“I can’t say enough about Sarah!!! She is sweet, and truly cares about the pets that she takes care of! She literally put me at ease in the first 5 minutes of meeting her to leave my 12 week old frenchie puppy. She and her family treat her as if she is theirs! I received pics from the day of her playing, nap time, and an itinerary of her day!! Best of all, my puppy comes home happy, playful, and content! Truly a blessing to find Sarah!!!”

“Gerry is so sweet and takes great care of my pup! My dog comes home very happy after her time with Gerry. I am so thankful for the love and care she gives to my girl!”

About: I have been around dogs and cats my whole life. Up until recently, I have raised 2 dogs for the past 15 years and cats prior to/during part of that time. I am a stay-at-home mom with 2 young adults away at college so I have flexibility to visit homes with dogs or cats throughout the day. My innate ability to connect with animals has inspired me to seek out work where I may spend more time caring for them. I understand the care and concern pet owners have for their pets, especially when they are not able to be home for them. My experience being the primary caregiver for my own pets has nurtured my love for animals and provided me with knowledge of basic training techniques. It is my goal to provide peace of mind that I will care for your pet the same as I would for my own furry loved one. I look forward to visiting with new furry friends! I am currently home all days of the week except midday Tuesdays. Therefore, I have flexibility to visit pets throughout the day on most days. I am currently living in a neighborhood with ample space for walks. In addition, I have reliable transportation for visits to clients’ homes as necessary.
“Ashley did an amazing job watching our fur babies! She was very responsive and communicated the entire time. Stanley and Lola loved spending the day cuddling with her. Thanks so much Ashley!”

“Kaela and her family are awesome. We really liked how responsive and accommodating she was. We needed to book a last minute reservation 2 days for our dog for July 4th, she quickly responded to confirm. Most importantly, seeing our dog happy when we picked her up the first day, and wagging her tail when seeing Kaela the second day, showed us how happy the doggo was with Kaela. I'd definitely love to have Kaela take care of our dog the next time we are in the area.”

“Yogi had an amazing time at Swapna’s. She was always sending updates and making sure all of Yogis needs were met! We did a meet and greet before and Swapna made us feel very comfortable with dropping off Yogi! We will definitely be back!”

“Absolutely amazing care for my Baby Belle! Thanks so much for taking good care of her and treating her like a member of the family. Love the video of Belle at play- thank you!”

About: I have 20 years of pet experience, from having my own animals since I was a little girl to volunteering and working at animal shelters for dogs and cats. I've seen a lot and learned a lot while working in animal shelters. I have also done a lot of pet sitting. I am experienced with diabetic animals; my one cat was diabetic and had heart disease. I would check his sugar levels and give him insulin along with his heart medication. I knew at a very young age that I wanted to work with animals. I am very compassionate towards them, and they are very drawn to me. I will always make sure your pet is safe and well taken care of while in my care.🐶❤️😻🐾 My schedule can be flexible to meet your pet's needs. Please contact me for more information at your convenience. I look forward to meeting you and your pet. My family and friends know how much I love animals. If someone they know needs a pet sitter or just someone to check on their cat or dog, they always recommend me. They know how compassionate I am towards animals and that they will be safe and treated like family in my care.

About: I’ve had a lifelong love for dogs, caring for others and many years of hands-on experience caring for my own. My beloved Yorkshire Terrier was part of my family for 17 wonderful years. She was truly my baby, and caring for her throughout every stage of life—from playful puppy days to her senior years—taught me patience, attentiveness, and how deeply our pets rely on us. While I’m not quite ready to welcome another dog of my own just yet, I would love the opportunity to share my time and affection with your pup. I understand that dogs are family, and I will treat yours with the same love, care, and attention I gave my own. I’m a caring, dependable, and responsible person who will make sure your dog feels safe, comfortable, and loved while just for a day or if you’re away. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine. I’m a stay-at-home mom, which allows me to have a flexible schedule and plenty of time during the day to give dogs the attention, care, and companionship they need. Because I’m home most of the time, I’m able to provide regular potty breaks, walks, playtime, and lots of affection. Your dog’s safety and comfort are very important to me. I provide a loving, and secure environment where your pet will be treated like family. I’m happy to take dogs on walks and make sure they get the exercise and attention they need. I can also crate your dog while not home if that is part of their normal routine and something that makes them feel comfortable. I will always follow your instructions carefully so your dog can stay on their usual schedule and feel as relaxed as possible while in my care.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 1,629 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Polhemustown. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Polhemustown commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
