About: I am a very passionate, attentive, and empathetic person when it comes to any and all animals! For many years I have taken sole care of both dogs and cats of all different breeds, and am well experienced in all general pet care to include special needs pets. All of the dogs I ever had as a kid were trained as puppies almost solely by myself and my brothers. My mom used to make me read books and do online research about the breed of dog we had, different training techniques, K9 first-aid, and so much more. Being as passionate as I am about animals, those studies were well retained, and while I don't have professional experience, the knowledge gained from doing it on my own with 9 different dogs over my lifetime have graced me with at the very least, an in depth knowledge of all different stages of dog ownership. This knowledge was also accentuated professionally as I worked alongside military police K9 handlers during my time in the Air Force. Not to worry though, I mix structure, routine, and discipline with plenty of tender loving care, and know how to tune my approach to dogs of all temperaments. In regards to puppies: I have experience potty training, leash training, crate training, and what I would call experienced but moderate obedience training skills. I know how to deal with things like food aggression, how to properly establish the "hierarchy" or "pack mentality" and other conditioning behaviors. As well as handling young puppies, I've even assisted a momma in giving birth to a new litter, and taking special care of a brand new litter of 7 pups! So my experience with all dogs truly does begin at birth and goes all the way to end of life care. For the old timers: The couch potatoes in our lives need just as much, and sometimes even more care than their energetic and young counterparts. I have experience with things like giving medication and shots, managing specialty diets, and a number of other age specific needs. I'm very patient and am willing to take the time to get to know your pet and what they need. Every animal has a different personality and needs attention in different ways, and I'm very attentive to that! I will always treat your pet as if they were my own, and will to the best of my ability make sure that your pet is well taken care of at all times. I'm a full-time nomad and side gigs are my primary source of income. Pet care IS my weekly routine. I'm available and more than happy to abide by the normal 9-5 schedule for daytime pet care, but I can also easily adjust to fit any alternate schedule; whether you need overnight pet care, or any other odd schedule constraints met, I am available. I have lived with my own dog in a variety of different conditions. From being on our own in both houses and apartments, to having a full house of dogs and cats. I am well versed in any additional responsibilities and special care based on living situations, and have no trouble go up and down a few flights of stairs for potty breaks/walks, etc.
“Michayla is fabulous. My pup has a special diet and takes medicine and Michayla always does what is needed. Lou gets excited whenever she comes to care for him. Highly recommend!”

“I can’t recommend Alex enough. She is a wonderful sitter. I had an emergency where my flight was bumped to the next day - Alex was there for our cat and dog. I’ve rebooked her several times and will continue to do so. She takes care of our home, is very communicative and our pets love her.”

“Alex did a fabulous job with our very picky kitty! Very responsive and incredibly helpful with our many requests! Thank you so much for everything Alex and we can’t wait to have you take care of Zelda again!”

“Kimberly was fantastic! We loved receiving her updates and her previous Vet Tech experience made us feel like our kitties were truly in good hands. We will definitely be booking her again!”

“Emily was kind, thorough, attentive to both mine and Kody's needs. Thanks Emily. Starting out, Kody wasn't sure of Emily, even after a meet and greet a month prior. Emily was persistent and able to connect with Kody. I feel like Kody was even walking on the leash better when I returned. Thanks Emily!!!”

“Blair took wonderful care of our dogs and home. She went above and beyond, with last minute changes and a medically complex dog. Would recommend to anyone that is normally reticent to leave their pups behind.”

“We recently entrusted our beloved Pomeranian, Bear, to Sean for the second time, and once again, we couldn't be more pleased with his exceptional service. Sean cared for Bear and our home for a full 10 days, and his attention to detail and level of care were truly impressive. From the moment Sean arrived, it was evident that Bear was in capable hands. Sean's dedication to ensuring Bear's well-being and happiness was unwavering, and it's no surprise that he is consistently in high demand. One aspect of Sean's service that particularly stood out to us was his excellent communication. Throughout Bear's stay, Sean kept us updated with regular messages and sent us pictures, which provided us with peace of mind and reassurance. Additionally, we had several packages delivered during our absence, and Sean, upon our request opened them and keep us informed. As senior pet owners, it's crucial for us to entrust Bear to someone we can rely on completely, and without a doubt, Sean has proven himself to be that person. We have absolute confidence in his abilities as a pet sitter, and we highly recommend him to anyone seeking top-tier care for their furry companions. Thank you, Sean, for your exceptional service and for providing Bear with such a wonderful experience. We look forward to booking with you again in the future.”

