Both of my kitties love Marisa! While I was out of town on a business trip I had her look after my boys. At first I was a little worried since I had not been away from home for that long of a period since I got one of my kitties. Needless to say, I didn’t have to worry about a thing. She took great care of them, and even though both of my boys can be shy, they were following her around like a shadow. I received tons of photos and she did a great job with leaving detailed check-in for me to check up with. I cannot say enough about how comfortable I felt with her looking after my boys.

Georgeanne did a thorough job when dropping in for my two dogs. She offered to pick up the poop in the yard and also helped take care of our packages/mail that arrived. She sent updates to help keep me at ease while I was away. She was super sweet and friendly to work with and my pups were happy campers when we came back!

Rosanna was prompt and always OnTime. She really was great with our cats. One of them, Max is asthmatic. He really tries to avoid getting his meds, inhalant and oral liquids, administered. She was able to capture him from his hiding spots, and give him the help he needed. She sent us detailed reports and fun pictures of kitties being cared for. She did so much more than we expected and will definitely use her again should the need arise. Thank you Rosanna and River Rick and Dara Fenney

I highly recommend Alicia to watch your pet. She was so patient and kind to our elderly dog. She is reliable and trustworthy. Alicia has a true love for animals, which is evident in the gentle way she interacted with our dog. Our dog is very anxious, but she was able to make him feel relaxed. He always seemed at ease around her. This made us feel comfortable when we left him. We were able to enjoy our vacations, because we knew our dog was in good hands.

About: I have nurtured animals all my life. Numerous dogs on my family's ranch along with horses, cows and chickens were my playmates growing up. Our most recent dog was a wonderful Golden Retriever who lived to be 17. We cherished every day with him. We recently sold our business and my wife works from home. We have our nieces here in the morning and evening during the school week. I am available pretty much any time. In the summer I do work in our orchard but that can be scheduled around the pet care. We have a large orchard where we can take your dog for walks. The house is a large ranch and your pet can have the run of the house.

Amber was the perfect sitter for my three cats! I've used others in the past but the quality of care for her price point is unmatched. She was very respectful of my home and went above & beyond to ensure Bella, Giselle, and Cinders were loved on and well cared for. Amber is also very reliable, communicative, and flexible. About: Growing up we had 3 cats, all of which lived over 20 years. I currently have a 10 year old cat who we got when she was a kitten, an 8 year old rescued pit mix we've had for 5 years, and a 3 year old Aussie mix rescue that we've had for about a year and a half. I've also had a great dane who unfortunately passed from leukemia. I'm comfortable with cats and dogs of all sizes and breeds. I can administer pills and ear drops, and adhere to any special diets and regimens, but I am not comfortable with injections, grooming, or other health related procedures at this time. I work full time as a senior accountant and I'm also returning to school and have a family, so during the week my availability to drop in is pretty limited to very early morning and evenings unless it is a day I'm working from home. For house sitting, overnights during the week are not a problem as long as I can get my kid to school and myself to work. I will be available most weekends for house sitting and drop ins. Unfortunately, my two dogs only like each other (and they tolerate the cat), so we cannot board any pets in our home. I believe pets are a part of the family, so mine are treated like children, and yours would receive the same level of care and attentiveness. I regularly trust my Rover sitters to keep my pets safe and I would be absolutely gutted if anything happened to my pets, so I know exactly how much you are trusting me with the well-being of your animals, and that is not a responsibility I take lightly.

