About: I have eight years of pet care experience ranging from dogs and cats to small rodents and reptiles. Not only have I been pet sitting since 2018, I’ve also been a frequent volunteer at my local animal shelter. I am the perfect sitter for your furry friend because I balance respect for a safety and appropriate guidance with a big heart and passion to make pets happy. I am familiar and comfortable with cleaning, vet visits, walking and providing medication as necessary. Additionally, I love to play, cuddle, and tend to the curiosity of my dogs, and I intend to do all the same for yours! My schedule is open during both weekdays and weekends, so I am both able to watch your pets when it’s convenient to you, and able to receive bookings and cancellations same-day. I have two big pups of my own at home, but as I live at home with my family, they will not need to travel with me to other places to care for your pets. That’s being said, I take great care of my dogs!
“We had to find a pet sitter at the last minute and Sarah saved us from having to cancel our trip. She was very dependable, flexible, and patient with our Chihuahua Sophie. We knew we were leaving our Sophie in good hands. We highly recommend Sarah and will use her again in the near future for our pet sitting needs.”

“Kim was excellent! She stayed in communication and was prompt getting back to me. Most importantly, my two cats were well taken care of! Everything was in order when I got home and my cats are happy. I'll definitely use Kim again and would recommend her to others.”

Your pet’s safety and happiness are my top priorities—whether it’s a quick visit or extended care. Let’s make their time with me as joyful as home! I work full-time at a local bank in Lexington, KY, with my schedule running Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Fridays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Weekends—Saturdays and Sundays—are completely free for pet sitting, giving me plenty of time to provide attentive care for your furry family members. Your pet’s safety is my priority. I’m experienced in handling pets with care, ensuring their well-being while respecting your home. You can trust me to follow your instructions, provide attentive care, and leave your home as tidy as I found it. Every visit is about giving your pet love, attention, and peace of mind for you.”
“Lindsey was great about communicating, agreed to set up a meet and greet and had good availability for that, and took good care of our kitty while we were gone. She was able to handle giving a pill. Thanks, Lindsey!”

“100% above and beyond!! Due to the hiccups of moving into a new house, my spouse latched all the security latches on the doors that we gave Allie the key to. So when she got to our house (and we had already flown hundreds of miles), she was unable to get in. We called a locksmith and Allie met them at our house so they could get her in. We were so grateful because otherwise we would have had to cancel our entire trip (business trip for a course). In addition, our critters were on their worst behavior including peeing and pooping in the kennels. Allie spent extra time with them since we figured they must have been stressing out, between the move, having the house “broken into,” and us being gone. She definitely treated our critters like her own! Definitely would use her services again in the future! Thanks Allie, you’re a rockstar!!!!!!!”

About: I have always loved animals! Booking with me will include a wonderful fun and safe day for your furry with tons of pictures and updates for you to see! I want to make any experience as smooth as possible for you and your furry friend and am more than happy to figure out details that make you feel comfortable! I have 3 years of child care experience and have helped with many pets! Growing up I was my grandmas #1 dog sitter when it came to her two Rottweilers. Anything from picking up poop and refilling the water bowl I was there to help! I am currently a college student that is in Lexington for the school year! My days are flexible and open to you and your pets needs! I love early morning walks and midday tug-of-war with your pets! If you have random hours for work or are gone all day, I can be helpful! I care for your pets with love and care! I know when pavement is too hot to walk, and the signs for a pet that needs to get back inside and hydrate! I do not have a home with crates or a fence, but I am willing to help out however I can!
“This was my first time using Rover and Kayla def made it easy for me. I got lots of pictures daily and she made sure to follow all the instructions. Thanks for making it a peaceful holiday trip away for me!”

“Hannah always goes above and beyond! It’s such a releif to know that our boy is in good hands because it was always a stressor for us! Thanks Hannah for treating my due baby like family! He means a lot to us and so grateful to have her anytime we need her she has always came through!”

