Tony was great. He took care of our very stubborn dog while we were out of town for Christmas. He was punctual and communicated with us after every visit. He also left us yummy cookies!

I had Carla come let my dog out when I had a busy day. It happened to be raining so she took him on a walk and for a car ride. She spent much more time with him than I had anticipated and he loved it! It was great to know that I could go to work and he was being well taken care of and wasn't stuck in his kennel all day!

Rosanna was prompt and always OnTime. She really was great with our cats. One of them, Max is asthmatic. He really tries to avoid getting his meds, inhalant and oral liquids, administered. She was able to capture him from his hiding spots, and give him the help he needed. She sent us detailed reports and fun pictures of kitties being cared for. She did so much more than we expected and will definitely use her again should the need arise. Thank you Rosanna and River Rick and Dara Fenney

About: I’m an 18-year-old pet sitter who has grown up caring for animals my entire life, including fish, hamsters, cats, and dogs. I’ve independently managed feeding, cleaning, exercise, and overall care for my pets while balancing school, athletics, and work. Through this experience, I’ve learned to be responsible, attentive, and patient, always making sure animals are safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I treat every pet with the same care and respect I give my own. I’ve taken care of my neighbors dog during the day or throughout the night, watched my grandparents cats and dogs by stopping by periodically, and brought my friends dog to the groomer and vet. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine because I’ve grown up caring for animals my whole life. On a daily basis, I make time for feeding, fresh water, cleaning, playtime, and monitoring each pet’s behavior and health. Weekly routines include deeper cleaning, grooming, and making sure pets get consistent exercise and attention. I manage this around school and athletics. I care for pets by following a consistent routine that meets each animal’s individual needs, whether in my home or a client’s home. I make sure pets are fed on schedule, have fresh water at all times, and receive plenty of attention, playtime, and exercise. I carefully follow any instructions provided, including dietary needs, medication, or specific routines, to keep pets comfortable and stress-free. This is just the same as I do at home everyday for my own pets!😊

Ayla was a great sitter for my dog and senior cat for a long weekend. She came for an interview before the booking where she was pleasant to talk to and my dog warmed up to her a bit. During the booking, she took great care of our babies. Her communication was excellent. Will definitely book again.

About: I have been taking care of dogs since I was eight years old. I had my own dog at this age until I turned 20 years old. I have also taken care of my friends dogs, or cats. This has made me be comfortable with feeding, walking, taking care of animals. I am reliable, timely, and really do love animals. I know animals are family and I will make sure to treat your animal with care and kindness. I have lots of time to be able to look after your animals. As of right now I am available Monday through Friday 9am - 9pm. My weekends fluctuate, so some weekends I may be available others I may not be, but I am very flexible. If you need a day on a weekend I am open to the conversation. I care for pet's by the instructions of the owner leaves. Also making sure that the pet is in a safe environment, this being when we go for walks, always making sure the pets leash is secure and being aware of my surroundings. Everyone has hesitation when allowing someone into their home. I was also fearful of my dog, border collie, being unfriendly due to her previous behavior. I am so happy and grateful that Melissa made us feel at ease. She let our dog slowly come to her and made her feel at ease, which truly was a fear of mine. She was patient and calm with her. I thought my dog was going to bite her because she is so defensive. I highly recommend the greet and meet for your dog before hand. Seeing them together before we left the next weekend made me feel more comfortable. I am highly recommending Melissa as your caretaker while you are gone. We received photos and videos to see their interactions. She spent time with her. She didnt just come over and let her out and left. She sat in the grass with her petting her, all on video. She suggested it and I am glad she did. I felt like she was my neice so comfortable and warm. Don't hesitate your dog will be happy to not be alone and Melissa is excellent! I will use her service again soon and from now on. Thank you Melissa for the wonderful love and compassion you have for dogs, it shows! ❤️

About: Whether it's time for a pet session or for the zoomies, I love engaging with and getting to know dogs of all types and personalities. I grew up with 2 dogs, a Labradoodle and Beagle for whom I was the primary caretaker. I found great joy in caring for my dogs who had very different personalities, and I learned a lot about how to handle a multi-pet home. I have continued to grow my knowledge in multi-pet home dynamics with the combination of my household and my partner's. We now live happily with 1 cat and 2 dogs. I'm excited to lend a helping hand to other households who are navigating routine with their fur babies. I’m primarily available during the day Tues-Fri as I set my own work schedule. My animals at home are well trained and flexible, so coming to care for yours is a welcome addition to my daily pet care routine. I can occasionally make Mondays and weekends work as needed. I respect every pet owner as the expert on their own pet. I am happy to follow any and all instructions to give your animal the best pet care I can and provide a sense of normalcy and routine for your beloved pets.

About: Hi there! I would love to help you take care of your puppers. I have two cats of my own, and am just not home consistently enough to have a dog of my own. I have fostered several special needs dogs over the years, and have assisted at a few rescues in the care of their adoptable dogs. I have helped at the shelters in my area, but am looking for a way to spend some more consistent time with dogs. I work in a retail environment and every time a dog is in our store, my associates are paging me telling me so that I can come say hi. Thank you for considering me, I am happy to answer any questions you may have!

About: I’ve cared for a variety of pets of all ages, from energetic puppies to independent cats. I am comfortable caring for senior pets, ensuring they get the proper attention and care they need- as long as instructions can be provided to maintain routines and medical needs. I treat every pet as if they were my own, providing gentle care, companionship, and a safe environment. Wether it’s keeping up with a puppy, a shy cat, or providing extra comfort for an aging pet, I would be honored to be trusted with your furry family members. I currently am a full time Software Engineering student at Loyola University! Currently, most of my coursework is online other than Tuesdays and Thursdays. This limits my availability on those days for additional pet care. My flexible online schedule allows me to dedicate plenty of time to care for pets throughout the week, ensuring they receive attention and care they deserve. I can easily accommodate feeding schedules, playtimes, and check-ins, making pet care a natural and enjoyable part of my routine. I provide a safe, comfortable, and pet-friendly environment for all animals in my care. My home has a large yard with fencing where I can comfortably walk one’s pet outdoors while remaining safe. I have two cats and one dog in the home, so I do carefully manage introductions and limit interactions if needed to ensure all pets are comfortable. For dogs, I can crate or pen if needed, providing them with personal space, or allow them to roam safely on a leash outside while ensuring they are well cared for inside. For cats, I prioritize an stress-free environment, providing personal space and ensuring quiet areas to retreat to. I understand feline body languages and can understand shy, playful, or independent cats to ensure their comfort.

We couldn’t be happier to have found Sarah to take care of our dog and cat. They instantly felt comfortable with her during our meet and greet, and so did we. Our Great Dane who is very slow to accept new people took to her right away. Sarah is perceptive and understands animal behavior. She took excellent care of our pets, doing everything as we would. She spent time with them, giving them lots of love, and pampered them with their favorite treats. She kept us informed with summaries of each of their visits along with adorable pictures of them each time. She made our getaway stress-free and definitely went above expectations. We highly recommend Sarah!

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Bristol stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Bristol. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