About: I have loved being around dogs big or small since I was a little girl! I have been a paid sitter for family friends for the last 2 years. Right out of high school in 2021, I started working for a dog daycare for almost a year and it was my favorite job ever! I can’t wait to meet your fur babies! I am a hairstylist and I am self employed so I make my own schedule. I work Monday through Thursday 10-7 (sometimes Fridays and Saturdays 10-5). Depending on my client schedule, I can take breaks so I can take your dog(s) out to potty or feed them. I work in Florence, Ky. I can make plenty of time for your pups throughout the week! Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I know pets feel happiest when they can stay in their own home and stick to their normal routine. I’ll carefully follow all care instructions, keep your home clean and secure, and provide regular updates with photos and messages so you can enjoy your time away with peace of mind. I’m patient, attentive, and committed to treating both your home and your pets with the same care and respect I would my own.
About: Hi! I'm Shosuke from Batavia, OH. I've been pet sitting for over 3 years and love spending time with dogs and cats! I have experience in dog sitting, dog walking, administering medicine, and feeding. I currently have a German Shepherd named Cosmos and used to have a Pomeranian named Ponta, so I'm comfortable with pets of all sizes. I'll treat your furry friends like my own! Feel free to send me a message-I'd love to help! I work from home with a super flexible schedule, so taking care of your pup fits right into my daily routine! Since I'm around all day, your pup will get plenty of companionship, fun play breaks, and all the walks they need! Whether at my home or yours, I make sure your pup feels comfortable and truly cared for. I love spending quality time with them, keeping up with their usual routine, and making sure they have a happy, relaxed day!
About: I’ve cared for newborn puppies on multiple occasions, so I’m no stranger to tiny paws and big responsibility. I bring patience, love, and plenty of cuddles to every pet I care for. Caring for pets is part of my normal day-to-day life. I enjoy building my routine around their needs, whether that means morning walks, midday check-ins, or extra cuddle time. My own pets are cared for with a mix of routine, enrichment, and lots of love (okay… maybe a little spoiling). I stay attentive to their needs, moods, and habits, and I bring that same level of care to every pet I sit.
“Ann has always been great with my girls! She watched them a few years ago and has recently returned to keep them again. We will definitely continue using her! She always communicates and sends pictures often!”

“April is truly a dog whisperer! She watched my two Yorkies at my home, and I couldn't be more impressed. One of my dogs, Dawson, has severe separation anxiety and usually takes a long time to trust strangers. To my total shock, it was love at first sight for him—he didn't even care when I left! April took wonderful care of my fur babies and even went above and beyond by leaving my house spotless. Finding someone Dawson trusts is rare, and I’ll definitely be booking April again.”

“This is our second stay with Allie and we always love having her! We had a long trip out of state this time and it was nice to be able to leave our pups and home to someone we can trust. She’s a great communicator, polite, considerate, and great with our dogs. We’ll keep having her back as long as she’ll have us!”

About: Hi! I’m Sydney, and I love working with animals. I’m responsible, caring, and patient, and I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while they’re in my care. I’m comfortable following routines, paying attention to details, and giving each pet the care they need. I do work part-time so I will have some availability throughout the week and on weekends, making it easy to provide check-ins, feeding, playtime, and lots of care for your pets. About: I have dog sitted for close friends and work colleagues during graduate school. I am still new to dog sitting but I take direction very well and I am willing to learn new things and meet new people! I am currently a pharmacy resident and work mainly during the weekdays from 7am-5pm and work every other weekend starting this upcoming July. My availability for June is open during the afternoons and most early morning for weekdays and open on weekends! I make a point to follow instructions to a T, and if there are opportunities to go above and beyond, I will do so. If dog sitting, I make sure to give the utmost attention to your pet while also meeting your expectations. As for house sitting, I like to treat a home as if it were my own: tidy and organized.
“We are new to the Cincinnati area, and finding a new pet sitting can be quite daunting. We are so fortunate to have had AJ take care of our 3 papillons and house for the past week. During the meet and greet, my 3 liked AJ immediately. He is a good communicator and very conscientious. We received several updates, and found our dogs happy and healthy upon our return. He also kept our house very tidy. We will definitely book AJ when we need pet sitting in the future. 5☆”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 1,134 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Point Pleasant. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Point Pleasant walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Point Pleasant maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Point Pleasant choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