“Caitlin was great with our pup! She communicated ahead of time and made sure Shadow was taken care of. She was intentional with playing with him and providing us updates. Will be using her in the future!”

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since I was little. We grew up with dogs and added cats to the mix when I was in high school. I’ve had several cats and dogs since then. Presently I have a two week on, two week off schedule. During my two weeks off I need something to do and pet sitting would both give me something to do, and allow me to have some dogs around. I’m a fan of walking so don’t worry about your puppets getting exercise! Pet care in my home is dictated by you, and enhanced by me. I’ll feed on the schedule you’ve set, but I’ve been advised by vets to let dogs have as much water as they want. So I’m happy with frequent yard time, or even walks if that’s necessary. With a fenced in back yard this is not a problem. And while I’m a sucker for puppy eyes, I’ll treat how you want as well. You also don’t need to worry about strong discipline. I will never hit or kick your dog.
About: I am a dog mom of two! They are my world, but I have never met an animal I didn’t like!! Small or big they are all special and need love!! I work as a caregiver in the evenings Monday through Thursday 3:30-10 and Friday 3:30-8. So I am available all other hours of the day. I also have the flexibility if I must to make a quick stop by during working hours if I need. I have a fenced in yard and two dogs who love making new friends and having play dates! I believe that the house is there home and they are welcome to sleep and lay on the couches and beds!!
“We were in a last minute bind and thankfully, we came across Lorrie here on the Rover app. Lorrie was able to quickly bond and take great care of our energetic bulldog, Maverick. Her communication was excellent, and she went above and beyond making sure he was well-cared for. Highly Recommend!”

About: I've had both dogs and cats. My dog was an 80 pound malamute (the runt of her litter) that I used to walk around my neighborhood--though most of the dogs I have cared for have been much smaller. In the past, I have adopted cats from my friends and taken in a neighbor's cat. I have cared for the pets of my friends and neighbors for work, travel, and illness. I'm retired. I enjoy reading and gardening. I occasionally go out some evenings but otherwise I have plenty of time flexibility for pet sitting. To care for pets in a client's home, I would want to meet with the client and their pet before an assignment. This would be helpful to know the client's expectations and to get acquainted with and build trust with the pet(s). I own a home where I have cared for my friend's pets during emergencies.
“Katie was great with both pups! We were out it of town for a couple days and she was able to make multiple drop in visits to make sure the doggies were fed, watered, and had play time. She was easy to communicate with and very friendly. We would definitely recommend Katie and will be glad to have her help us again!”

“Sydney was great with our two large dogs who needed exercise while we were on a week-long trip. Her communication (including photos) was very helpful and enabled us to truly enjoy our vacation. I would definitely have her care for our pups again.”

About: I've had dogs since I was three. I grew up with beagles but have owned a German shepherd, pitties and now an English bulldog. As well as an iguana, frogs, toads, parakeets and hamsters. Oh, and a pigeon. I've always been the one who had to save every living creature. Neighbors have brought me wounded yard creatures to try and save. Saved wild baby bunnies from a bad case of bloat. I've taken first aid/CPCR class. I can trim nails, bathe, walk, run, teach, snuggle and play. I really enjoy brushing them, it strengthens our bond and trust. I will keep them safe and love them like my own. I have cared for puppies to seniors. My animals tend to live long lives. I've never really met an animal I didn't want to kiss. I try to kiss every nose I see. I am a Air Force veteran and no longer work. So I can come to your pet anytime. Kids are grown and don't need me. I can care for your animals in your home. I also provide transportation, if needed. Leashes and car seat belts are a must for me. I have very few limitations, since I don't work a regular job anymore. Feel free to ask me anything. I look forward to making new friends and kissing new noses.
“Exceptional communicator, took the very best care of our catties. Cassidy went above and beyond with mail and unloading an unexpected refrigerated delivery 5 star all the way.”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Pinckard. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