About: My Pet Care Journey: A Labor of Love The Beginning My journey in pet care began many years ago, driven by a deep-seated love for animals and a desire to make a difference in their lives. Over the years, this passion has blossomed into a fulfilling and enriching experience, involving not only the care of my own pets but also fostering numerous others in need. My Pack of Seven Currently, I am the proud owner of seven wonderful dogs. Each one has its unique personality, quirks, and needs, making every day an adventure. My daily routine with them involves a mix of feeding, exercise, training, and lots of playtime. Ensuring that they receive the right balance of nutrition, physical activity, and mental stimulation is crucial for their well-being. Fostering Over 25 Dogs In addition to my own pets, I have had the privilege of fostering over 25 dogs. Fostering is a profoundly rewarding experience, albeit challenging at times. Each dog comes with its own story, often involving past traumas or medical issues that require special attention and care. Helping these dogs transition from a place of uncertainty and fear to one of trust and happiness is immensely gratifying. Seeing them move on to their forever homes, happy and healthy, is a feeling like no other. Certified Pet Trainer and AKC Good Citizen Evaluator My journey took a professional turn when I became a certified pet trainer and an American Kennel Club (AKC) Good Citizen evaluator. This certification has allowed me to refine my training techniques and help other pet owners develop strong, positive relationships with their dogs. As an AKC Good Citizen evaluator, I take pride in assessing and certifying dogs that exhibit good manners at home and in the community, promoting responsible pet ownership. Proficiency in General Care and Medication Administration One of the key aspects of pet care that I’ve mastered over the years is administering medications and providing general care. Whether it's giving pills, applying topical treatments, or managing chronic conditions, I have become proficient in ensuring that my dogs receive the best possible medical care. This skill has been particularly valuable when fostering dogs with specific health issues, allowing me to provide them with the necessary care to recover and thrive. Memorable Moments and Challenges There have been countless memorable moments throughout my pet care journey. From the joy of a successful adoption to the simple, everyday happiness of watching my dogs play together, these moments are the highlights of my life. Of course, there have also been challenges, such as dealing with behavioral issues or health crises. However, each challenge has been a learning experience, further deepening my understanding and commitment to pet care. Tips and Tricks Through my experiences, I’ve learned several tips and tricks that I use regularly: 1. Consistency is Key: Whether in training or routine care, consistency helps dogs understand what is expected of them. 2. Patience and Compassion: Every dog has its pace of learning and adapting. Patience and compassion go a long way in building trust and a strong bond. 3. Positive Reinforcement: Rewarding good behavior encourages dogs to repeat it. This is a fundamental principle in training. 4. Regular Health Checks: Keeping up with regular veterinary visits and health checks ensures that any potential issues are caught early. 5. Tailored Nutrition and Exercise: Each dog is unique, and their diet and exercise regimen should be tailored to their specific needs and health conditions. Caring for dogs has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my life. From owning and training my pack of seven to fostering and rehabilitating over 25 dogs, each experience has enriched my understanding of these wonderful animals. As a certified pet trainer and AKC Good Citizen evaluator, I am committed to promoting responsible pet ownership and helping others enjoy the same joy and fulfillment that comes from caring for dogs Balancing Pet Care with a Full-Time Job: A Harmonious Routine My Daily Schedule Balancing a full-time job with the demands of pet care for seven dogs might seem daunting, but with a structured and flexible routine, it becomes a seamless part of my life. Early Mornings: A Fresh Start My day begins early, ensuring that my dogs get a good start to their day. I wake up around 5:30 AM, allowing ample time for morning routines. This includes: 1. Feeding: Each dog has its own specific dietary needs, so I prepare and serve their meals accordingly. 2. Morning Walks: A brisk walk or play session in the backyard helps expend some of their energy, setting a positive tone for the day. 3. Training and Socialization: Morning is an excellent time for brief training sessions and socialization exercises, reinforcing good behavior and strengthening our bond. Work Hours: Flexibility is Key My job is conveniently located close to my home, allowing me to maintain a flexible schedule that accommodates my pets' needs. 1. Lunch Break Visits: I typically head home during my lunch break. This break serves as an essential check-in, allowing me to: · Quick Walks: Take the dogs out for a quick walk or let them play in the yard. · Feeding and Hydration: Ensure they have fresh water and, if necessary, provide a small meal or snack. · Medication: Administer any required medications, especially for dogs with specific health needs. 2. Flexible Hours: My job allows some flexibility in my hours, which means I can adjust my schedule for any urgent pet-related needs, such as veterinary appointments or unexpected health issues. Evenings: Quality Time Together After work, I dedicate my evenings to spending quality time with my dogs. 1. Exercise: Another round of exercise is crucial, whether it's a long walk, a visit to the dog park, or an engaging play session. 