur babies. Peace of mind, certainty that all is well, and confidence that their pets are safe, sound, and happy. I am retired from Emory University, so I am readily available. What Susan would like to know about your pet? Please let me know feeding habits, amounts, times. Normal bed/wake-up times. In and out times. Walking preferences, favorite toys, favorite activities. If there’s anything that scares or worries your pet, tell me. Medical history, let me know. Additional Skills Oral Medication Administration Special Needs Dog Experience Senior Dog Experience Cat care-also chickens and birds Can provide daily exercise. I am soon to be retired, work at home part-time and am finally fulfilling my passions-pet sitting, equine rescue volunteering and just bumming around. What could be better-dogs, horses and retirement? Your pet’s usual day is my day. Sleep late or not. Go for multiple brisk or leisurely (sniffing time!) walks. Lounge around at home or go for rides or to the doggy park. I’m flexible, open, and want only to make your little ones as happy as they can be without you.

About: —~> Ask about Farm Animal Care <~— Spending time with animals is a gift. It is a joy to meet new furry friends and give them extra love while their caretakers are out adventuring or working. I love to go for walks on the beach or in the woods. I like to chase sunsets and sunrises. All of which are more enjoyable with sweet creatures. I adore giving affection and opportunities to play for both cats and dogs. I have tended to a variety of different types of animals over the years. Some need ample one on one attention. Which I accommodate by giving them solo walks and separate meal times when requested. Others who loved to be social or had other animal roommates that needed plenty of outdoor time. Elder cats and dogs who needed extra special care, medication, fluids, and special diets. Dog and cat drop ins can make a world of difference for an animal navigating extended time away from their people/person. I give them all focused attention, consideration, bonding interactions and love. Dog walks are a vital key to their health and well being. It takes a village to tend to our critters too! Human and animal. I have many special spots for them to enjoy throughout the Olympic Peninsula. Including safe off leash areas when requested. I have a 7 year old dog, Hoodi. She does not come with me for cat or dog drop ins. Dog walks can include her company or not, always at your discretion. She does join me for overnight pet sitting and loves other dogs. She tends towards submissive and loves to chase and play. She is very mellow indoors and enjoys watching the activity of others. Throughout her life she has helped with pet sits. For her first four years of life she lived with two other dogs. She is a great addition to any pack. I have experience farm sitting which includes plant watering of green house, gardens, field and pasture. As well as goat milking, poultry care, and feeding of cows, horses, goats and pigs. Feel free to message me in booking about pricing for full time/part time farm care. Please note my pet sitting is limited to the Olympic Peninsula and Kitsap County. I pet sit most frequently in Port Townsend, Discovery Bay, Sequim, Blyn, Port Ludlow, Brinnon, Port Gamble, Quilcene, Chimacum, Port Hadlock, Irondale, and Marrowstone Island. Occasionally I will work in Port Angeles, Joyce, Forks, Queets, Poulsbo, Kingston, Bremerton, Bainbridge and Silverdale. I prefer extended house sits and like to build solid bonds with animals. I prioritize repeat clients. I have additional references outside of Rover. As many of my clients book me via word of mouth. This profile gives ease of access to my calendar. I currently work seasonally teaching art based school break kids camps and afterschool programing on the Olympic Peninsula. I spend the rest of my time making art from home and adventuring outdoors. This means I can have extended quality time with your pet(s) for walks and/or outdoor play and indoor care. Summer is my busiest season as a teacher. I have less availability during it. I believe maintaining routines and exercise is important for the physical and emotional well being of all animals. I will strive to uphold this and adapt my schedule as best as I can for your pet(s). I enjoy taking the time to communicate with you about your desires, concerns, texting check ins and sending sweet photos for your peace of mind. As every pet is an important family member. I know them to be kin.

Whitney was great! We had her watch our guy two separate times in June and felt very comfortable and so happy he could be at home while we were away. We will definitely have Whitney look after JJ in the future. You can tell she really cares for animals and the updates and pictures were great. She took care of everything as requested and we are really happy to have Whitney whenever we can if we go away to look after our favorite guy! Thank you!

One of the hardest parts of leaving for a long trip has been figuring out how to make sure our cat is taken care of while we are away. Shantell greatly reduced that worry by being easy to communicate with, on time and consistently reliable. Receiving the photos and updates every day while we were away reassured me that everything was ok. Upon arriving home I could tell my cat was well taken care of. I hope Shantell is available next time we take a trip because I am very happy with the job she did.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
