About: I have had a wide range of experience caring for a variety of pets ever since I was a young child. I have taken care of dogs and cats for over a decade. Your pet will have all the attention and care they need during their time with me or in my home. I work Monday to Friday with weekends off. I am able to care for them before and right after work, with family home during the day as well. I care for pets by feeding them their proper diet, playing with them/making them feel welcome, making sure their bathroom needs are met, and updating the owners.
“Meena has been an absolute god-send to me & more importantly our dog Jackson. Meena truly cares and her approach is professional & loving. Her communication is timely and I really appreciate that our dog, who is visually impaired and a diabetic. is so well cared for when being watched by Meena. I highly recommend her!”

“Christa is the best! She is so nice to help taking care of Toba for a last minute request. Our boy Toba was still recovering from diarrhea and needs probiotics for a few days. I was worried about this situation happened right before our trip. She is so patient for this extra care. From our first meet I just felt right that I can trust her! During our trip we received a lot of pictures and detailed updates from her. We can tell Toba really enjoyed meeting her and the walks! She really took a good care of my boy. We came home with a fully recovered and happy boy and felt so grateful for Christa’ s help! Christa is definitely the one you can fully trust with your little family member! We will have her back next time and highly recommend her to all!”

I’ve always had a deep love for animals and have even worked as a vet tech during the summer. When it comes to pet sitting, I regularly look after pets for my friends and family when they’re away. I’ve had dogs and cats my whole life, from doodles to shepherds and labs. With experience in various roles, I’m confident in saying that I am responsible, reliable, have excellent communication skills, and, most importantly, a true passion for animals! Im currently home for the summer and am available anytime during the week. Along with weekends at any times. Im willing too work any hours as long as they are communicated in advance. I am able too provide a clean and safe environment for your pet if needed!I also can stay with your pet/clean there environment if needed.
“Mirella did a fantastic job pet sitting our two guinea pigs over Christmas. One of our pigs is elderly and has health issues, and Mirella handled them very professionally and compassionately. We felt so much better traveling knowing that our pigs were in good hands at home. Thank you!!”

“Ruth is the best. She is so reliable and good with our cats. I feel comfortable with having her do the difficult things like medication to giving them love while we’re away. And I love seeing the pictures.”

“Rebecca was a lifesaver dropping in to let our Holly out and give her a little company! The drop in went well, and Holly was happy to see Rebecca. I will not hesitate to book Rebecca again. Thank you, Rebecca!!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was in third grade when I got one of my own. I have two now and have dealt with multiple different breeds. Friends and family have relied on me to walk and feed their pets. I am currently a post graduate student in search of a job. As of right now, I do not have a job and I am looking to care for pets in the meantime. I have plenty of time to walk, feed, or play with your pets! I am available any weekday and most weekends! I have a fenced in yard as does most of my family who I’ve cared for their dogs. I respect all rules ensuring all pets are safe. I have experience with dogs who are pet aggressive and make sure she is never with any other pets.
About: I’ve taken care of a wide variety of dogs and some cats throughout my life so far. I’ve developed a high tolerance for specifically high energy dogs after adopting my current 6 year old goldendoodle, so I can pretty much handle anything (dogs who tend to bite, jump a lot, jolty on a leash, etc.). I live in Hamilton NJ, so I’d love to take your pet on frequent trips to the Mercer County Park where there are minimal people and distractions - just the beautiful nature! Experienced with using treats to ensure good heels, walks over +1 hours, and managing your dog when other dogs are walking nearby to ensure no unnecessary reactivity. I work a Monday-Thursday schedule, typically a bit busy throughout the day. However, due to the remote nature of my work, I am able to walk your dog at any time assuming I’m not in an active meeting at work. Anything that is scheduled a day ahead at least I can work into my work schedule with no issues whatsoever. I am all for balance; I ensure my dogs are fed throughout the day to ensure consistent energy throughout and not too much at night. I understand boredom can also increase cortisol and nerves within dogs so I ensure consistent attention and stimulation throughout the day - toys, snacks in toys that they have to work their way through, walks, etc.

On top of this I have pet sitted for family friends and neighbors as well I currently work part-time three days a week, where my hours are mostly in the evening. I also go to community college as well, but I have a ton of free time in between work shifts and classes; as well as the weekend! I have a ton of experience with different age, personality, and breeds of dogs & cats. I know how to properly care for your pets and make sure they are happy and content!

“Boryana did a great job looking after my cat while I was away! This was my first time leaving my cat for an extended period of time, but Boryana provided updates and photos that made me feel confident my cat was in good hands! My cat is normally shy but quickly warmed to Boryana and even sat on her lap by the end of the trip!”

About: I have taken care of my friends pets for a few years now, either going over to their house to check on them, let them out and play with them or even taking them on walks. I currently have 3 dogs at home, and I have been taking care of them since they were puppies as well as the dogs I have had previously as well. I know how to handle small dogs and medium/large dogs, whether it comes to walks or just checking in to play with them, or let them out for the bathroom. I am currently working a part-time job, so I have all the time during the day to walk dogs and care for them. I am free anytime after 9 am. I currently have three dogs of my own at home. I play with them a lot inside the house when it gets too hot, and every few hours I let them out for the bathroom and play and tire them out, when outside, depending on how hot it is. I walk around outside with them to get some walking in up and down our driveway.
About: I’ve been working with dogs and cats since July 2020 with minor experience in a grooming salon. I’ve always loved animals and decided to start my own dog walking business in February 2022 and have loved every aspect of it. If you’re interested in boarding, please message me before booking. I enjoy getting to know pets and their families and always make time to go over all your needs thoroughly to ensure you can trust to leave your animal with me comfortably. Your dogs needs are always my top priority and will never hesitate to protect your baby in an unsavory situation. I can administer a range of medicine, including insulin and administer fluids, adhere to any dietary and exercise needs, and love going on long walks at the park. Dog walking and sitting is my full time occupation. I am usually walking dogs from 9am-3pm on a daily basis. I have a few families that depend on me daily and some for emergencies or last minute bookings throughout the week. I book most of my stays in advance and recommend that if I cannot leave your dog unattended for at least 4 hours to look elsewhere (sorry!). My calendar is updated daily, please reach out and say hello! I always make sure to meet with a family before confirming a booking. If the booking is far enough in advance I recommend at least 1 or 2 more visits prior to the families departure just to go over basic info, daily routines, and to let your pet get more familiar with me. I’m always happy to stay over night, am very friendly with neighbors, and am a quiet homebody type. I would never invite guests over while you’re gone and always make sure I leave your home cleaner than you left it. Your trust is most important to me and hope you will consider me when booking your next trip!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Polhemustown. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
