“Fatima is our first choice for a dog sitter. She’s dependable and sensitive to our older dog’s needs. She has great communication skills and keeps us updated with pictures and recaps while we’re away.”

“Katharyn was incredible. She watched our dog and cat and sent tons of photos, was a dream with communication and left the house in perfect shape when we came home. I was so nervous because this was my first time leaving the pets and house, but after day 1 I was at complete ease and able to focus on my work trip! Will definitely rebook!”

“This was our first time using Jessi and she was amazing, we were updated with over 60 pictures of our dog throughout with detailed updates and she left our house spotless, thank you so much Jessi we really appreciate you”

“Jackie was an excellent cat sitter for my cat, Ramona! She sent lots of pictures and updates, and she was very patient while Ramona warmed up to her. I came back to an extremely clean apartment along with a happy, healthy, and well-loved cat. Thank you, Jackie!”

“Thank you Jenna!! Jenna is amazing - she stayed in our home for five days and watched our sweet dog Koa while we were on vacation. When she came for the initial meet and greet she was so personable, asked great questions, went on a walk with me and Koa, and made us feel so positive about leaving him with her. She took amazing care of our home while we were away, sent updates and pictures of Koa, made sure to give him his medication, and we could tell when we got home that she took exceptional care of him and stuck to his schedules - he was happy and healthy! We also have a bunny and kitty that our son stopped by and took care of, but Jenna made sure to give them lots of attention too:) I HIGHLY recommend Jenna to care for your pets and home - she is reliable, trustworthy, and seamless to work with.”

“Ava did a great job watching Roshe while we were out! She sent us plenty of pictures and helped us keep Roshe to his normal routine. Roshe really enjoyed his time with her, and we look forward to having her watch him again”

“Denise was AMAZING! She was so patient with my shy senior Nikita. The two of them bonded much quicker than I had anticipated and it made me so happy to know that my pup was in good hands. I will definitely be booking with Denise again as she’s become a member of Nikita’s circle! Thank you big time Denise - you are truly incredible.”

“Benjamin did a really great job taking care of my dog. He arrived on time everyday. He took my dog on really nice walks - which my dog lives for :) He watched out for my dog, especially during the air quality alert days. That helped so much. Also, he took out my dog for a walk everyday before I arrived home so that I could rest when I came home. That was so helpful. That made such a difference. I highly recommend Benjamin.”

“Laine was amazing, she is very kind and trust worthy pet sitter! We came back to a very clean house. I appreciate that she watched our cats in spite of last minute request. I would like to ask her to watch our cats again.”

“Stephanie was absolutely amazing! She was very friendly, professional and a joy to work with! I knew that she would take great care of Arlo while I was gone, and from what I can tell he had a great time with her! She was very attentive to his schedule and I appreciate that she stopped by for a meet and greet with my fur baby. I highly recommend her services and will be booking with her again!”

“Hope was excellent with house sitting our 2 dogs. She is a strong communicator and sent multiple updates per day. We could tell our dogs liked having her there and appreciate the care she provided.”

About: I’ve cared for and have loved dogs for the past 20 years. I have experience with dogs and with diabetes and other special care needs. I’m currently a hybrid worker with a flexible schedule allowing me to work from home anytime. I will communicate with owners if there is any reason I would need to be away from their pet for more than 4 hours. I currently do not have any pets. I live in a second story condo with plenty of walking paths in the neighborhood and a dog park close by. My house is a calm environment for anxious pets.
“Jordan was very communicative, willing to do a meet, and greet, and helpful with our dog’s medical needs while watching her. She provided frequent updates with pictures and gave us peace of mind while away. Thank you, Jordan!!”

“Crystal did a really good job taking care of my dog. He has much energy and is always curious. She took him on several beautiful, long, peaceful walks. He loves exploring new places and meeting new people. Crystal took care of all of that. When I returned home, he was happy, he was tired and he was smiling. I am so happy. I highly recommend Crystal.”

