Nicole was absolutely wonderful! She was great with our two Goldendoodles who tend to be anxious without us around. She was very communicative and sent frequent photos and updates which eased our minds. We will definitely be booking her again!

Fatima was great with our needy senior dog while we were away. She gave lots of updates with photos and let us know how it was going throughout the weekend. Our house was in great shape when we returned and even our very shy cat seemed to warm up by the end. Would definitely recommend Fatima to anyone looking for in-home sitting and we hope to use her again in the future!

Erin really went above and beyond for us. Just before we were about to take a long planned vacation, one of our kitties came down with a virus and required multiple medications, including IV fluids. We were so grateful to have found her profile. She is an expert cat sitter, with the background as a vet tech and was able to administer all the medications as needed while we were gone. Also, she kept our house was in tiptop shape. Best of all, when we came home and our sick kitty was back to being himself. We couldn’t have asked for more. Although we don’t have dogs, I’m sure that Erin provides the same expert care for them as well. We will be having her back for sure.

Jaime house sat our cats over a holiday weekend. He was amazing with our cats and sent us plenty of updates, and he did a great job at making sure he understood what our cats needed. He was incredibly respectful of our home as well. We felt very comfortable knowing our cats had someone like Jaime spending time with them, playing with them, and giving some great pets and cuddles. He even sent us a photo of our anxious cat curled up on his lap his first night at our house! We would not hesitate to book with Jaime again.

Jennifer did a great job taking care of our dog and three cats while we were out of town for three days. Eleanor (our dog) has a history of not eating for 1-2 days when we're out of town, but she was clearly comfortable enough with Jennifer, that she ate all her meals! Jennifer's daily reports were thorough and made us feel like she was taking good and careful care of our animals. Lastly, she was very easy to communicate with: she was very clear about her schedule, etc. I highly recommend Jher, and have every intention of booking her in the future.

About: Hello! Our family loves dogs. We've had two dogs in the past, one dog for 8 years and one for 6 years, the latter having recently passed away. In between having them, my wife has fostered a half dozen dogs from the Huron Valley Humane Society that just needed a break to unwind. Your dog would get three times the love compared to just one person taking care of your dog, as both me, my stay at home wife, and my 9th grade daughter would be taking care of them. Dogs love the wooded, fenced-in backyard. They would have the option to sleep in my daughters bed. Since our most recent dog passed away, that's opened the opportunity for us to house and love other peoples dogs. Our dogs and our friend's dogs were allowed to go on the couch and sleep in beds with my daughters. Your's would have the same opportunity, if you allowed it. Prefer dogs that don't whine. Also, if there is something we normally have out that we will need to put away, we are not interested. For example, if your dog will chew on our coats or blankets, it wouldn't be a good fit. Also, my 9th grader needs her sleep. Drop offs and pick ups only between 8AM and 8PM.

About: I’ve been around animals my entire life and have experience caring for both dogs and cats of various breeds, sizes, and personalities. Friends, neighbors, and family have trusted me to walk, feed, play with, and look after their pets while they’re away. I understand that every pet has unique needs, and I take the time to learn their routines to help them feel comfortable and secure. I work remotely full-time, which allows me to be home throughout the day and provide consistent attention and care for pets. My flexible work environment makes it easy for me to accommodate walks, feeding schedules, potty breaks, playtime, and companionship throughout the day. I’m also available during evenings and weekends and prioritize keeping pets on their normal routines while providing regular updates to owners. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding, medications, exercise, and household rules. During visits, I ensure pets remain in secure environments, have access to fresh water, and receive plenty of attention and affection. I understand how important trust is when someone is caring for your pet, so I provide regular updates, photos, and prompt communication.

Seth watched our dog Blue in our home for four nights, and we can’t recommend him highly enough. He was professional, respectful, and easy to communicate with the entire time. What stood out most was how much genuine time he spent with Blue. He didn’t just cover the basics, he played all of Blue’s favorite games, like chasing him around the couch and playing with his favorite toys. It was clear he really cared about making sure Blue was happy, comfortable, and getting plenty of attention. When we got home, Blue was calm, happy, and clearly well cared for which is exactly what you hope for when you leave your dog with someone. We could tell he hadn’t been stressed at all while we were gone. Seth also took great care of our home and left everything clean and in excellent condition. We’d absolutely work with him again and would confidently recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable, communicative, and caring dog sitter.

Crystal did a really good job taking care of my dog. He has much energy and is always curious. She took him on several beautiful, long, peaceful walks. He loves exploring new places and meeting new people. Crystal took care of all of that. When I returned home, he was happy, he was tired and he was smiling. I am so happy. We couldn't have asked for a better person to spend the week with our fur babies than Yareli! 😊 She sent us regular updates of their playtime, walks, and lots of cuddles. We came home to a house that was even cleaner than when we left it, a vase of fresh flowers, and the sweetest thank you card from her. We are so happy to have found such a wonderful, dependable person and hope to have her back in the future! ❤️

Emily is the best sitter I’ve EVER had in ten years of pet ownership! She stayed at our house for 2 and a half weeks taking care of our dog and cat while we were on our honeymoon. Emily truly went above and beyond in every way to make sure our babies got their needs met, including keeping our terrified terrier mix safe and comforted when a tornado hit Ann Arbor in the middle of the night. Our pup also had an unexpectedly bad reaction to some construction work on our street, and Emily made extra efforts to calm his nerves and adapt to a new medication regiment on the fly. She also sent us regular updates that clearly demonstrated how much both pets had bonded with her, and was prompt and conscientious whenever any issues came up. I would not hesitate to recommend Emily’s services to anyone seeking dog or cat care.

Maura is exceptional on every count. The dogs (including our senior Black Lab) loved her when we met her at our initial meeting . She sent regular updates and photos. We lost electricity for over 24 hours and she handled it with patience and professionalism, getting all the items needed to keep herself and our 2 dogs warm and happy. She managed 3 meals and meds for our older boy and got them on an impressive schedule that we hope to maintain. Her knowledge and understanding of caring for animals, and her problem solving skills are remarkable. We were so fortunate to have found her and hope to utilize her services in the near future! FAQs for House Sitting - Pittsfield Township

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Pittsfield Township on Rover is $53.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 1,417 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Pittsfield Township. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Pittsfield Township walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Pittsfield Township maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Pittsfield Township choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Pittsfield Township. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
