About: Friends and family with pets, I have helped house sit, and take care of their furry family members, even a Gecko at one time. I always love helping! I am currently busy in the mornings during Monday-Friday until 12:30pm, and on Saturday and Sunday until 3pm. After that I am available to work out a time to help with your pet. Every once in a while I am out of town for personal reasons, but I will always communicate when that will be. When I am in my friends home, I always make sure to be respectful of their space and always make sure their dogs or cats are taken care of. I take their dogs out for walks to go potty, and to get their exercise as well. I make sure their cats have a clean litter box, and with both dogs and cats I make sure their water bowl is fresh and full, and feed them if asked to do so.

I’ll follow your pet’s routine, keep them feeling safe and loved, and send plenty of updates and photos to give you peace of mind. Weekday Availability Monday–Friday, I’m available for morning drop‑ins before my work shift. I can also stop by again during my lunch break for quick check‑ins, walks, or cuddles. Evening Care After work, I’m fully available for walks, playtime, cuddles, and any extra attention your pet needs. Weekend Availability Weekends are completely open, so I can accommodate longer visits, flexible scheduling, and more active playtime. Boarding at my home is also available if that’s easier for you and your pet. I have a fully fenced backyard and a park right next to my house, giving pets plenty of space to play, explore, and burn off energy when they stay with me. If I’m caring for your pets in your home, I’ll do everything I can to keep them happy and comfortable. I’ll follow their routine, play with them, and make sure their bellies are full. About: I’ve grown up around pets and have cared for everything from Huskies and Labs to German Shepherds and a variety of cats. Having owned Huskies myself, including one with epilepsy and one with arthritis, and having watched a Lab with megaesophagus, I’m comfortable providing specialized care. I’m also experienced with energetic dogs and understand the importance of routine, exercise, and careful attention. Your pet will receive plenty of care, patience, and love while you’re away, along with fun, engaging activities to keep them happy and comfortable. I am a graduate student at ISU for pet care opportunities to fill my free time on school nights, as well as on weekends. I’ll be in the area for at least the few years, so I’m available consistently and looking to build reliable routines with pets and their owners. I miss my animals back home, and caring for other pets felt like the perfect way to spend my time doing something I genuinely enjoy. I’m happy to provide dependable care, attention, and plenty of love during my off-hours. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as normal and comfortable as possible. I follow all feeding, walking, and medication instructions closely and make sure pets get plenty of attention, exercise, and breaks throughout the day. I’m experienced with energetic dogs and understand the importance of mental stimulation as well as physical activity. I always keep a clean, safe environment and make sure pets feel secure and cared for. I also provide regular updates and photos so owners can feel confident their pets are in good hands.

About: I have for years taken care of dogs, many cats, amphibians, reptiles, and other animals including occasionally on the farm. I love cats and dogs equally, but I have a soft spot for tender care a dog can show to us! I’m great at house sitting too, and I’m a student at ISU! I work part time right now but am very flexible. I can fit house sitting right into my schedule, and dog walking on my days off, or in the evenings. I’d be happy to chat about it. I am very patient and caring with every pet there is. I have had years of taking on and off leashes, making sure dogs are ok and not needing of something, and general care of animals and houses.

About: I have a very active lab and spend plenty of time outside playing and getting out that energy. I also have had dogs for all my life and I am very relaxed so spending time with dogs at home is my favorite. Im self employed so I make my own schedule! Emma is a 12/10!!! Best dog sitter you will ever have. Her communication is immaculate; responds to you within minutes regardless of what’s going on, sends photos of the daily activities, and updates you throughout the day. She took care of my 3 lb and 6 lb dogs that needed a lot of attention and care. She also spent quality time with the dogs (playing and snuggling). She listens to your concerns and follows sitter instructions. She makes leaving your dogs with a stranger stress free. I highly recommended Emma as your next dog sitter!

Darby took great care of our doggo while we were gone and helped us water our lawn. She accepted a last minute booking, took time to meet with us beforehand, and was extremely communicative. She sent updates and pictures each day we were gone. She even took the time wash, dry, and reset a couch blanket our dog got sick on while we were gone. Would love to book with Darby again!

Brooke V. was amazing with our pets and home! Our usual pet sitter had something come up and couldn’t come for our trip’s first five days, this left me in a real dilemma, so I looked through Rover and found Brooke. I can’t express how wonderful she was with our cat and dogs. This was my first time splitting a pet setter for an extended trip. Brooke did everything I ask and left notes for the old sitter on how it went with her and was ready to speck with him if needed. And the house was just as I left it when he arrived. She shared photos of my pets for all five days, much better than my usual sitter. I will be using Brooke in the future! She really went above and beyond to make my husband and I feel comfortable with a situation we had never been in before and treated our pets so well! I highly recommend her! You will get the care you want for your pets and your home! Thank you Brooke, you’re a gem!

FAQs for House Sitting - Pocatello

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Pocatello on Rover is $38.85 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 52 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Pocatello. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Pocatello walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Pocatello maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Pocatello choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