2. Training: Evening training sessions are a great way to wind down and reinforce good behaviors learned throughout the day. 3. Relaxation: We wind down together, often with some cuddle time on the couch while I catch up on reading or watch TV. This is also a good time for grooming and health checks. Weekends: Extra Attention and Care Weekends offer more time to devote to my dogs and foster pets. 1. Extended Walks and Outings: Longer walks, hikes, or trips to new locations provide great stimulation and adventure. 2. Advanced Training: More in-depth training sessions help with complex behaviors or advanced tricks. 3. Socialization Events: Attending dog-friendly events or meetups helps with their social skills and provides variety in their routine. Fostering with Flexibility Fostering dogs adds another layer of responsibility, but the flexible nature of my work schedule makes it manageable. I can: 1. Adjust My Hours: Shift my work hours as needed to accommodate new foster arrivals or those with special needs. 2. Provide Consistent Care: Ensure that foster dogs receive the same level of care and attention as my own pets, aiding in their transition to forever homes. Conclusion Integrating pet care into my busy schedule is a balancing act that requires careful planning and flexibility. My proximity to work and the ability to adjust my hours are significant advantages, allowing me to meet the needs of my seven dogs and foster pets effectively. This harmonious routine ensures that all my pets receive the attention, care, and love they deserve, while I maintain my professional responsibilities. It's a labor of love that brings immense joy and fulfillment to my life every single day. Comprehensive Pet Care at Home and Clients' Homes Home Environment Caring for pets in my home involves a well-structured and versatile setup to ensure the safety and happiness of all the dogs, both my own and those I look after for clients. Home Setup 1. Separation Options: My home is equipped with numerous dog crates and gates. This allows for: · Safe introductions between new dogs and my own pack. · Managing different temperaments and energy levels. · Providing quiet, private spaces for rest or recovery when needed. 2. Outdoor Space: · Inground Fence System: This offers a secure boundary for dogs to play freely while being safely contained. · Physically Fenced Dog Yard: An additional layer of security where dogs can enjoy outdoor activities and be separated if needed, ensuring compatibility and safety during playtime. 3. Socialization: My dogs, ranging from 13 lbs to 82 lbs, are well-socialized and friendly, creating a welcoming environment for new pets. This helps foster dogs or clients' pets feel comfortable and integrate smoothly. Family Involvement 1. Children: My two boys, aged 3 and 6, are accustomed to being around dogs. They are kind and gentle, contributing positively to the dogs' socialization. 2. Husband: As a fellow dog lover, my husband actively participates in the daily care and ensures each dog receives attention and care. Daily Routine 1. Morning Routine: · Feeding: Each dog's dietary needs are met with individualized meals. · Exercise: Morning walks or play sessions to start the day with physical activity. · Training: Short training sessions to reinforce good behavior and provide mental stimulation. 2. Daytime Care: · Lunch Breaks: My job's close proximity allows me to return home during lunch breaks for quick check-ins, walks, and administering any necessary medications. · Flexible Work Hours: This flexibility ensures that I can adjust my schedule to meet any urgent pet-related needs. 3. Evening Routine: · Exercise and Play: Another round of exercise, such as long walks or playtime in the yard. · Training: Evening sessions to reinforce commands and behaviors. · Relaxation: Quality time with the dogs, including cuddles and grooming, to wind down the day. Weekends Weekends provide more time for extended activities: 1. Long Walks and Outings: Exploring local walking paths and parks for variety and adventure. 2. Advanced Training: More in-depth sessions for complex behaviors or new tricks. 3. Social Events: Attending dog-friendly events to enhance socialization. Caring for Clients' Pets Providing exceptional care for clients' pets involves understanding their unique needs and ensuring a safe, comfortable environment, whether at my home or theirs. In-Home Care for Clients' Pets 1. Initial Assessment: Understanding each pet’s temperament, health needs, and compatibility with my dogs. 2. Integration: Gradual introduction to my pack, with separation options to ensure smooth transitions. 3. Routine: Following a consistent routine tailored to each pet’s needs, including feeding, exercise, and medication. At Clients' Homes 1. Initial Meeting: Gathering information on the pet’s routine, special instructions, and any specific needs. 2. Home Visits: · Frequency: Scheduled visits as per the client’s needs. · Activities: Walks, feeding, medication administration, and playtime. · Safety: Ensuring the home is pet-proofed and following any specific safety measures provided by the owners. 3. Communication: Providing regular updates to clients for peace of mind about their pet's well-being. Special Considerations 1. Behavioral Needs: Accommodating different temperaments, from shy and anxious to energetic and playful. 2. Health Requirements: Administering medications and managing health conditions proficiently. 3. Emergency Preparedness: Having plans in place for quick veterinary access if needed. Transportation 1. Large SUV: Equipped to safely transport multiple kennels, ensuring secure and comfortable travel for trips to walking paths or vet appointments. Conclusion Balancing the care of my own pets and clients' pets requires careful planning, flexibility, and a deep understanding of animal behavior. My home is well-equipped to handle multiple dogs with ample space, separation options, and a supportive family. Providing high-quality care at clients' homes involves understanding their pets' unique needs and ensuring a consistent and loving routine. This comprehensive approach ensures that all pets under my care, whether at home or away, receive the best possible attention and love.