About: Hello! I love dogs! I’ve had two dogs in the past, one dog for 8 years and one for 6 years. Since my most recent dog passed away, that's opened the opportunity for me to watch peoples dogs. I’ve volunteered at the Huron Valley Humane Society. Completed dog walking training, blue dot training and problem dog not allowed out with the general public yet training. If you want your dog not only watched but showered with love, I’m a great choice. I work from home, so have great flexibility. Having a schedule that fits your dogs shouldn’t be a problem. Hope you find what you are looking for. Your dog will be showered with love. Happy to have them sleep in the same bed if they are allowed. I love making dogs feel special.
“Jaime house sat our cats over a holiday weekend. He was amazing with our cats and sent us plenty of updates, and he did a great job at making sure he understood what our cats needed. He was incredibly respectful of our home as well. We felt very comfortable knowing our cats had someone like Jaime spending time with them, playing with them, and giving some great pets and cuddles. He even sent us a photo of our anxious cat curled up on his lap his first night at our house! We would not hesitate to book with Jaime again.”

“Erin did a really great job taking care of Tusk. He is high-energy. He loves meeting new people, new dogs and going to new places. She took care of all of that. He was so happy when I returned home. It was so nice to see he happily sleeping after a day of play.”

“Rafael goes above and beyond for Miles and always makes us feel comfortable with frequent updates and pictures we don’t have to ask for. Our pup enjoys hanging out with him and we’re very happy to have found such a reliable and compassionate sitter.”

Nicole stayed with my dog Boggs for a long stay while I was out of town. Aside from her amazing communication and status updates, I could tell Boggs was super well cared for in all ways. She made sure he was not only fed, watered, and walked, but mentally stimulated and loved on. I came to him happy, relaxed, and in great mental and emotional shape. Nicole is the best!

We couldn't have asked for a better person to spend the week with our fur babies than Yareli! 😊 She sent us regular updates of their playtime, walks, and lots of cuddles. We came home to a house that was even cleaner than when we left it, a vase of fresh flowers, and the sweetest thank you card from her. We are so happy to have found such a wonderful, dependable person and hope to have her back in the future! ❤️

Emily is the best sitter I’ve EVER had in ten years of pet ownership! She stayed at our house for 2 and a half weeks taking care of our dog and cat while we were on our honeymoon. Emily truly went above and beyond in every way to make sure our babies got their needs met, including keeping our terrified terrier mix safe and comforted when a tornado hit Ann Arbor in the middle of the night. Our pup also had an unexpectedly bad reaction to some construction work on our street, and Emily made extra efforts to calm his nerves and adapt to a new medication regiment on the fly. She also sent us regular updates that clearly demonstrated how much both pets had bonded with her, and was prompt and conscientious whenever any issues came up. I would not hesitate to recommend Emily’s services to anyone seeking dog or cat care.

Maura is exceptional on every count. The dogs (including our senior Black Lab) loved her when we met her at our initial meeting . She sent regular updates and photos. We lost electricity for over 24 hours and she handled it with patience and professionalism, getting all the items needed to keep herself and our 2 dogs warm and happy. She managed 3 meals and meds for our older boy and got them on an impressive schedule that we hope to maintain. Her knowledge and understanding of caring for animals, and her problem solving skills are remarkable. We were so fortunate to have found her and hope to utilize her services in the near future! Any pets will be in the most capable hands with her.

June is amazing. My dogs are high demand dogs, with many special needs and June could handle that amazing. I came back home with them calm as she made her best to keep their routines followed. She kept good communication and made me aware about any issues or questions. I really appreciate June for her such good care

Rachel was great to Lucy and Stella. They may be disappointed we are back. Rachel was attentive to their needs and kept me updated on any issues that arose. She reached out to confirm our return time to ensure there was not a large gap of time between her departure and our return. The home was left very clean. We will definitely be reaching out to Rachel again for future travel dates.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Pittsfield Township walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Pittsfield Township maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Pittsfield Township choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
