About: I have loved and cared for dogs for over 30 years. I have taken care of other peoples pets for over 10 years. I love to interact with animals and provide exceptional general care ❤️🧡🏳️🌈 I am pretty flexible and available unless already booked through my other house sitting services. We can find a time that works! for a meet and greet. It would be your home, they would get to remain comfortable and free of exposure to other animals with a variety of issues from a loving and kind professional.
“Enzo made a new friend! Raven was great. We would definitely recommend her services. We felt confident and comfortable with Enzo in Raven’s care, which was really important to us.”

“Teaghan took excellent care of our dog. She communicates well and is very responsive. She sent pictures and kept in good contact while she was at our home. It was our first time using Rover and we are so pleased with our experience with Teaghan!”

About: I have dog sat multiple dogs at one time for as long as a week long stay. I am very active and enjoy outside walks, and I am able to keep up with fast, strong, and heavy pets. I have always loved animals and am happy to sit and pet a dog or cat for hours. I am a full time student with a low commitment part time job looking for a way to fill my time with work I am passionate about which is spending time with animals and helping owners! I prioritize integrity, safety, and communication. My goal is to keep pets safe and owner’s minds at ease. I enjoy quality time with pets and want to make your life easier!
“We had just gotten our puppy and needed a sitter to watch him two days later. Cassie was fantastic; she had no issues watching him in our home and was even nice enough to bring him back to her home where she has a fenced in backyard! She provided photos and updates throughout the day and we will definitely book her again!”

“We loved having Brianna watch our large family of creatures! We have a dog, 2 cats, a bearded dragon and a tortoise. She was great with all of them on our extended vacation and we will definitely be booking with her again.”

“Carly was AMAZING! It was our first time having a pet sitter stay in our house and it was for an extended period of time. Finding a reliable and trustworthy sitter was my main concern for our trip, but Carley alleviated all of my concerns. She sent regular photos and updates, and we came back to our home in perfect condition. All of the animals love her and I already have her booked for our next trip!”

About: I got my first dog in 1982. My first cat in 2021. I learned to walk, play with, feed and love my dog, Cara. Then in 1997 another came into my life and again I cared for her basic needs but next I learned to watch and listen to this one... and trained her in tricks and solid obedience. Next I started house sitting for sick old dog's who needed 24/7 attention. This was for Maureen Martin’s dog Higgins and her cat, Rio, in San Diego for 1999 - 2000. Later I found myself caring for so many people's dogs and cats, the last being in Westchester New York 2 weeks ago for Eliza, a black lab belonging to Mr and Mrs Brian S. Also at home I adopted Macy who has cancer as a kitten. She was treated and she is 3 years in remission now bc I played with her and brushed her and gently got her eating again through the chemo program. My reputation grew as a good cat babysitter and dog walker and caregiver. I am gentle, patient, firm and have strong communication with dogs and I speak the language of cats. I also am in very good athletic condition so I can offer your dog and cat a strong enough dose of energy and fun that your dog's anxiety about you not being there can subside. Your cats and dogs miss you when you leave them for work and important events. But I will fill in the gaps so they feel a warm friend is looking after them until you return home. I care for my own cat. Doing the litter daily and feeding her in the morning and evening with some in the middle of the day. She has cozy places to sleep and toys to play with to stay active. I interact with her and brush her to keep her in an overall healthy and good mental state. Playtime is a real winner with most pets. Those who are disabled or needing a different kind of care will get warmth and gentility from Me. If they need meds, I will do it in a caring way. If they need to be vigorous and enjoy companionship time in your absence, I am there to be their protector, buddy and server.
“This was my first time using Rover and I feel blessed to have met Cierra! She was beyond wonderful with my 8-yr old pug. She provided great reports and pictures throughout the day and reached out whenever she had questions. She stayed at my house over thanksgiving weekend and gave my pup all the love and extra attention he’s used to getting. Cierra is kind and caring and resourceful; she takes her job very seriously and excels at it. I will call her again for overnights and for shorter visits. I could not be happier and am grateful to have met her.”

