“Andy did a great job helping Nate feel at home. Nate got snacks he likes and outside breaks that were on his schedule. Andy sent a lot of updates with pictures. Besides the cute pictures, Andy sent me a picture that showed Nate feeling relaxed. Frankly, I was glad Nate still wanted to come home! Andy understands dogs, has an appreciation for the variety of normal dog behavior, and really does love dogs. His daughter also really loves dogs. Although I found Andy through Rover, a mutual friend confirmed that he’s a dog lover and would trust him with her dogs. Knowing that we had mutual friends was literally an answer to prayer. Presently I have a two week on, two week off schedule. During my two weeks off I need something to do and pet sitting would both give me something to do, and allow me to have some dogs around. I’m a fan of walking so don’t worry about your puppets getting exercise! Pet care in my home is dictated by you, and enhanced by me. About: I was born into an animal-loving family and I have continued to instill this love for animals in my own children. I have had a menagerie of animals all of my life. At the young age of 12, I started walking the neighbors' dogs and going to their houses when they were out of town to feed, water, and walk their pets. In college, I worked part-time in several different veterinary clinics. I am still very well connected to the veterinary world so if I am unsure of something involving my pets, I am able to reach out to get an answer pretty quickly. Over my lifetime of 40 yrs. I have had at least 20 dogs, 10 cats, several rabbits, horses, chinchillas, guinea pigs, hamsters, and a few reptiles (but no snakes). In my full-time job, I have a hybrid work schedule. Some days I am in the office and some days I work from home. This allows some flexibility when caring for fur babies. My family also helps care for our "animal guests". It is a group effort! I have a 1/2 acre that is fenced. I have 3 dogs- a Newfoundland, Black Lab, and a Beagle. All of my dogs are rescues. I know that I rescued them but as cheesy as it sounds, most days I feel like they rescued me. Each of them has their own personality, which I love. My dogs are usually always by my side when I am home. My dogs love to jump on the bed or couch and get snuggles. I also have 3 cats. All of them found us. "My cat has never warmed up so fast to anyone" remains a common phrase throughout my entire life. I wake up and let my parents dog out, clean the litter box for their cats & then feed the fish in case my mother forgot. I also feed the dog in the afternoon (mom does morning) & the cats as well. Any help that is needed along with vet visits, fall on me since I am home more than anyone. I make sure that I am aware of any hiding spots in other peoples homes for cats so that I can check on them constantly even if it just means checking that they are still in the same spot. Cats, depending on playfulness, need attention & proper care. I make sure I set alarms or reminders if they need medication or special care from the owners. Watching tv, reading a book or cleaning are my favorite past times while I cat sit. If I need to be home all day with them, then I will entertain myself easily.

Besides the cute pictures, Andy sent me a picture that showed Nate feeling relaxed. Frankly, I was glad Nate still wanted to come home! “Kathryn went above and beyond when watching Monte! We have never boarded Monte with someone we didn't know so we were a bit worried. However, he warmed right up to Kathryn during the meet and greet. The communication was great and she sent us pictures throughout his stay. We had some flight changes that resulted in us having to board Monte an additional night. Kathryn was more than happy and willing to keep Monte the additional night, which eased our worries. When we need to board Monte again, she will be our first choice!”

“I can’t explain how much of a relief it was to find Allison before a long trip out of state! I was nervous about sending our 2 dogs to someone new, but Allison went above and beyond for everything. We did a meet and greet at her house and she took detailed notes of any info I gave her. She sent daily pictures & sometimes video updates of our boys playing and snuggling with her, her husband and their dog, and taking them to the dog park. When we got home later than expected they were super kind and understanding. Our dogs clearly had a BLAST and came home very happy and healthy! I’m so happy to have doggie sitter friends nearby that I trust now!!”
