About: I've taken care of our dogs growing up and both dogs and cats for friends, family, and strangers. Everyone has been happy with my care. I have a part time job currently but I will still be available to help watch your pets with good notice. I will be updating my calendar as I receive my schedule. My job sends out a schedule for 2 weeks at a time. With plenty of notice and details for care I'll make sure they stay happy while you are gone. I can only take care of pets in the owner's home as I live in a place that doesn't allow pets. I usually ask for owners to leave a list of details for care for their pets. If pets are nervous I prefer to stop by and meet them when their owners are home a day or so in advance so I'm not a complete stranger. But if that isn't an option I'm ok working with your pets so they are comfortable when I get there.

About: Grew up in a dog loving home and loved going to dog shows. I have experience watching friends and family dogs when they're away. We have 2 friendly dogs of our own and they would be welcoming to your dog. We have lots of property for the dogs to run and play and a trail out back for the dogs to explore. Our yard does have an invisible fence with a collar if you're concerned.

About: I have had over 20yrs experience pet/house sitting and have impeccable references. If you are looking for a responsible person to shower your 4~legged companions with oodles of TLC, look no further. I am available to care for your pet(s) at your home or mine. I live on a 50 acre property with lots of room to romp and exercise on or off leash. I also live across from a 2000+ acre recreation park/sanctuary with mikes of hiking trails for additional exercise and adventures. I am a semi-retired RN so your pet(s) would not be left alone for any length of time. I look forward to basking in their company and doting on them 24/7. Please contact me for any questions. Thank you for your consideration. ~Claudia I am a retired RN so your dog(s) would have me to keep them company all day along with our own 2 dogs (4 yr old Basset Hound and 8yr old English Springer Spaniel) who both neutered very dog friendly males. We have a lovely fully fenced 8+ acres property and comfy home for your dog(s) to have the run of along with our 2 dogs. We are both home all day and there is always someone here at all times. No dog is left home alone. We also have a caretaker who tends to the the 2 horses and mini donkey (whom live in separate pastures from the main property, as well as / goats that live in a back pasture. We have a fully fenced 8 acre property with a four ft fence. Dogs are free to have access to entire property as well as free range indoors. We have a very comfortable home with a large wrap around deck and 5 exits. So it’s in/out all day as much as any dog wants/needs. It’s truly doggie heaven here and most people want to stay themselves when they drop off their dogs. We don’t care for more than 2 at a time.

About: I am home full time with a large beautiful fenced yard and an English Labrador that loves to play. I only book one client at a time so they get treated like family. No kennels and no concerns about being around unknown dogs. Buckaroo is also very well behaved with older dogs that do not want to play! I am home full time, available for boarding and daycare. Daily walks included as well as time in the yard to play. I only accept one client at a time so there is less stress and they are treated like family. I have a large fenced yard as well as my own dog that loves to play. Your dog will be with me throughout the day both inside and out. Mine likes to follow me everywhere. Velcro Dog! Your fur baby will be treated the same as mine! Because I have both a cat and dog in the home I cannot accept any dogs with aggressive behavior. Please keep this in mind when requesting boarding. About: While I don’t have extensive professional experience caring for other people’s pets, I have been around animals my entire life. My family has always had either a cat or a dog, which has given me experience with the daily responsibilities of caring for pets and understanding their needs. I currently have open availability Monday through Sunday, from mornings through evenings. Since I am not working at the moment, I have a flexible schedule and am available for house sitting or dog walking for extended periods as needed. While I do not currently have any pets of my own, I am committed to providing a safe, comfortable, and caring environment for every client’s pet. My goal is to make sure they feel happy, relaxed, and well cared for while they are with me.

About: With a lifelong love for dogs and a spacious, half-acre, fully fenced backyard, your dog will have plenty of room to run, play, and explore safely. Our family loves dogs, and my teenage kids enjoy giving them extra playtime and attention. Our friendly Bernedoodle also loves making new friends! Rest assured, your dog will be treated like family and receive plenty of love, attention, and excellent care. I have a flexible work schedule and update my Rover availability based on the days I'm working remotely or have time off. This allows me to be home throughout the day to provide plenty of supervision, attention, playtime, and care for your dog. In our home, we know that playtime and companionship are essential. Your dog will sleep indoors in a crate or kennel and spend most of the day with our family in our downstairs living area. They'll have access to our fully fenced backyard throughout the day for potty breaks, fetch, and plenty of time to run and play. We also enjoy regular walks around our neighborhood, and your dog will receive lots of love, attention, and care while they're with us.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .

sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