“Breanna was a huge help! She was able to accommodate me last minute as my sitter for the week fell thru. Communication was quick and easy, and her daily updates with pictures assured me that my pets were in great hands. My dog and 2 cats loved their time with her, and I would recommend her to anyone to care for their pets!”

“Sophia was great! 10 out of 10 would recommend for sitting your pet! We were able to meet her before she stayed at our house! This was our first time leaving our 2 dogs for a few days to head to vacation and she was always sending us updated on how they were doing! We will be rebooking with Sophia for our next vacation to stay with our 2 dogs!”

“It's always hard to leave the old boy, but Marie was outstanding and kept Bentley safe and warm as well as providing a constant presence. Marie is a neat and conscientious house guest and I would not hesitate to ask her back again.”
“Josaphine was a fantastic dogsitter for our anxious, sensitive pitbull. She stayed with Lola during 4th of July week, which can be a lot for anxious dogs. We were so grateful to have Josaphine caring for Lola during this time. She also sent nightly updates and left our house neat and tidy. We will definitely use her again for future trips!”

“Provided care for my dogs while I was away and gave me peace of mind knowing they had someone looking after them. Communication was great, and I appreciated having someone dependable to help during my time away.”

About: I have owned dogs for 40 years. I just recently lost my little Maltese. He was 16 years old and my best friend. Your dog will be treated like a grandchild when they are with me. One of my friends said that when she dies she wants to come back as one of my pets! I have the time and the experience to take care of your dog. I will try to accommodate your scheduling needs. If your dog requires a special diet that is not a problem. Once a week I roasted a chicken for my little guy. I just love their company. I look forward to the opportunity of spending time with them, playing, going for walks, and always having cuddle time. The house is just not the same without a dog around. I am retired so I have the flexibility to accommodate your booking and scheduling needs. No need to panic if you are delayed picking up your best friend. I adjust the day according to your dog's schedule. Your pet takes top priority. Since I only board one dog at a time (or 2 within the same family) your dog has my undivided attention all day. If your dog likes to cuddle on the couch or sleeps in your bed that is what he/she can do at my house. Before I accept a booking I require a Meet and Greet to determine if we are a good fit. I prefer small hypoallergenic breeds that do not shed. Your dog must be house broken, bathed prior to boarding, current on all vaccines, and must have had a flea and tic treatment. I also request that anything you bring into my house is clean and laundered, like blankets and beds, etc. Your pet will never be outside unattended or off leash. Your dog becomes a member of my family during their stay and will be cared for like my own. That's a promise!
“Audrey was wonderful with our dog, Roux. We had never left her with anyone besides family before, and were a little nervous. Audrey made sure she was comfortable, and felt safe and loved while we were on vacation. She sent us pictures whenever we needed them, because we missed her since we had never been away from her for so long before. We came home to a very happy dog! We would highly recommend Audrey.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Plainville
We had a wonderful experience with Kyle. We needed someone responsible, reliable, and experienced "dog person" to take care of our puppy Colby, and Kyle was it. Kyle is pleasant and easy to talk to. He is excellent at communicating. Loved our daily update and picture of our puppy. Kyle gave me peace of mind, making our time away even more enjoyable. The house was in great shape, too! I would 100% highly recommend. Fondly, The Giddings Family
Cierra took care of our cat and dog and we found them very happy and well taken care of once we got home. Our place was left neat and clean, she did an awesome job and was able to give our dog her needed oral medication along with her eye drops without incident. She sent many pictures and updates during her stay and that helped ease our minds.

Jessica was a great, reliable sitter for our two kittens while we were gone over the holidays. She was communicative with updates and pictures and left the apartment exactly how it was before we left. We will definitely use Jessica again in the future when we need help with our boys!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Plainville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Plainville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Plainville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Plainville. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
